Welcome to the latest edition of AEW Dynamite Ignite for 6/17/20! AEW is now only two weeks away from Fyter Fest.  It seems AEW is gearing up for their two super cards that will have all the major titles on the line. Who will be fighting for the titles on those cards? We will know more answers after tonight.

    Cody’s Open Challenge

Cody vowed to defend the TNT Championship each and every week on AEW Dynamite. He has his first defense against Jungle Boy two weeks ago. Last week he defeated Marq Quen to retain the title yet again. It is time for the Open Challenge to truly begin.

The problem is this week he doesn’t know who he is facing in advance. Will that added element of surprise end Cody’s reign? And will Cody be distracted by the fact Jake Hager is waiting in the wings to challenge the TNT Champion at Fyter Fest? The MMA fighter Hager could truly intimidate anyone. Will it throw off Cody on Wednesday?

    Anna Jay in Action!

The AEW Women’s Division has taken quite a hit in the last few weeks with injuries to Britt Baker and Kris Statlander. So it wasn’t too surprising to see another face enter into the division. It is time to welcome back Anna Jay.

Anna Jay, a QT Marshall trainee, made her Dynamite debut losing to Hikaru Shida on the April 1st Dynamite. She made quite the impression and was quickly signed to the company. What is more impressive is she is only 21 years old and has less than ten matches to her name. Can she impress in her first Dynamite match in over two months?

    MJF (w/ Wardlow) vs. Billy

MJF is feeling pretty good about himself. He is undefeated in 2020. Friedman has only lost one match ever in AEW and he wasn’t even pinned in that loss. He is currently the number one male contender as well. MJF has no problem telling you how great he is at all times.

Last week, MJF ran his mouth in front of Billy. He feels the need to insult the entire Gunn Club. Billy will be out for revenge. Can he shut the mouth of the always disrespectful MJF? Or will MJF have more to brag about after AEW Dynamite?

The Young Bucks vs The SuperBad Death Squad

It is amazing to think the Young Bucks haven’t had a traditional tag team match on AEW Dynamite since January. The last time they tagged together at all was the loss in the all-time classic against Omega/Page at AEW Revolution. It is time for the Young Bucks to do what they do best on Wednesday.

They will face Kip Sabin & Jimmy Havoc. Sabin/Havoc felt the need to attack the Young Bucks last week. The SuperBad Death Squad has been busy as a tag team in recent months. They even had a title shot against the Tag Champions just three weeks ago. Will they take out the possibly rusty Young Bucks? It is another excellent match-up in the wonderful AEW tag division.

Best Friends vs Le Sex Gods (Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara)

The Best Friends had earned the title shot against the AEW Tag Team Champions at Fyter Fest. They simply had to wait for their shot in early July. But that all might have changed last week.

Chris Jericho attacked Orange Cassidy. This caused The Best Friends to challenge Jericho & Guevara. Jericho agreed but only if the Number One Contender’s opportunity was on the line. Will The Best Friends live to regret this choice? And will Le Sex Gods get another chance at the members of The Elite? It will be fun to watch and find out.

    AEW Tag Team Championship
Kenny Omega & Hangman Page vs. The Natural Nightmares (Dustin Rhodes & QT Marshall)

The Natural Nightmares have actually been on a five-match winning streak. Because of that, they will get a shot at the AEW Tag Team Championship on Dynamite. The Tag Champions are on a seven-match winning streak. Something will have to give on Wednesday night.

One question is will the Natural Nightmares be distracted? Allie seems to be very distracting to QT Marshall in recent weeks. Her presence has upset Brandi Rhodes. Can the Natural Nightmares overcome the potential friction and focus enough on the AEW Tag Team Champions?
