Welcome to the latest edition of AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 5/13/20. The Road to Double or Nothing to truly on its way with multiple matches already announced. What will we learn about May’s pay-per-view on tonight’s show:

    MJF Returns

Poor MJF. He has been dealing with some career threatening injuries in recent months. He had to overcome a devastating hangnail injury. With this scare behind him, it is time for his first AEW match since March 11th.

MJF is a fierce competitor in the ring. He has only lost one match in all of AEW history and in that Fatal Four Way match he wasn’t even pinned. As he gets ready for a singles match against Jungle Boy at AEW Double or Nothing, what will MJF look like as he gets back into in-ring action?

Jake Roberts and Lance Archer Appearance

It was a pretty shocking moment when Lance Archer and Jake Roberts took advantage of the attack on Brandi Rhodes and placed a snake onto the unconscious Brandi. Cody couldn’t help his wife as he was recovering from his AEW Dynamite match with Joey Janela.

Roberts and Archer will be on this week’s Dynamite to play more mind games with Cody. With only two weeks until AEW Double or Nothing, what will they have to say? And what revenge will Cody take against the duo?

    Pineapple Pete vs. Chris Jericho

It is the match weeks in the making. Chris Jericho has been making fun of “Pineapple Pete” for weeks since the indy wrestler actually known as Suge D has started appearing ringside at AEW Dynamite events. It escalated after Sammy Guevara defeated Suge D in a recent AEW Dynamite match. Jericho insulted him yet again and pushed him over. “Pineapple Pete” had enough and slapped Jericho. It was time for this feud to have its first singles match!

This is a dangerous match for Jericho. He has everything to lose and nothing to gain. That seems to set up well for Suge D as he can pull off the greatest of upsets. It will be a fun match to watch for sure.

Hikaru Shida vs. Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D vs. Kris Statlander vs. Penelope Ford

It is time for some Fatal Four Way action! Nyla Rose finally returned to AEW Dynamite last week and she is looking for a challenger for AEW Double or Nothing.  She has a lot of worthy challengers to the title.

Shida is the top contender and has defeated the other three competitors in some fashion in recent months. She seems to be the favorite here but her last singles loss was to Kris Statlander in December. Britt Baker will also be looking for some revenge against Shida would leave her literally blooded in the ring in recent weeks. If you throw in the wildcard of Penelope Ford, you have quite a match that should determine the next challenger to Nyla Rose. The stakes couldn’t be any higher.

    Brodie Lee vs. Christopher Daniels

For weeks earlier this year, Christopher Daniel mocked The Dark Order. He made vignettes making fun of them and proclaimed that there was no actual Exalted One. On the March 18th Dynamite, Daniels learned the “Exalted One” was very real and he was Brodie Lee.

On last week’s Dynamite, Lee once again attacked Daniels. This led to this week’s match. This is Daniels’ chance for some revenge. But can Brodie Lee be possibly stopped on his road to a AEW World Title shot at Double or Nothing? And will Moxley arrive to reclaim his belt that Lee stole last week? The Champ will certainly place a major factor in this match.

Santana & Ortiz vs. “Broken” Matt Hardy & Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega and Matt Hardy were on their way to a major tag team victory last week when Santana & Ortiz interfered to cost The Elite the main event of Dynamite. Omega and Hardy will be out for some revenge this week against Proud and Powerful. It should be fun.

Santana & Ortiz have not wrestled in a match since March 18th. Will they have some ring rust against a team that has wrestled a lot in recent weeks? Last week Matt Hardy and Kenny Omega were willing to run over Sammy Guevara to pick up a victory? What will they be willing to do to get revenge against members of the Inner Circle? It will be fun to find out.
