It is time for the New Year’s Smash! For the third straight year, All Elite Wrestling will bring back the New Year’s Smash Special edition of AEW Dynamite. We have Bryan Danielson in action. We have a TNT Championship match. And it is time for Match Six of the AEW World Trios Championship Best of 7 Series.

Let us find out more about this interesting show in Broomfield in the latest edition of AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 12/28/22.

Willow Nightingale and Ruby Soho vs. Tay Melo and Anna Jay A.S.

Ruby Soho thought she was done with Tay Melo after defeating her at Winter is Coming. Her victory celebration was very short-lived, as Anna Jay A.S. attacked Soho shortly after the match ended. It seems Tay and Anna were not done with Soho after all.

On Wednesday night, Ruby will face the duo in tag team action. Who will have Soho’s back at New Year’s Smash? It is the always energetic Willow Nightingale. Will Nightingale be able to make a difference and end this feud once and for all?

Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli vs. Top Flight (Dante Martin and Darius Martin)

Jon Moxley certainly has had some issues with Top Flight in recent weeks. At Holiday Bash, Jon Moxley defeated Darius Martin in a very physical match. At AEW Rampage, Top Flight defeated members of the Blackpool Combat Club to win the $300,000 Three Kings Christmas Casino Trios Royale. Top Flight did have some unexpected help from Hangman Page, but a win is a win.

At New Year’s Smash, it is time for some payback. Can Moxley and Castagnoli be able to focus and defeat the talented young tag team? We know Hangman Page might factor into the outcome as well. Here is hoping we get an exciting tag team match in this deep tag division on Wednesday night.

    Bryan Danielson vs. Ethan Page

Bryan Danielson was in the mood for a fight on last week’s AEW Dynamite. He was looking for MJF after his vicious attack on William Regal. As he waited for MJF to arrive, it was a surprising moment to see Ethan Page crash the party instead.

Page is looking for respect. After being a finalist in the AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament, he hasn’t had a lot of chances since that night. Can he pull off the biggest win of his AEW career at New Year’s Smash against Danielson? If he does, he will certainly be right back into the AEW World Title hunt. It could be the show stealer on Wednesday night.

Best of 7 Series: Match Six Falls Count Anywhere Match)

The Elite are back into the Best of 7 Series. They were able to successfully use weapons against Death Triangle and cut the deficit to 3 to 2. Can they finally even the score at 3-3 at New Year’s Smash?

The sixth match will be a Falls Count Anywhere Match. After last week’s wild match, who knows what will happen on Wednesday night? Where will these six talented competitors go in the 1stBank Center? The fans will certainly be in for another treat in this now memorable series.

    Samoa Joe (c) vs. Wardlow
    (AEW TNT Championship)

Samoa Joe ended Wardlow’s 136-day AEW TNT Championship reign at the Full Gear pay-per-view. The issue was Joe actually submitted Powerhouse Hobbs in the Triple Threat match on that night and not the TNT Champ. At New Year’s Smash, it is finally time for a singles match between two of the most powerful men in all of All Elite Wrestling.

Joe is a twenty-three-year veteran of the squared circle. He will certainly be willing to pull out all the stops to keep the gold. Wardlow hasn’t been defeated in singles action in nearly nine months. Something has to give on Wednesday night, but the fans will certainly be the winners in this hard-hitting match.

    What To Expect:

    • What will Chris Jericho do next after last week’s fireball attack?
    • What is next for the Acclaimed?
    • Will we learn about the AEW Dynamite show in Seattle?
