This week on AEW Dynamite, The Continental Classic rolls into its second week. Last week, the round-robin-style tournament started in strong fashion as we saw Swerve Strickland, Jay White, and 3-time AEW World Champion Jon Moxley pick up big opening wins.
This Wednesday night, we will see more action in the star-studded Gold League. We will also hear from everyone’s favorite father, Christian Cage. Let us find out more about this action-packed card in Minneapolis in the latest edition of AEW Ignite.

Christian Cage Responds to Adam Copeland
The feud between Adam Copeland and Christian Cage has been gaining intensity at a breakneck pace. In recent weeks, we’ve seen Copeland stage attacks on Cage’s allies, Killswitch and Nick Wayne. But it got even bigger last Saturday night, when Adam Copeland challenged Cage to a TNT Championship match on December 6th in Montreal.
On Wednesday night, will “The Patriarch” Christian Cage respond to the challenge? Will he even accept? Or will AEW’s favorite Dad play more mind games with his old friend? This feud is quickly becoming the top angle in All Elite Wrestling.

Mark Briscoe vs. Rush
(Continental Classic Gold League)
The Gold League continues with its second match on Wednesday night. This tournament match-up is between Mark Briscoe and Rush. Both men suffered losses in their first matches against Jon Moxley and Jay White, respectively. Will desperation already be setting in for both of these impressive veterans?
Rush put on a physically demanding opening bout with Jay White last week, only losing after a low blow from White. Meanwhile, Mark Briscoe’s match with Jon Moxley would more accurately be described as a brawl. With these two winless wrestlers facing off, who will pull off that all-important first victory in the Gold League? We will find out in Minneapolis.

Jon Moxley vs. Jay Lethal
(Continental Classic Gold League)
Jon Moxley defeated an ROH Legend in Mark Briscoe to open the Continental Classic last week. What is his reward for an opening match victory? Why another match against another Ring of Honor Legend in Jay Lethal.
Lethal is coming off a loss to Swerve Strickland in his first match. Lethal must be chomping at the bit to score some points in this tournament. But is he hungry enough to pull out a victory against the record-setting 3-time AEW World Champion Jon Moxley?

Swerve Strickland vs. Jay White
(Continental Classic Gold League)
Swerve Strickland opened the Continental Classic with a victory over Jay Lethal. He also pulled off a huge victory over Hangman Page in a brutal Texas Death Match at AEW Full Gear. It is safe to say Strickland is one of the hottest wrestlers in all of All Elite Wrestling right now.
Can he continue it against Bullet Club Gold’s Jay White? White is also coming off a victory in the Continental Classic as he defeated Rush in his first match. However, he only did so after a low blow.
Such tactics might be enough to get a win over someone like Rush, but Swerve Strickland makes no bones about playing dirty himself. Could we see another such move this Wednesday night? Find out when the AEW Continental Classic rolls into week 2 on AEW Dynamite!
What Else To Expect:
- An update on the health of AEW World Champion MJF?
- Who will challenge “Timeless” Toni Storm next?
- Will we begin to learn more about AEW World’s End?
