AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 10/16/24 (The Fallout From WrestleDream!)

Jon Moxley is the AEW World Champion for the fourth time as we preview AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 10/16/24. What happens now?

It was certainly a shocking night at Saturday’s WresteDream. But there is no rest in All Elite Wrestling.

On this week’s Dynamite, we have three huge matches and a massive return to AEW for Adam Cole. Let us learn more about this interesting night in San Jose on the latest edition of AEW Ignite.

Adam Cole Returns

At AEW Grand Slam 2023, Adam Cole suffered a freak ankle injury. It kept him out of in-ring action for over a year. That is until he returned at WrestleDream on Saturday night to attack his old friend, MJF.

Adam Cole will return to AEW Dynamite in San Jose this week. What will he have to say? And will MJF try to seek revenge? One thing is for sure, it is great to have Adam Cole back to AEW.

Jon Moxley is the New AEW World Champion. Nobody is Safe.

As if beating Bryan Danielson and ending his full-time in-ring career wasn’t enough, Moxley’s group took it to another level. Wheeler Yuta betrayed Danielson and suffocated him with a plastic bag.

Moxley then ordered Claudio to stomp a chair that was on Danielson’s neck. It was a shocking end to the show in Tacoma.

What will Moxley and his group do next? It is pretty clear they are willing to do anything and everything to get what they want in AEW. Who might be their next target on Wednesday night? All Elite Wrestling has gotten more dangerous for sure.

Mercedes Moné
(c) vs. Queen Aminata
(AEW TBS Championship)

Mercedes Moné has been the cocky and entitled champion these days. And with Kamille in her corner, she seems quite unstoppable. Can Queen Aminata be the one to stop her reign of terror finally?

As Moné was berating an employee backstage, Queen Aminata scolded her backstage at WrestleDream. That set up a TBS Championship match on Wednesday night.

Mercedes is rightfully confident, but overlooking the talented Aminata would be a huge mistake. Can Queen Aminata pull off the huge upset in San Jose? It isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

Shelton Benjamin vs.
Lio Rush

On the WrestleDream kickoff show, Lio Rush announced that he had officially re-signed with All Elite Wrestling.

That is when Shelton Benjamin and MVP interrupted the interview and virtually ignored Lio Rush. This disrespect angered Lio and led to a match on Wednesday night.

This will be Shelton Benjamin’s in-ring AEW debut. The 49-year-old Benjamin is still among the most talented wrestlers in the world. And having his debut against the high-flying Rush? It could be a show stealer in San Jose.

Jay White vs. Christian Cage

Jay White returned to All Elite Wrestling on the October 2nd Dynamite to attack Hangman Adam Page.

Page was the man who defeated White back in July in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. And at WrestleDream, Jay White got his revenge defeating Hangman Page.

But a second person cost Jay White in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. That man was Christian Cage, who interfered that fateful night.

Jay White has now challenged Cage to a match on AEW Dynamite. Will White be ready for Christian and The Patriarchy’s likely attempts to cheat? It would be foolish to bet against Jay White at this moment.

What To Expect:

  • Will we get an update on Bryan Danielson’s condition?
  • Will Wheeler Yuta explains his shocking actions at WrestleDream?
  • What will Swerve Strickland do next?
