Well, that was an eventful first night of New Year’s Smash. We had Kenny Omega defend his title in an incredible title match against Fenix. But that wasn’t the biggest news of the night. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson of Impact Wrestling arrived to help Kenny Omega against Jon Moxley. It even seemed they reformed “The Elite” with Omega and the Young Bucks as well. What can AEW possibly do for an encore?  Let us see what they have in store for us in the second part of AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 1/13/21 New Year’s Smash!

The Waiting Room with Cody Rhodes

Britt Baker has built on her highly entertaining character with a talk show called “The Waiting Room”. It has led to some fun moments with AEW stars on AEW Dark. It is now time for its AEW Dynamite debut!

Her first guest on Dynamite is Cody Rhodes. What is on Cody Rhodes mind for 2021? With Britt Baker involved it will be an interesting segment for sure.

Serena Deeb (c) vs. Tay Conti
    (NWA Women’s World Championship)

Serena Deeb has provided a much needed veteran presence to the AEW Women’s Division. Since she won the NWA Women’s title, she has provided some of the best matches constantly on the female roster. She will face an unexpected challenger on Wednesday night in Tay Conti.

Tay Conti has been improving since joining the AEW roster in early 2020. She has had a partnership with Anna Jay but hasn’t joined the Dark Order. Can Tay Conti pull off an upset in her biggest match of her career and win a huge title in pro wrestling?

    The Elite In Action

The wrestling world was shocked to see Kenny Omega, the Young Bucks and the Good Brothers work together to end last week’s AEW New Year’s Smash. It was the Bullet Club (but not for legal reasons) together again in shocking fashion. The impact these five wrestlers can have on the pro wrestling world will be huge. What will happen next?

The Elite will be in action on Wednesday night. How will they work as a team? And will they tell us their plans for the pro wrestling world? I guess we have only one way to find out.

    Jurassic Express vs. FTR

Jurassic Express has been getting in arguments with FTR in recent weeks. It it finally time for a tag match between these two talented teams. It is really strange who is in the Jurassic Express team for Wednesday night.

Marko Stunt will join Jungle Boy at New Year’s Smash. Can the smaller Marko Stunt keep up with the talented FTR team? This will be a sleeper match to start off 2021.

    Chuck Taylor vs. Miro

One of the strangest feuds of 2020 is just getting stranger in 2021. The Best Friends have been involved in a video game based feud with Kip Sabin and Miro. Sadly, Trent will be out with an injury for quite a while in 2021. What will Chuck Taylor do without his best friend? It seems agree to a bizarre stipulation.

If Chuck Taylor loses to Miro at New Year’s Smash, he will become Miro’s young boy until Kip Sabin’s wedding. Can you just think of the possibilities if Taylor has to work for Miro? I guess we find out on Wednesday night if it happens.

    PAC vs. Eddie Kingston

This feud has been building for months now. Eddie Kingston teamed with the Lucha Bros but tried to turn them against each other. In his first Pandemic appearance in months, this led to PAC returning to attack Eddie Kingston and reform the Death Triangle. Eddie returned the favor and injured PAC for a few weeks shortly thereafter. It is now time for them to face off in the ring.

PAC and Eddie Kingston are two of the most popular wrestlers in all of AEW. It will be a brutal, brawling affair at New Year’s Smash. Which of these two talented wrestlers pull off a huge win in 2021?

Darby Allin (c) vs. Brian Cage
    (AEW TNT Championship)

The main event of the second night of New Year’s Smash has been built for a long time. Team Taz has been constantly attacking Darby Allin for months. It wasn’t until Darby got back up for pro wrestling icon Sting that the odds finally moved in his favor. It’s now time for Darby to defend his TNT Championship against the most dangerous member of Team Taz, Brian Cage.

It will be a true contrast of styles. The high flying and dangerous Darby Allin against the power of Brian Cage. Brian Cage hasn’t lost much in AEW. Can Darby Allin survive his toughest challenge to date?
