We have an unexpected first-time match-up heading our way this week when AEW Dynamite comes to Savannah, Georgia’s Enmarket Arena, as we preview AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 01/24/24!
Last week, we saw Samoa Joe’s first successful defense as AEW World Champion against Hook, the Bang Bang Gang crowned the new Ring of Honor World Six-Man Tag Team Champions, and Christian Cage retained his TNT Championship against Dustin Rhodes.
This week’s Dynamite looks set to be just as entertaining as the last, with a match we would’ve never thought possible a year ago set to play a big role in this Wednesday’s show, making AEW Dynamite in Georgia one that no one will want to miss!

We’ll Hear From Sting & Darby Allin
On last week’s Dynamite, the executive vice presidents of AEW, the Young Bucks, made it known that they are looking to change AEW for the better and reinforce their original vision for the company by removing the last of a dying breed of pro-wrestlers in Sting.
Matthew and Nicholas Jackson, as they now prefer to be called, suggested that they have no problem with the Icon but do have a problem with what he represents as the last of his era. They’ll look to pull some strings to ensure that they’re the ones to put an end to Sting’s career at AEW Revolution.
This week, we’ll see what Sting and Darby Allin have to say about the Young Bucks’ interview last week and what their future plans are.

“Timeless” Toni Storm & Deonna Purrazzo Face-To-Face Interview
Deonna Purrazzo made her Dynamite in-ring return last week as she defeated Anna Jay while “Timeless” Toni Storm watched on from commentary.
However, it was after the match when Deonna Purrazzo reminded Toni Storm that they used to be friends long before Toni Storm became who she is now.
Even so, the woman who calls herself the best female technical wrestler in the world also told “Timeless” Toni Storm that they’ve both been through changes since they last met and she’ll have no problem facing off against the AEW Women’s World Champion when the time comes.
Naturally, Storm didn’t take too kindly to Purrazzo’s challenge and berated her atop Luther’s shoulders before making her exit.
This week, the two come face-to-face for an interview with Luther and Mariah May at Storm’s side to ensure that she and Purrazzo don’t come to blows before any potential championship match.
AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 01/24/24
Wardlow vs. Trent Beretta
Wardlow of the Undisputed Kingdom takes on Trent Beretta of Beat Friends this week on Dynamite.
This will be Wardlow’s first match of 2024 and therefore his first match since being officially revealed as a member of Adam Cole’s Undisputed Kingdom.
According to Adam Cole, Wardlow will be going after the AEW World Championship at some point and will then, of course, hand it over to Adam Cole when Cole recovers from his injury. To do this, Wardlow will need to earn his match with the AEW World Champion as there are plenty of others in the running for a shot at the title.
2024 has started off strong for Trent Beretta. Just last week he and Orange Cassidy defeated Komander & Penta El Zero Miedo on Dynamite.
Before that, Beretta earned the chance to face Eddie Kingston for his AEW Triple Crown, and though he came up short to Kingston in their match on Collision, he showed that he could take on the best at the top of their game.
If Wardlow can knock off Trent Beretta, it will no doubt put his name higher up on the list of challengers for the AEW World Championship, but if Trent were to pick up the win then perhaps his name would also feature in the conversation for the championship.
AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 01/24/24
Thunder Rosa vs. Red Velvet
Thunder Rosa is back again with another singles match this week on Dynamite. Coming off the back of a successful victory against Queen Aminata this past Saturday on Collision, she faces Red Velvet who is still looking to pick up her first Dynamite win in some time.
Red Velvet has been successful on Ring of Honor over the past few weeks, having defeated both Alex Gracia and Heather Reckless on separate occasions. However, wins in AEW have been hard to come by for Red Velvet who was last seen on the losing end of a match with Deonna Purrazzo.
Meanwhile, Thunder Rosa has featured in a number of tag matches against the likes of Skye Blue and the TBS Champion Julia Hart. Both times Thunder Rosa’s team came out with the win, putting her in good stead for a TBS Championship opportunity down the road if her good form continues.
It should also be noted that Thunder Rosa was never defeated for the AEW Women’s World Championship before it was vacated back in 2022. A win over Red Velvet will only aid her efforts to be given an opportunity to earn the title back.
AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 01/24/24
Jeff Hardy vs. Swerve Strickland
Coming off the back of a loss to Darby Allin in a good showing on Rampage this past week, Jeff Hardy finds himself in a match with Swerve Strickland on Dynamite this week.
Swerve has already taken down Daniel Garcia and Matt Sydal this year on his quest to get his match with Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship, though with Hangman Adam Page still around it would be wise for Swerve to keep pace by picking up another win this week.
After Jeff Hardy’s match with Darby Allin, Hardy refused to bump fists with Allin and promptly left Allin on his own in the ring.
This could be the sign of a coming change for Hardy, who no longer finds himself “stuck in the AEW Rampage dimension.”
If we see something similar to his outing on last week’s Rampage, then this unexpected match is sure to play a big part in both Hardy and Strickland’s respective stories.

The Acclaimed & Daddy A** (c) vs. The Mogul Embassy (AEW World Trios Championship)
On Collision, we saw the formation of the Bang Bang Scissor Gang when Ring of Honor World Six-Man Tag Team Champions Bullet Club Gold accepted The Acclaimed & Daddy Ass’ offer to form an alliance.
Now The Acclaimed & Daddy A** put their AEW Works Trios Championships on the line against the former Ring of Honor World Six-Man Tag Team Champions, The Mogul Embassy, who lost the titles to Bullet Club Gold on last week’s Dynamite.
The Acclaimed & Daddy A** will be hoping to make sure that all the gold stays within the newly formed group, and it remains to be seen whether Jay White and the Gunns will be there at ringside supporting their new allies.
Either way, the Gates of Agony & Brian Cage will no doubt have Prince Nana around to make things difficult for the reigning champions.
AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 01/24/24
Penta El Zero Miedo vs. Hangman Adam Page
This week on Dynamite Hangman, Adam Page looks to prove that he should be the one to challenge Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship as he takes on Penta El Zero Miedo.
With Swerve Strickland also in action, Hangman will be looking to ensure that he doesn’t fall behind his enemy in search of a match with Samoa Joe, but Penta will prove a difficult challenge for Hangman, who last time outdefeated JD Drake in Norfolk, Virginia.
Penta was successful in his last singles match against Anthony Henry on Rampage last week, both of whom are known more for their tag team matches than singles matches.
Despite that, Penta and Komander could not defeat Orange Cassidy & Trent Beretta in a tag team match on Collision, so Penta will hope to defeat Hangman in order to recover from that loss.
With respective victories over the WorkHorsemen in singles matches, Hangman and Penta one-on-one was the next logical step as both look to gain momentum as 2024 gets underway.
AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 01/24/24
Minoru Suzuki vs. Adam Copeland
After weeks of facing up-and-coming talent in open challenges on AEW Collision, Adam Copeland faces someone who’s been in the ring for even longer than he has in Minoru Suzuki!
Copeland aims to bring Christian Cage’s TNT Championship back to Collision, but, as Christian Cage said, Adam Copeland must start from the back of the line.
That being said, with singles wins against Griff Garrison, Lee Moriarty, and Dante Martin already under his belt, Copeland has been steadily working his way back up the ladder, and a win against his next opponent would surely be worth a few rungs.
Beating a former two time All-Japan Pro Wrestling Triple Crown champion, just to name one of the many titles held by Suzuki in his 35+ year career, is easier said than done.
We last saw Minoru Suzuki in AEW in October 2023 where he was defeated by Eddie Kingston in a match for Kingston’s Ring of Honor World & NJPW Strong Openweight Championships.
This first-time encounter between Adam Copeland and Minoru Suzuki will be much anticipated and hopefully one to remember.
What To Expect:
• Will we have new AEW World Trios champions crowned this Wednesday?
• Will Swerve or Hangman gain the upper hand in the hunt for Samoa Joe’s AEW World Championship?
• Will we learn of any new matches for AEW Revolution?
