Welcome to the NWA Powerrr Files for episode eight! Big thanks to editor-in-chief Marc Madison for filling in for me last week. You can catch up on episode seven here. Following the fan backlash regarding Jim Cornette’s comments, he has resigned from the NWA. He will not appear in this broadcast.
Now we go into the fire with NWA Powerrr! Joe Galli welcomes us to this Thanksgiving broadcast. In this episode, pieces will be laid into place for Into The Fire, which takes place on December 14th. The first order of business is, of course, the ten pounds of gold. Who will Nick Aldis face at Into the Fire? We’ll find out later on, as there are many viable contenders. What is known right now though, is that it will be a two-out-of-three falls contest. Speaking of contenders such as Colt Cabana, James Storm, and Eli Drake, we go to an interview with Drake. Dave Marquez holds court at Championship Wrestling from Hollywood who provides this clip.

In this interview, Drake covers the topics of Nick Aldis and Ken Anderson. Drake doesn’t mind comparisons to fellow superstars, but he draws the line at comparisons to Nick Aldis. However, he wants to put the issue with Aldis and the NWA World’s Heavyweight Championship aside for now. His immediate issue is with Ken Anderson. Fans also compare Drake to Anderson, which he also rebuffs. They’ve been some of the same places, but Drake is eager to prove that they are nothing alike.
Going back to Joe in the studio, we shift gears to the women’s division. Melina made her return to wrestling during the match between Thunder Rosa, Marti Belle, Ashley Vox and Allysin Kay. Galli will get to sit down with Melina later in this episode of NWA Powerrr. Speaking of Thunder Rosa, we will follow her as she prepares for her MMA debut. We also revisit the Rock and Roll Express’ debut in the NWA. They will be challenging for the NWA World Tag Team Championships next week on NWA Powerrr. Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson will search for their ninth reign with the gold.

Next, we go to the cage as Thunder Rosa approached her first-ever MMA bout. She has been training for this fight for about six months, and now it’s down to the 24 hours before the fight. Her nerves and excitement are palpable as she gets her hair braided. As she sits there, Thunder Rosa sheds some light on her past before wrestling and MMA. She helped middle school-aged children with mental disabilities and worked in a rehab facility. We break from “Into the Cage” for now as we go to The Empty Arena match between The Question Mark and Zane Dawson.
The Question Mark is cornered by Aron Stevens and has upped the ante for this match. Should they lose, The Question Mark will unmask. Stevens is very confident that the karate expert will win, and then the Dawsons will have to recite Shakespeare. The Question Mark picked up the win following the Mongrovion Spike. Dave Marquez is standing by to enforce the recitation of Shakespeare by the Dawsons. Their performance left something to be desired by the thespian of the NWA, Stevens. He was sent under the ring for a trash can while he heaved.

Onto a more happy topic, Joe Galli announces that Trevor Murdoch will take on The Question Mark at Into The Fire. This is followed by Galli’s interview with Melina. Last week on NWA Powerrr, she returned to wrestling and aligned herself with Thunder Rosa and Marti Belle. She talks about her motivation in wrestling and what she enjoys about it, which is the fight. Galli asks about her legacy and if she feels she’s contributed to the women’s revolution in wrestling and what she has against Allysin Kay. Melina believes she has helped in the evolution of women’s wrestling and that she is a living legend. She also feels that Allysin Kay doesn’t hold the championship as she should or carry herself as she should. Melina promises that she will make the AK47 appreciate what she has or had no matter what.

Next is part two of the Into the Cage documentary with Thunder Rosa. Despite all of her preparation, Thunder Rosa lost her first fight. Through the pain and the tears, she is still confident and positive about the experience. We then return to Joe Galli, who informs us that Allysin Kay will team with Ashley Vox at Into the Fire. They will take on two members of Melina’s team, the specific members have yet to be named. Next week on NWA Powerrr, Colt Cabana will take on Ricky Starks. The Rock and Roll Express will also be in action against the Wild Cards in the main event.
Before he announces who will challenge Nick Aldis for the NWA World’s Heavyweight Championship, we will recap the card for Into the Fire:
Trevor Murdoch vs. The Question Mark
Allysin Kay & Ashley Vox vs. A team of Thunder Rosa, Melina or Marti Belle
Eli Drake vs. Ken Anderson
NWA World’s Heavyweight Championship 2 out of 3 Falls Match
Nick Aldis (c) vs. James Storm
Now, of course, last week we saw Kamille speak with James Storm privately. How will this impact the main event of Into The Fire? We’re not sure, but Joe Galli will ask Nick Aldis about this next week on NWA Powerrr!
