Beyond Wrestling is returning to Rhode Island on February 24th! They will be bringing to you a show entitled Destination: Uncharted Territory. Also, as part of this event will be a one-night tournament called the Treasure Hunt Tournament. Eight wrestlers will be competing for the opportunity to challenge for the Independent Wrestling Championship! Currently, that title is held by Orange Cassidy. This show will also be streaming live on IndependentWrestling.TV!

Lisa Marie Varon vs. Anthony Greene

In addition to the Treasure Hunt tournament, we will see the debut of Lisa Marie Varon (FKA Victoria and Tara). Lisa announced that 2019 will be her final year as an active wrestler. This is her farewell tour of sorts. Here she will be taking on Anthony Greene. Lisa has been in wrestling for almost 19 years. It was Chyna who encouraged her to get into wrestling and Lisa applied to the WWE. She was then sent to Ultimate Pro Wrestling (UPW) to train. Debuting as a wrestler in 2002, she would remain with the WWE until 2009. During that time, she was a two-time WWE Women’s Champion. From 2009-2013 she competed for TNA Impact Wrestling. She was a five-time Knockouts Champion and a one-time Knockouts Tag Team Champion. Lisa also worked various independents during her tenure with TNA and this continued after leaving them.

While Lisa has a formidable reputation and is well-regarded in the wrestling community, her opponent is no slouch either. The RETROsexual, Anthony Greene will waltz into Destination: Uncharted Territory with his Platinum Hunnies. The RETRObution Tour 2019 is well underway. So far, he’s appeared for Limitless Wrestling, C4, Chaotic Wrestling, Black Label Pro and CZW. He’s also been announced for CZW’s 18th incarnation of the Best of the Best tournament. Now he’s back in Beyond to test himself against the legendary Lisa Marie Varon.

    Solo Darling vs. Josh Briggs

Let’s start breaking down these first-round matches for the Treasure Hunt Tournament. First, we have Solo Darling taking on Josh Briggs. This is going to be your typical David versus Goliath scenario. The monster that is Briggs dwarfs the energetic and resilient Darling. The two have even taken to antagonizing each other on Twitter. Briggs’ mission is always to seek and destroy, no matter who steps up before him. Solo Darling isn’t to be counted out though. Her heart is immeasurable, and she can pack a very sharp sting. She’s also no stranger to grappling with guys, she does it quite regularly. Whoever can walk away with a victory here will advance to the next round.

    David Starr vs. Kris Statlander

Our next match-up is also of the intergender variety. David Starr is a man of many nicknames (13 to be exact) and competes around the world on a regular basis. Despite his bravado, underneath all the nicknames and chest hair, is a ton of talent. When one talks about who the ace of Beyond Wrestling is, he is a name that pops up continually. And his opponent quite frankly is out of this world. Kris Statlander is a product of the Create-A-Pro-Wrestler Academy on Long Island. At To Greektown and Beyond, she had a double-count out against Alexia Nicole. At Heavy Lies the Crown though, she beat the also cocky Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF). In her short career, she’s already making a name for herself and turning heads. This one will be one to watch for sure, just to see who the best is of these two.

    Wheeler YUTA vs. Jordynne Grace

The next match for Destination: Uncharted Territory and part of the tournament is Wheeler Yuta taking on Jordynne Grace. Yuta is a young lion who’s been doing good things in Beyond. His match between he and Ophidian is still fresh on my mind. Yuta is also a regular on MLW programming. Thick Momma Pump, Jordynne Grace is on fire right now. She’s one of the newest IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts. Jordynne is also one of the very best wrestlers in the world today. The current PROGRESS Wrestling Women’s Champion is also a twice published author. Just like every match on the card thus far, this is one you do not want to miss out on.

    Chris Dickinson vs. Willow Nightingale

Rounding out the first-round competition is the Dirty Daddy Chris Dickinson taking on Willow Nightingale. While Nightingale’s experience level may pale in comparison to Dickinson, she provides a certain x-factor. She embodies the spirit of the movie the Goonies, never say die. Willow has been taking over on the scene lately, expanding her resume and improving consistently. Chris Dickinson is another one that comes up in the ace category, no matter what promotion he’s competed for. He most recently challenged Orange Cassidy for the Independent Wrestling Championship. Sadly, for Dickinson, he was unsuccessful there. Now though, he has another opportunity to get back in that title picture. He first must go through the Girl with the Big Hair. If Willow were able to upset Dickinson, it could turn the entire tournament in a different direction.

Tickets are still available for Beyond’s Destination: Uncharted Territory. If you can’t make it out to the Rhode Island area, you can tune in to catch every single bit on IndependentWrestling.TV. In addition to the great five matches outlined above, we don’t know what direction the tournament will take. I’ll be tuning in on Sunday, February 24th, will you?
