After a hard-fought contest with James Storm, NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis cut a promo. He said that no man in the world can take the title from him. Suddenly, the lights in GBP Studios in Atlanta, GA go out. The only thing left is the yellow glow of the set pieces. Suddenly in the silence, the opening strains of a familiar theme could be heard. Piano keys and a few woop woops in the crowd for those who figured it out. The lights came up in the studio and at the top of the stairs stood The Villain, Marty Scurll.

Decked to the nines in a suit and a fur coat that would make Dusty Rhodes proud and brandishing his signature umbrella, he arrived in all his glory. He confronted Aldis, whom he unsuccessfully challenged for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship at the Crockett Cup. After a brief stare down, Aldis quickly left the ring and Scurll soaked in the adulation. Scurll then made his way over to the interview area with Dave Marquez. Unfortunately, there was a glitch with the live feed during Marty’s promo. So we don’t know exactly what he said yet, but this writer bets it has something to do with Nick Aldis and the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. You can watch replays of Into The Fire on FITE.TV.

Scurll of course just finished with Ring of Honor Friday night at Final Battle. It had been the subject of much speculation if Marty would leave ROH at all and where he would go. No explicit details have been released at this time regarding Scurll’s official status with the National Wrestling Alliance. Both ROH and the NWA will start their next set of television tapings on Sunday, December 15th. It will be very interesting to see if he appears at either and where this potential huge pick-up can take the fledgling NWA.

Stay tuned to the Pro Wrestling Post for more news, talent spotlights, previews and more.
