In reports circulating late Saturday evening on Saturday May 16th by Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin, former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Drew Gulak was no longer with the WWE. Reports on Drew Gulak’s departure have ranged from a release to simply a contract expiration. Gulak first appeared in the WWE as part of the Cruiserweight Classic in 2016. Despite not being successful in the tournament, he made his mark in the CWC. However, it appears that Drew Gulak has re-signs with WWE. This news was reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.

Upon his arrival, Gulak’s character often would encourage that talent to engage in a ‘No Fly Zone’. This was evident in his feud with Mustafa Ali. His commitment and dedication to catch wrestling isn’t a departure from who he is in the ring. Drew Gulak’s departure is surprising considering he just competed yesterday against former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan.

In a tweet sent earlier Saturday morning, Gulak shared his continued training practices for Daniel Bryan. While accompanied by the hashtag #ThankYouBryan, Gulak aired a video demonstrating a specific workout.

The confirmation of Drew Gulak’s departure didn’t come until the following day. Gulak was recently in a storyline that saw his rivalry with Daniel Bryan turn into mutual respect.

Earlier on Saturday morning, Daniel Bryan shared his thoughts about competing with Gulak the previous night, with the use of “Gulak Metrics”.This tweet below reflected Bryan continuing to follow, Gulak’s guidance and support.

At 35 years of age (as his birthday was this past week), Gulak has continued to gain the respect of his contemporaries. He was a former star in EVOLVE wrestling as a member of Catch Point. He was also was a member of the faction Fourth Gunn. The speculation of is release began to escalate when his profile was moved to the WWE’s alumni section.
