This week’s preview of AEW Rampage is for the week of 5/13/22. It features four matches, including a quarterfinals match in the women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament. The show also involves a singles match with Shawn Spears facing one half of Bear Country in Bear Boulder. There is also a trios match involving members of Andrade Family Office and Death Triangle.
The show will likely conclude with the TNT Championship match between Scorpio Sky and former SCU teammate Frankie Kazarian. Can we expect to see a match where former running buddies keep it down the middle? Here is our AEW Rampage preview for 5/13/22.

Shawn Spears vs. Bear Boulder
Spears has been an admirable second as a member of MJF’s entourage. He will often take a bullet for the salt of the earth. On this night, however, Spears will have a chance to show why he is the Chairman of AEW. But with that role in place and his ties to MJF, the concern is that a certain Wardlow may storm the arena and play a key role in the outcome of this match.
For Bear Boulder, the massive man is one-half of a physically imposing team. It’s that same team that is one that has turned heads on Dark and Elevation. The biggest question now is whether or not he will be able to stand alone against the veteran in Spears.

Death Triangle vs The Butcher, The Blade and Marq Quen
With an early start time on Friday, the action is sure to set the stage for the weekend to come. Among the matches slated to take place is a trios match involving Andrade’s henchmen and Death Triangle. So while these men are likely to put on a spectacular matchup, the question remaining is will the unresolved issues between Death Triangle and House of Black become a factor in this matchup?
For the Butcher, Blade and Marq Quen they could swoop in and get the better of PAC, Fenix and Penta. Will what could happen happen in this matchup? Tune in on Friday at 5:30 pm eastern to find out.

Riho vs Ruby Soho
The Owen Hart Foundation
Women’s Tournament Quarterfinal
Now that the women’s portion of the tournament has begun the matchups slated to take place should be quite exciting. One of these matches includes the former AEW Women’s Champion, Riho against ‘the runaway’ Ruby Soho. This match is quite important not just for the former women’s champion but for Soho as well.
Since her arrival it feels as though Soho has been one to be close on occasion without being the one to get over the hump and capture gold. So while Soho has that narrative following her it is is Riho that returns with the need to once again resume her role as a prominent performer in the AEW women’s division.

TNT Championship
Scorpio Sky (c) vs. Frankie Kazarian
When two veterans have a chance to close out the show the result should be something special. To Sky’s credit his time atop as the TNT Champion has been a longtime coming. Sky along with Kazarian and Daniels made up SCU and became successful in the process. Those times are gone however and what remains is each man looking to reach the top of alone.
With the exception of Daniels who has taken on more of a secondary on-screen role, Sky and Kazarian will have a chance to put on a highly competitive matchup. That said, a number of external variables could play a factor in this match likely leading to a match that won’t end up as fans would hope. Will Ethan Page and Dan Lambert be factors in this match? Could the once-solid friendship mean that there is no turning back now?
