As we preview AEW Rampage for 3/18/22, four matches were announced this week. Two of the four matches appear to have more ties to built-up animosity. The third of the matches appears to be more out of the blue. The fourth match seems to have seeds planted for something more. On the heels of this past week’s Dynamite seeds appear to be moving forward for new storylines. This week’s show also has a special start time slated.

It also means that new talent hopes to be pushed further, and current champions hope to sustain their current holds as champions. So, what of the matches on tap are fans most looking forward to on this week’s edition of AEW Rampage?

In AEW, everyone should get an opportunity. But if the booking of this match indicates, its somewhat of a challenge in seeing that Bear Country and Fuego Del Sol have a ‘chance.’ To the credit of Buddy Matthews, Brody King, and Malakai Black, they’re on a quest to dominate trios matches. Bear Country is a physically formidable team with great success on the independent circuit. The same could be said about Fuego, who has become a sentimental favorite in AEW.

While they came off the heels of AEW Revolution against Erick Redbeard, Penta Oscuro, and Pac, does that end it with them? Will there be any sign of The Dark Triangle to re-emerge in some way, shape, or form?

The ongoing storyline between AFO and Sting, Darby Allin, and The Hardy’s will continue forward. As it appears, the next battle standing in front of Darby Allin is one half of The Butcher and the Blade tandem. The Butcher’s recent body transformation should be applauded. His commitment to changing his diet, training, and ring work is evident.

With The Blade by his side, he has a constant in which he is able to lean in to grow. The same could be said about Allin, who has the icon Sting with him. He is one that can provide him with advice. The intangible’s in this match are the remaining members of the Andrade Family Office, such as Andrade, Private Party, and The Bunny. For Allin, much like Sting being in his corner, they will need reinforcements in Matt and Jeff Hardy to also be a factor.

Could this entire match break down by the end of it?

After Hirsch’s recent match against Thunder Rosa, she is certain to want to gain revenge. As Leyla faced Thunder Rosa in a number one contender’s match for the title, it was a distraction that led to her defeat. They’ve had issues with one another, but those issues cost Hirsch an opportunity this time. For Red Velvet, she wants to make a statement and be considered a threat in the women’s division as well.

Will this be the night that Velvet once again gets into Hirsch’s head, or will she face being stretched at the hands of Leyla?

    Max Caster vs. Keith Lee

This past week it was announced that Lee was going to face one half of The Acclaimed’s Max Castor. During this segment, we heard Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs get involved. Fans also caught Swerve Strickland getting involved saying that he will prove it is Swerve’s House. Whether or not this scenario of Strickland & Lee joining forces against The Acclaimed and Team Taz is another story.

However, if it does happen, one has to wonder if an old foe gets involved. Brian Cage recently re-signed with AEW and, in doing so, has a history with Team Taz. That history does play into an interesting scenario for all involved.

    What To Expect

    • Tension with reDRagon, The Young Bucks, and Adam Cole continue
    • Britt Baker addresses her AEW Women’s Championship loss
    • Jade Cardgill’s next threat for the TBS Championship answers the call.
