On this week’s AEW Dynamite, it is time for Wild Card Wednesday with AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 5/18/22! So who will be the Jokers in the Men’s and Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournaments?

This year’s AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view is just ten days away now. On this week’s AEW Dynamite, we see the continuation of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournaments. Tonight’s show also features a face-to-face confrontation between two old rivals and the AEW World Champion in action. Can it match the success of last week’s shows? Let us find out more about the huge show in Houston in the latest edition of AEW Ignite.

Wardlow Takes 10 Lashes from MJF

On last week’s AEW Dynamite, MJF agreed to the terms for a match against Wardlow at  Double or Nothing. Unfortunately, one of the conditions was a familiar one from a past feud. So on Wednesday night, it is time for Wardlow to take ten lashes from MJF.

The last time MJF gave ten lashes in a feud was against Cody Rhodes. It was certainly an emotional and painful moment in AEW history. How will Wardlow fare with a similar punishment? It seems likely that Wardlow can handle any literal beating that MJF gives out. Does MJF have something else up his sleeve for AEW Dynamite?

Chris Jericho & William Regal’s Face to Face Confrontation

The odds are now even. The Jericho Appreciation Society has been enjoying a numbers advantage over Eddie Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz for months now. But on last week’s show, the Blackpool Combat Club helped to even the score against the JAS. What comes next after that shocking moment?

One of the biggest surprises of the Blackpool Combat Club getting involved was William Regal’s physical involvement with a blow to Chris Jericho. The 39-year veteran Regal has had a long and interesting history with Jericho. So what will happen this week as they meet face to face? With two of the best talkers in professional wrestling, it should be a lot of fun.

    Hangman Page vs.
    Konosuke Takeshita

It is time for the AEW World Champion to be in action just ten days before Double or Nothing. Hangman Page has gotten himself quite a challenge on Wednesday night. It is DDT’s own Konosuke Takeshita.

At the young age of 26 years old, Takeshita is already one of the most accomplished wrestlers in DDT Wrestling. He even gave Jay Lethal a great match on a recent AEW Rampage. With CM Punk watching from commentary, Takeshita will be a dangerous test for Hangman Page. He could be ripe for a huge upset on AEW Dynamite if he is looking ahead.

    Kyle O’Reilly vs. Rey Fenix
(Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament Quarterfinal)

In this exciting quarterfinal match-up, it is the battle of tag team specialists. Kyle O’Reilly of ReDragon is undoubtedly known for his tag team prowess. But he has had a lot of singles success in ROH and NXT over the past few years as well. He will be ready for the dangerous Rey Fenix.

Fenix is certainly known for his amazing tag teamwork with the Lucha Brothers in AEW. His high flying style will be quite a contrast against the dangerous ground game of O’Reilly. This certainly could be a sleeper hit on Wednesday night.

    Samoa Joe vs. Joker
(Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament Quarterfinal)

Samoa Joe has had a lot of success since joining the company in April. He quickly won the ROH Television Title and has successfully defended it as well on AEW Rampage. It is time for Joe to enter the Owen Hart Foundation tournament.

But Joe has a big surprise in his opening match. He will face an unknown “Joker.” Who could it possibly be? Could it be a returning wrestler? Or will a new face emerge to face Samoa Joe? It will certainly be an exciting moment on Wednesday night.

    Britt Baker vs. Joker

(Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Quarterfinal)

We have a second Joker match on AEW Dynamite! Britt Baker, on the heels of losing the AEW Women’s World Championship, qualified for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Her reward is facing an unknown opponent in her opening match.

This could be an opportunity for a debuting talent. There are a lot of exciting and talented possibilities that are not on the All Elite Wrestling roster at this time. With the prize of a semifinal match-up against Toni Storm on the line, this will be a huge opportunity in the talented AEW Women’s Division.

    Adam Cole vs. Jeff Hardy
(Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament Semifinal)

The main event for AEW Dynamite is a huge semifinal match in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. It is Adam Cole versus Jeff Hardy for a spot in the finals of the tournament. The stakes couldn’t be higher.

The question is, who is physically ready for this colossal match-up. While Cole defeated Harwood in a tough match-up, Hardy was in a far more difficult match. He battled Darby Allin in an Anything Goes Match. That quarterfinal match had to put a huge physical toll on Hardy. Can he recover in time for Adam Cole? It will be an exciting way to end a huge night on Dynamite.

    What Else To Expect:

    • Who are the Jokers for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament?
    • Will the feud between Thunder Rosa and Serena Deeb intensify on Wednesday night?
    • Will we learn more about AEW Double or Nothing?
