For months, wrestling promotions have been postponing, delaying and even canceling shows due to the Coronavirus. As time has passed, wrestling companies across the country have adapted and have slowly started having shows again. Some have been in front of empty arenas streaming online. Others have been in front of crowds with restrictive social distancing guidelines in play. With that in mind, this weekend is chock-full of wrestling shows. Out of all the wrestling shows taking place this weekend, one is bringing together talent from across the country. Showcasing wrestlers from a plethora of wrestling promotions. That show is the Black Wrestlers Matter Show this Saturday, August 22.

Taking place from Franklin Jr High in Des Moines, Iowa the show will stream live on iPPV. The show is a fundraiser for Knowledge is Power: Fund DSM Leaders of Tomorrow. Showcasing some of the top black professional wrestlers from across the country, the card is fully loaded.

    Black Wrestlers Matter Pre-Show

    Ty Ray vs SK Bishop

The first pre-show match will be a battle between the west coast and the midwest. Ty Ray of California travels to Des Moines this Saturday to take on the Kansas based SK Bishop. Both of these up-and-comers are looking to make an impact and have the prime opportunity in one of the first matches of the night.

    #FORTHECULTURE Rumble

Wrestling fans know how unpredictable battle royal’s can be and this one has all the ingredients for a wild one. Featuring a bevy of personalities, the #Fortheculture Rumble is a can’t miss battle royal.

Some of the wrestlers competing in the #Forthecultutre Rumble are Con Artist, Alexander Knight, Leonard Literacy, Mike Strong, Keith Mack, The Realist – Calvin Aldridge, Kyle King, The EWOKK, The African Prince ALI, Darrien Sanders, De’Lorian “Time Traveler, Chirs “Wildcard” Mercer and “The Charm” Quay’ Von Orlando.

    Black Wrestlers Matter

Isaiah Broner vs Voodoo King Mojo McQueen

    Photo @blackwrestlersmatter

Originally scheduled for the #Fortheculture battle royal, McQueen is stepping in to take on Broner as “Shogun” Chris Logan is no longer competing. If you like hard-hitting action in your professional wrestling then this match is for you. Both men bring the pain in their own unique way. Can the no-nonsense Broner out power his opponent or will the strange ways of Mojo McQueen prevail? Either way, these two will hold nothing back.

    Black Wrestlers Matter

    Fatal Four Way

Angel Dorado vs Stephen Wolf vs Kal Creed vs Shane Foster

    Photo @blackwrestlersmatter

Athleticism personified are the two words that sum up this potential classic. It’s ironic that NXT is putting on a show Saturday night, as this match would feel right at home on an NXT card. The fans are in for a treat with this one.

    Black Wrestlers Matter

    Tag Team Match

    Alpha Omega vs Technical Difficulties

    Photo @blackwrestlersmatter

The team of Camaro Jackson and Kenny Alfonzo are collectively known as Alpha Omega have been teaming together for years. Bringing a veteran attitude with them to Des Moines this Saturday they take on the fresh-faced team of Technical Difficulties. The action in this one will be non-stop as tag team excellence will be on display.

    Black Wrestlers Matter

    Triple Threat Match

The Queen Bee Brooke Valentine vs Seishin vs Joseline Navarro

    Photo @blackwrestlersmatter

The ladies take center stage in this match-up and this triple threat features three wrestlers on the rise. Holding a black belt in karate, Seishin brings one of the most unique offensive styles to this contest. Wrestling since she was 20, Joseline Navarro brings the nastiness to the ring, never afraid to pull out all the stops for victory.

Both Seishin and Navarro have stepped in the ring with one of the toughest women in pro wrestling history, Jazz. So you know they are both doubly tough. Making her name across them midwest, The Queen Bee Brooke Valentine is wrestling in front of a home crowd this Saturday. Her set of skills have brought her success in every promotion she has competed in. A win on Saturday would be a huge momentum push towards the second half of 2020.

    Black Wrestlers Matter

    Devon Monroe vs Faye Jackson

The charisma in this match is off the charts. Devon Monroe brings a high energy, fast-paced style to the ring. Making it his personal quest to stand out every time he steps in the squared circle. With a massive social media following, Faye Jackson might be the most charismatic star on the show. The contrast in styles will make for an extremely entertaining match.

    Black Wrestlers Matter

Air Wolf vs “The Frontman” Jah C

    Photo @blackwrestlersmatter

When looking for a possible show-stealer, look no further than this match. Both men are considered two of the top independent wrestlers on the rise. Both men feel they are the better professional wrestler and both men want to steal the show. They met earlier this year with Air Wolf emerging victorious. The two have traded barbs on social media recently giving this match a little bit of bad blood. This one has all the goods.

    Black Wrestlers Matter

“The American Fury” Jon West vs Mike Outlaw

    Photo @blackwrestlersmatter

Two grizzled veterans stepping inside the squared circle to see who is the better man. It’s a tale as old as time within the world of professional wrestling and this Saturday it is one of the feature bouts. These two have won championships everywhere they have wrestled and both are fully confident in their abilities. The intensity in this match will be palpable as this match will have that big fight feel wrestlers crave.

    Black Wrestlers Matter

ACH vs “The Real McCoy” JDX

    Black Wrestlers Matter
    Photo @blackwrestlersmatter

This is the big one. The show-closer, the main event and boy is it set to deliver. In one corner we have ACH, one of, if not the biggest star on the independent wrestling scene. With a decade under his belt, the accolades speak for themselves. Facing him in other corner we have “The Real McCoy” JDX. An indie star riding a rocket ship to superstardom. With just three years under his belt, he continues to impress every time he steps in the ring.

JDX looks up to ACH but now he wants to surpass his idol, but the total package that is ACH won’t make it easy. Either way, the main event of the Black Wrestlers Matter show will send the fans home happy.
