WWE & Converse Limited Edition Sneakers
This that really know me, know that I adore sneakers. Almost as my love of wrestling. This is good as Converse announced this week that they have teamed up with WWE to produce a special edition Chuck Taylor collection. The kicks went on sale this past Friday at the flagship Foot Locker store and at footlocker.ca. Intrigued as to what they look like? Well, worry no more as here they are along with the Tweet from WWE announcing the collection –
Limited edition custom @Converse kicks inspired by @BretHart, @BeckyLynchWWE, @TrueKofi, and @ShawnMichaels will be available EXCLUSIVELY at @footlocker's flagship store and https://t.co/rP5QY814sS THIS FRIDAY! https://t.co/nXSsaNKTyG

Current WWE Champion and New Day member Kofi Kingston has these great looking high tops:
Not to be outdone, WWE Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch has some sweet looking “The Man” inspired low top sneakers:
The Showstopper, Mr. WrestleMania, The Heart Break Kid, Shawn Michaels is up next with these
And last but by no means least, is Bret “The Hitman” Hart with my most favorite pair of the collection:
Now if you don’t hear from me for a while, it’s because I’m looking for my wallet to get these bad boys in my life!
Cody Rhodes Interview – Stephen Amell, All Out, Dusty Rhodes
All Elite Wrestling’s Cody Rhodes spoke with Bill Apter on The Apter Chat podcast recently and talked about all things AEW, including All Out, what his father Dusty would think about AEW’s growth and if Stephen Amell would appear in AEW TV in the future.
The week leading up to All Out:
“It sounds like I’m going to be in Chicago for the whole week because I’ll be there Thursday at the one-hour tees storefront. I’ll be at Starrcast on Thursday evening. I’ll be at All Out on Saturday at the Sears Centre: the place where it all began. And then I’ll finish with Starrcast on Sunday. I’m just happy that it’s become another destination… the fact that we get to go do this again. And it sounds like maybe we’ll be able to do it again, and again, and again. That speaks to the fan base and the hunger that’s existed, and it’s been underneath the surface and it finally bursts through. All Out is the perfect jumping-off point for All Elite Wrestling.”
Will Arrow’s Stephen Amell appear on AEW programming:
“They’ve just done a great job with Arrow, and Stephen, you know, he’s a wrestler at this point. That’s what we say. He’s had a few matches and earned the respect of a rather critical fanbase: the wrestling one. I’m just glad I get to see him go out in the show on such a high note. I can’t wait to see what he does next.
I get the impression that his lovely wife is not super excited about him mixing it up in the ring again, and I’ve got to say that I fully understand that. But I think he’d always be safe in terms of doing something with his “The Elite” brethren if that makes any sense. I think there’s definitely one more in the tank for Stephen when it comes to wrestling, and I’m not going to let him wrestle anywhere else. He’s kind of involved, he’s part of the fabrics.”
How would his father Dusty Rhodes react to AEW’s incredible growth:
“I think a lot though about what I would tell him if I had a few minutes to say, like, ‘Hey, look at all this stuff that’s happened since 2015.’ And I think it’s so much stuff that I wouldn’t even be able to catch him up in any way. I knew he was a big fan of all things wrestling and not always the things that his generation were fans of. He had kind of an eye for the sizzle – not kind of an eye, a big eye. And yeah, I think this may be a rare time when Dusty would have been, dare I say, speechless over something going on.”
Storm Wrestling Academy To Close It’s Doors At The End Of This Year
In some rather shocking news, Lance Storm posted (seen below) on his Twitter account that his September 2019 class will be the last class taught under the SWA banner. As he stated in the announcement, he’s done not with wrestling and he will make a future announcement in regards to what he does next in the industry –

Lance founded the school in 2005 and he has trained many, many famous faces that you would know. Those same faces and others reacted to Lance’s news –
Crazy to think lance has been training for 15 years already! I owe him a lot! https://t.co/anJpWi1azG
— Prince Pretty (@MmmGorgeous) August 9, 2019
The final SWA session begins on my birthday! Same session I took in September of 2017. Do yourself a favor and catch this last class while you can! https://t.co/CtTlzmuz6d

Well this is a loss to some potential future wrestlers. You were always the first recommendation I always gave. Your success rate was amazing and reflects your teaching…. but looking forward to hearing more https://t.co/3ONMZOCBUd

Training at SWA changed my life and set me up for the path my career would take. I’m forever thankful for everything I learned there and the continued support @LanceStorm has for me in and out of the ring. Thank you Lance for believing in me, thank you SWA for everything. ❤️ https://t.co/eQWL686T4A

Paige To Undergo Neck Surgery Once More
Kabuki Warriors manager and former WWE Diva Paige had to cancel her Summer Slam Meet & Greet this past Friday, leaving many fans upset and annoyed at the lack of notice.
My apologies. Unfortunately I have to go see my doctor about my neck and my health takes a big priority. Please apologize to your wife from me. ?? https://t.co/LUbE5BbyRG
— PAIGE (@RealPaigeWWE) August 8, 2019
As you can see in her reply, she has had neck issues recently that needed to be looked at. Paige made an Instagram post detailing more about the appointment and what the outcome was:
Many of her friends posted supportive messages to her including Mandy Rose, Natalya, and Nia Jax.
Seeing such legends as Steve Austin, Kurt Angle and Edge live fruitful lives after surgery will be a huge benefit to Paige I’m sure.
That’s it for today’s Pro Wrestling Post Week In Review for 8/11/19. Some great little nuggets of news if I do say so myself. As always I thank you all for reading not only my work but all the work here at PWP each and every week. It doesn’t go unnoticed. We’ll see you back next week for another edition of Week in Review!
