Colt Cabana v CM Punk?
Our first story for the week in review involves two longtime ‘friends’. After the lengthy courtroom drama that both men have been through recently, it must have been thought that both CM Punk and Colt Cabana would have had enough of the courts and lawsuits… But news leaked this week that it may not be the case.
It sounds like that the once very tight friendship of both men may be broken after it was revealed that Colt had served Punk this week with paper alleging fraud and breach of contract.
The lawsuit says that Punk told Cabana in a text message that he would pay for the legal fees so they could fight the defamation suit from Dr. Amann together.
As time went on and the legal fees ended up at over half a million dollars, Punk then allegedly went back on his word and told Colt that he was going to be liable for his part of the fees.
Stated in an email in the suit, Punk stated “whatever my bill is currently will be cut in half and half will be yours. If you choose to make this ugly, that’s fine too. I hope you won’t but I gave up on you doing what is right a long time ago.”
Those fees ended up at $513,736.
Cabana is looking for $200,000 in damages and $1,000,000 in punitive and exemplary damages.
If this goes against Punk, maybe he’ll have to bite the bullet and go “All In” into the squared circle again??
Matt Hardy Retiring?
The Broken One has been dropping some strange tweets recently. Thanking fans for their support over the years and another stating that his lower back and pelvis have begun to fuse together.
Don’t approach the final chapter of a book with sadness.. Approach it with an appreciation for the enjoyment that you’ve obtained from it, as well as the excitement that comes from beginning a new, different book.

Many people are putting two and two together and getting a soon announced retirement.
This maneuver was called EVENT OMEGA..
And is most likely the reason that I’ve recently learned that my lower back & pelvis have started fusing together. https://t.co/FzYebvIIc0

But the wisest one in pro wrestling, Dave Meltzer (I hope you’re sensing the sarcasm at the beginning of this sentence), wrote on his website that Hardy is not retiring but sowing the seeds that he won’t be wrestling forever.
Matt has been wrestling in some amount of pain over the past year or so but hopefully his new rehab treatment will help with that and prolong his career just that little bit more.
Sam Adonis Promo Disgust
Our last story on the week in review involves a brother of a notable announcer and a notable wrestling promotion in the UK. Last Sunday, Revolution Pro Wrestling held an event in London, England that will go down in history for all the wrong reasons.
Sam Adonis, the brother of WWE announcer Corey Graves, was scheduled for a run in after a bout at the show and was supposed to cut a promo on the crowd. What actually took place was a very controversial promo that was aimed at the live crowd, in what I can only suppose was to garner heat.
An audience member took to Twitter to clarify the situation as shown below –
Sam Adonis turned up, told an audience member to suck some white stuff out of something other than a pastry, said something along the lines of British audience members behaving like they have down syndrome (I'd stopped listening properly) and called an audience member a f*ggot.

As you can see, that didn’t go down too well with the UK crowd, or crowds in 2018 in general.
The very next day Rev Pro released this statement via Twitter to clarify the situation and the working relationship with Adonis moving forward –

Adonis had obviously misjudged the crowd and likened it to crowds back in Mexico where he’s been predominantly working for quite a while and are used to that kind of heat-seeking promo.
Tama Tonga Social Media Ban
New Japan Pro Wrestling announced on the 7th August that Tama Tonga was to be disciplined for “inappropriate conduct using social networking services usage”.

All of this came about from being very volatile and vicious on his twitter account. So much so that he was given a brief ban by Twitter themselves. Don’t believe me? Check his timeline (insert link to Tama’s profile) over the last month and see for yourself how he’s been to fans across the world.
Undeterred, he came back from the ban and carried on being his nasty recent self. He has even been “hands-on” with a fan at a recent NJPW G1 event. There’s been no word from NJPW on what his punishment will be as of yet.
Is this a work or a shoot? In a week where the lines have been blurred more than a few times (see earlier story), many are asking that same question. Was the fan that was choked out by Tama Tonga a plant? Who knows. But what we do know is that Tama is obviously relishing this new prominent role, putting himself and NJPW in the news multiple times over the past few weeks.
