Marc: On Sunday, April 20th, the WWE presents WrestleMania 41 Night 2. And on this second night of WrestleMania 41, the WWE has several matches that are likely to change the trajectory of storylines and the promotion for the balance of 2025 and beyond.
With night 1 soon to be over, it is on to the second night to preview what to anticipate. Four title matches are scheduled between the men’s and women’s divisions.
The event will ultimately culminate with the main event between Undisputed Universal Champion Cody Rhodes and John Cena.
WrestleMania 41 Night 2
WWE Women’s World Championship Match
IYO SKY (c) vs. Bianca Belair vs. Rhea Ripley
Kelly: Sky pulled off the upset on the Raw after Elimination Chamber by defeating Ripley for the title. She now carries it into WrestleMania.
Belair won the Elimination Chamber match to earn her opportunity to face whomever the World Champion would be at WrestleMania.
Ripley is looking for her championship rematch. Can Sky retain her title? Will Mami regain her title? Can Belair pull off the victory and win the title?
Marc: Everything that Kelly shared was accurate! From who won when and how to where there is absolutely no lies shared in what took place leading into this match.
That said, the biggest issue likely going in is ‘deserving’. At this time, the value that Rhea Ripley brings to the match, her role in it, and her importance as a threat aren’t without question.
But if the question is on merit, does Rhea Ripley deserve a second rematch? In saying a second re-match, we are acknowledging that she did face IYO, who was the champion at the time, and lost with Bianca Belair as the referee.
After this past week’s in-ring segment on SmackDown, Belair was being jeered, and IYO Sky wasn’t able to air her grievances. Will this be the night the Genius of the Sky lets her actions speak louder than words?
WrestleMania 41 Night 2
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match
Raquel Rodriguez & Liv Morgan (c) vs. Bayley & Lyra Valkyria
Kelly: Bayley and Valkyria won a gauntlet match on Smackdown to earn this WrestleMania title match. Valkyria’s WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship is not on the line in this match.
Bayley and Valkyria recently squared off for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship before deciding to team up for the tag team titles.
Will they be successful and make Valkyria a double champion? Will the Judgment Day members pull off yet another win?
Marc: Kelly asked an interesting question about Valkyria becoming a double champion. To do that would suggest the company has a great deal of faith in her and it is that faith that would be rewarded.
Is having Lyra be a double champion a benefit for her or a benefit for one of the longest serving women in the division in Bayley?
What is interesting here is that both teams have a member with a clear strength. While all four are exceptionally talented in the ring, Liv’s charisma on the mic and Bayley’s longstanding connection with the fans appear to be where both shine.
Raquel’s strength and Lyra’s technical prowess are strengths as well. Who among them walks away as the champions? Kelly asked the question, and we’re all wondering.
WrestleMania 41 Night 2
Sin City Street Fight
Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest
Kelly: Last year at WrestleMania 40, Priest successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank contract right after McIntyre won the World Heavyweight Championship.
Now, McIntyre looks to settle the score in a Sin City Street Fight. Will McIntyre gain a measure of revenge? Will Priest be able to come out on top?
Marc: Whether or not this was long-term storytelling or the plan from the get go, the result has been this story arc where these two face each other again at WrestleMania.
Kelly makes an interesting point about McIntyre wanting to settle the score. Will he be outshone by Priest once again, or will McIntyre share why he may have been the low-key most valuable player on the men’s roster in 2024?
For Priest this is an opportunity to elevate himself, prove that he can be a force and make an impression moving into the rest of 2025 and beyond.
Both of these men are former champions, and a win here could put them once again in that category as challengers for the title.
WrestleMania 41 Night 2
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
Bron Breakker (c) vs. Penta vs. Finn Balor vs. Dominik Mysterio
Kelly: Is it even possible that a match has the right winner regardless of who wins it? In this fatal four way, any of them would be the right choice to win.
Can Penta capture his first title in WWE? Can Breakker retain against all odds? Balor is looking for more singles gold for the Judgment Day. Will Mysterio capture is first main roster singles title for Judgment Day?
Marc: ‘Kelly is money!’ That has to be the chant when reading his question about whether any of these guys could walk out the winner.
Any of these guys with how they have been presented, their place on the card, and how each have had equal opportunities to shine make them a viable choice.
But if the Math is right, Bron Breakker looks to retain the title. After you consider how he added and subtracted the odds from his opposition it would be impossible for him not to!
Prior to this write up the odds gave Bron Breakker the best odds and a 155% chance of winning. With odds like that, who would argue it?
WrestleMania 41 Night 2
AJ Styles vs. Logan Paul
Kelly: Styles called Paul out and issued the challenge. Paul has his WrestleMania match. Will the crafty Paul sneak out with the win? Can Styles overcome the cocky Paul?
Marc: This match has a chance to be the one that will entertain fans the most. Between what fans have seen Logan Paul do and what fans know AJ Styles is capable of, it has all the makings of as the kids call a banger!
With Styles being injured a couple of times over the past year, it has likely hurt his place on the card and the feuds or matches that he would have had.
But in this case we have the established Phenominal One with the emerging Phenominal one. Would this be a passing of the torch or will AJ Styles once again….get ready to fly?
WrestleMania 41 Night 2
Open Challenge
Randy Orton vs ??
Kelly: With Night 1 having 7 matches and Night 2 only 6, it is safe to assume that the cancelled Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens match would have taken place on Night 2.
Orton told Smackdown GM Nick Aldis to find him an opponent and he would be ready to go. Solo Sikoa seemingly stepped up to the plate.
Given Orton’s history with the Bloodline, will Aldis make this official? Or, will Orton and Sikoa be sitting out this year’s event?
Marc: Kelly is right! Night two didn’t officially announce seven matches, nor did Nick Aldis make a seventh one official. But after this week’s edition of SmackDown, Randy Orton shared the importance of competing in this year’s WrestleMania.
What Orton also did was offer an open challenge to anyone in the back or anyone in Vegas. In saying that, my daughter offered to take him up on his challenge, but with the cost of flights and getting a red eye, lack of official wrestling training, and, oh well, not wanting my 9-year-old RKOed, we decided against it.
This begs the question: Who will accept Orton’s challenge? Kelly brings up an interesting point about Sikoa being a potential opponent.
Whomever it is, they want to ensure that the reaction the reveal illicit isn’t underwhelming and disappoints those in attendance.
WrestleMania 41 Night 2
Undisputed WWE Championship Match
Cody Rhodes (c) vs. John Cena
Kelly: John Cena not only won the Elimination Chamber match to earn the opportunity to face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania, but he also pulled off the heel turn of the century that very night.
Rhodes is standing in Cena’s way for #17. Where will The Rock figure into the match? Can Rhodes prevent #17 from happening at his expense? Will Cena go all in and bet the house to capture #17?
Marc: As Kelly shared above, John Cena won the Elimination Chamber and punched his ticket to face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania. After that came the big heel turn, which is the reason why Cena did what he did.
What was missing during this entire buildup was the inclusion of The Rock and his role in all of this. That was until this past week’s SmackDown when we witnessed Cena mention The Rock and why it was all so easy for him to know he could beat Cody at WrestleMania.
The Vegas crowd was mixed at best when it came to their reaction of the champion and challenger. Could we see the script flipped again like it was back at WrestleMania X8? Will the face of the company succumb to the face that once ran the place?
