On Saturday, August 29th, the WWF/E presented SummerSlam 92 from Wembley Stadium in London, England. This edition was unique in that the airdate didn’t match the date it took place.
As mentioned, it took place on August 29th; however, it didn’t air until two days later, on Monday, August 31st, 1992, on tape delay.
Long before the internet had the opportunity to spoil results, the World Wrestling Federation kept things close to the chest, not releasing information until it was ready.
It was unquestionably a remarkable feat and the first major WWF pay-per-view event to take place outside of North America.
With several English fans sharing their admiration and asking what they believe will happen, cameras pan through the crowd as they file in.
We then see trumpets being played. Vince McMahon announced 80,000 fans were in attendance as he and Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan were on commentary.
We were eventually made aware that attendance was closer to 78,000. With the tagline of ‘The SummerSlam You Never Thought You’d See’, it begins almost right away…

WWF Tag Team match
Money Inc with Jimmy ‘the Mouth of the South’ Hart vs Legion of Doom with Paul Ellering and Rocco.
Before the match began, we hear IRS share that if the English paid their taxes, then it wouldn’t be such a burden on the royal family.
It is at this time that we hear the familiar ‘Oh, what a rush ‘ call from Hawk as they, along with Paul Ellering and Rocco, make their way to the ring on motorcycles.
The match starts with Ted DiBiase and Hawk. The fans in attendance are loud and proud leading into this match. DiBiase gets the early advantage, but as soon as the tide turns, he runs out of the ring.
This leads Animal to get involved and take it out on DiBiase. This leads to IRS getting tagged into the match along with Animal. IRS begins to lay into Animal, but it’s momentary.
Animal stood on IRS’s tie and then got pressed. DiBiase tries to make it into the ring, but Hawk is tagged in, and he works over IRS.
IRS then recovers and gets a sleeper on Hawk, but fans are cheering him on to recover. Hawk is being worn down in the middle of the ring.
Fans begin to chant LOD, and the referee is checking on Hawk, who doesn’t drop his arm a third time. Hawk then fights it off and charges after IRS.
Hawk then climbs the top rope to hit a clothesline and misses, leading to him falling outside of the ring. With the referee distracted, DiBiase works over Hawk at ringside.
DiBiase is then tagged in and continues to work over Hawk. Hawk is then worked over with IRS now in the ring. IRS hits repeated elbow drops on Hawk. DiBiase is then tagged into the match.
Frequent tags are made, then with IRS tagged in again as fans continue to chant. DiBiase then wears down Hawk with a rear chinlock. But IRS sneaks with the referee’s back turned and does the same thing to Hawk.
DiBiase is tagged in and continues to work over Hawk, who recovers and struggles to make his way to his corner but is cut off. IRS is back in, and he works over Hawk.
But Hawk hits a clothesline, taking down both him and IRS. But DiBiase works over Hawk, who is trying to make the tag, and does, but the referee doesn’t see it. A double clothesline takes out IRS and Hawk.
IRS crawls to his corner, but Hawk makes the hot tag to Animal, who takes out both IRS and DiBiase. They try to double tag Animal, who takes them out. Both Hawk and Animal work over DiBiase.
As Animal tries to set up for the Doomsday Device, Jimmy Hart distracts the referee. But it doesn’t stop LOD from continuing their attack. Eventually, Animal hits a powerslam and cover for the win.
Winners: Legion of Doom
After the match, we get a replay of the result and then have it thrown over to Mean Gene Okerlund, who has ‘Nature Boy’ Ric Flair backstage.
Flair expressed his frustration after not having the chance to face Randy Savage for the title. He shared that he is wearing his gear because he always needs to be ready.
He is then asked about Mr. Perfect, who would be in the corner of either Randy Savage or the Ultimate Warrior. Flair is then asked whose corner Mr. Perfect will be in, and he doesn’t answer. The answer is that Perfect is in the corner of the winner, whoever that may be.
Sean Mooney is backstage, interviewing Virgil in preparation for his upcoming match against Nailz. Virgil says he is too legit to quit and is set for action.

Nailz vs. Virgil
Nailz is already waiting in the ring, awaiting Virgil, who is coming down to the ring, much to the delight of those in attendance.
The bell rings, and Nailz and Virgil exchange a few blows back and forth, but the convict won’t go down. Nailz then chokes Virgil. He continues choking Virgil, then throws him to the floor.
Nailz then pursues Virgil to the floor and works him over at ringside. He then climbs back into the ring to stop the count and then rolls out again to work over Virgil.
He then returns to the ring and tosses Virgil in the ring. Virgil tries to mount a comeback, but Nailz stops him. Nailz then gets Virgil in a sleeper hold, to which the referee calls for the bell.
Winner: Nailz
After the match, Nailz has the nightstick that belongs to the Big Bossman and then uses it to hit Virgil and choke him down. Tony Garea rolls Virgil out of the ring.
Lord Alfred Hayes is then shown outside the dressing room of the ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage. He knocks and then slams on the door, but can’t confirm whether or not Mr. Perfect is behind the locked door. Hayes says he will continue his investigation for his whereabouts.
Mean Gene Okerlund is now backstage with Sensational Sherri discussing how this match all came about. We then see previous video of Shawn Michaels at ringside during Rick ‘The Model’ Martel’s match against Bret Hart. Martel had Hart in a Boston Crab.
All of a sudden, Michaels begins throwing punches at Hart, who is prone right in front of the referee, leading to a disqualification.
Martel believes he has won the match because his back is turned when the referee calls for the bell. Michaels continues his assault on Bret Hart, but, unbeknownst to Martel, he raises his hands, believing he was victorious.
As a follow-up, Martel comes down to the ringside during Michaels’ match, to which Martel gave Sensational Sherri a wink while at ringside.
Sherri’s eyes widened as Mean Gene put it; she appeared alarmed. But she winked back, and Martel headed back up the aisle.
We then see Sherri come down to ringside during another one of Martel’s matches, smiling. Mean Gene then asked about the stipulation of no hitting in the face, which was Sherri’s ask for this match, as she believed neither man was too good-looking to be hurt.

Rick ‘The Model’ Martel vs. ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ Shawn Michaels with Sensational Sherri
Martel is already in the ring awaiting his opponent. Michaels then makes his way to the ring with Sherri, who is holding a mirror in her hand as they walk down the aisle.
Martel looks on as Sherri helps disrobe Shawn Michaels. The bell rings, and the two men lock up, and it begins with a standing side headlock.
Martel avoids Michaels with a cartwheel. Another side headlock, and then Michaels hits a dropkick on Martel, who recovered and put the boots to Michaels.
Michaels then avoids a crossbody off the second rope from Martel. Michaels then has a wristlock, followed by an armbar. But both men exchange hair pulls.
Martel then throws Michaels over the top rope to the floor. We then see Sherri attending to Michaels, with Martel taking her by the hand, hugging her, and then following Michaels.
He then hits a back body drop on Michaels in the ring. Martel avoids a right hand, and both men attempt roll-ups by pulling the tights, but to no avail.
Michaels then goes for a cover, and Martel kicks out at two. Michaels gets his feet up and attempts to pin Martel with his feet up on the ropes.
Both men are attempting to get the better of each other, and slapping each other in the face, and Sherri faints. Both Martel and Michaels stop as Sherri just collapsed.
Michaels is tending to her and begins to do CPR, but Michaels throws a right hand, and both are fighting up the aisleway. Sherri comes to and sees both men fighting up the aisleway. The referee then counts both men out.
Winner: No contest – double countout.
The referees are pulling these two apart. Michaels makes his way back to the ringside to get to Sherri. Martel then takes down Michaels, picks up Sherri, and leaves with her in his arms.
But Michaels then decks Martel from behind, knocking both Sherri and Martel to the ground. The referees are escorting Martel to the backstage area.
Michaels then carries Sherri and leads her back up the aisle. It is then that Martel comes back with a bucket, threatening to throw whatever is in it at Michaels. He then pours it on Sherri, having her come to at the top of the aisleway. She then charges past the curtain.
We then hear about the upcoming WWF World Tag Team Championship match, as promoted by Vince McMahon.
Backstage, we hear Sean Mooney talking to the Nasty Boys with Jimmy ‘The Mouth of the South’ Hart’s face. Both are laughing hysterically at the expense of what was likely Sensational Sherri, with water being poured on her.
We then hear why they don’t get a title shot despite being the number one contenders. Jimmy Hart said they’ll get a title shot, but he looks concerned.

WWF Tag Team Championship
The Beverly Brothers with The Genius vs. The Natural Disasters
With Bo and Blake Beverly waiting in the ring, The Genius recites a poem. We then hear a roar from the crowd as a rumbling ushers the WWF Tag Team Champions, Earthquake and Typhoon, to the ring.
As soon as the bell rings, the challengers attack the champions from behind. That attack is short-lived. Typhoon splashes a prone Blake as Earthquake holds him.
Typhoon and Blake are in the ring. Typhoon then attempts a leg drop but to no avail. Blake then attempts a bodyslam, only for Typhoon to land on top of Blake.
With Typhoon holding Blake, Bo then grabs Typhoon’s leg, leading to Earthquake mistakingly splashing his partner in the corner.
Bo then continues working over Typhoon and makes a tag to Blake. Blake attempts another pinfall attempt but again to no avail.
We then get Bo tagged in, and he works over the beaten Typhoon, choking him by pressing his throat against the middle rope.
Bo begins throwing punches at Typhoon, who is on his knees. We then get him backed into his corner, with Blake choking Typhoon while the referee is distracted.
Another tag is made, leading Blake to come back into the ring. He then hits a diving headbutt off the ropes and then attempts a pinfall attempt, but only for a count of two.
Typhoon then tries to tag in Earthquake, but the referee doesn’t see it, which backs him into his own corner. Bo continues to work over the throat of Typhoon by forcing him to have a hard time breathing.
The Beverlys continue to whip Typhoon into the turnbuckle, back first, but that leads to Typhoon lunging and clotheslining both Brothers.
Then, with Typhoon attempting to slam one of them, the referee is distracted, leading to Bo dropkicking Blake’s back, forcing Typhoon to fall back and face an attempted pinfall.
Just as it appeared as though Typhoon was about to make the tag, Earthquake jumps down off the apron as The Genius attempts to distract him.
But inside the ring, Blake hits Typhoon with the metal scroll from behind. When he attempts to pin him, Earthquake comes back in the ring and drops an elbow on him, breaking up the pinfall attempt.
Both Typhoon and Blake are laid out in the ring. Both men then begin to stir, Bo is tagged in, and Earthquake is finally tagged in. Earthquake then hits a hip toss on Bo followed by a belly-to-belly suplex.
Earthquake then proceeds to hit shoulder tackles on Bo. With Blake tossed out of the ring, Earthquake hits a splash, then a powerslam, followed by tremors, and then the Earthquake splash. A pinfall and the win follow this.
Winners: AND STILL WWF Tag Team Champions, The Natural Disasters.
After the match, we then see how the match result came about. Vince McMahon then throws it back to Mean Gene Okerlund backstage speaking to The Bushwhackers.
Butch and Luke share their enthusiasm for Summerslam and also express their wonder about whose corner Mr. Perfect will be in.
Okerlund shares that Butch has been invited to dinner at Buckingham Palace, and that Luke also has a dentist attempting to sell him a London “bridge”. Both Bushwhackers continue to share about an array of rumours.
Lord Alfred Hayes is now at the door of The Ultimate Warrior and speaks softly and tries to sneak into the room, only for a hand to slam the door shut.
Hayes seems shocked that it happened! He then adds that it doesn’t matter that Mr. Perfect is in the room, but that it’s certainly an act of rudeness. Hayes throws it back to the ring.

Repo Man vs Crush
Repo Man is already in the ring and awaits Crush, who makes his way to the ring. Fans are showing their enthusiasm for Crush, who is billed from Kona, Hawaii.
As soon as Crush comes into the ring, Repo Man attacks him from behind. But Crush turns around and begins gorilla-pressing Repo up and down, tossing him to the mat.
This forces Repo to go to the floor. Crush follows him and hits Repo with a clothesline. Both men then make their way into the ring. Crush continues to work over Repo Man.
Repo attempts a cross-body, but to no avail, as Crush hoists him up and carries him to the corner turnbuckle. He then proceeds to punch and kick the prone Repo Man on the top turnbuckle.
Repo Man then comes down off the turnbuckle and comes off the ropes, to which Crush catches him and hits a side backbreaker… one-handed!
Crush then gets caught with an eye gauge at the hands of Repo Man. Repo then hits a belly-to-back suplex. But that doesn’t stop Crush, who makes his way back up and then hits a backbreaker on Repo Man.
He then climbs to the top rope and attempts to drop a knee on Crush but misses. Repo continues to try and work on Crush and catches him with his head down.
Crush then presses Repo up and out of the ring. Repo then climbs the top turnbuckle and powerslams him and then applies a vice crush, squeezing the head of Repo Man, leading to the referee ringing the bell.
Winner: Crush
After the match, we hear an ad for ICO PRO by Vince McMahon, who throws it to Mean Gene Okerlund backstage.
Okerlund shares how they are moments away from the main event and also finding out whose corner Mr. Perfect will be in. Okerlund shared the controversy leading into this match.
We then see Ric Flair and Mr. Perfect call Macho Man the Macho Chicken, who attacks Flair, but Perfect tries to beat him down.
This leads to the Ultimate Warrior coming down to help out the Macho Man.
The following week, we see Ric Flair confront the Ultimate Warrior and tell him the Macho Man was trying to cut a deal with Mr. Perfect to have him back him up. Macho Man is then interrupted during his interview by Mr. Perfect, who reveals he will be in someone’s corner at SummerSlam.
We then see a tag team match between the Macho Man and the Ultimate Warrior, with both men trading tags with a lot of tension. Savage has his back turned and is shoved off the apron.
Then, with the Ultimate Warrior distracted, the Macho Man is hit with a megaphone from behind by the Nasty Boys during their tag team match, as the Warrior gets his hands on Jimmy Hart, Ric Flair and Mr. Perfect attack the Warrior from behind.
The Nasty Boys are working over the Macho Man, and Flair and Perfect are beating on the Ultimate Warrior. This all took place during their Prime Time Wrestling tag team match.
Flair and Perfect then leave the ringside area, but the Ultimate Warrior is in pursuit of Flair and Perfect behind the backstage area.
We then hear Gene Okerlund share that each man is totally convinced that the other will have Mr. Perfect in their corner.
We then see Vince McMahon and Bobby Heenan discussing the upcoming championship match at ringside. McMahon continues to ask Heenan who it was that ‘sold out’. It is now up to The Fink to announce the combatants.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship
The Ultimate Warrior vs. ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage (c)
The Warrior makes his way to the ring first. Fans are cheering for the Warrior, who is adorned in his full-length jacket with a world championship drawn on it, along with the Union Jack.
Out next to the ring is the champion, the Macho Man Randy Savage. McMahon and Heenan discuss not seeing Mr. Perfect. Savage and the Warrior go face-to-face and then shake hands in the center of the ring.
But it is done so with some jockying for position. Both men toss aside their entrance attire and prepare to face one another. Fans in attendance cheer for both men as they then lock up.
Savage releases the hold after having the Warrior pressed up against the rope. Savage hits the Warrior and then follows up with a clothesline.
He then attempts a double axe handle, but the Ultimate Warrior catches him and hits Savage to the midsection. The Warrior then hoists him up and hits a reverse atomic drop on Savage.
Warrior then follows up with a series of shoulder tackles. He then attempts an elbow drop but misses. This was exactly what the Macho Man needed. Savage now regains the advantage.
He eventually gets Warrior into a sleeper hold, but Warrior breaks free. The Warrior then attempts a pinfall attempt but only for a count of two. Then the Warrior hits a series of right hands on Savage.
Warrior then hits another clothesline and a pinfall attempt, but only for a count of two. Savage then regains an advantage by pulling the Warrior into the turnbuckle, followed by a clothesline over the top rope to the floor.
Savage then jumps over the top rope and goes in for a cover on the Warrior, but only gets a count of two. He then goes up and hits a double axe handle this time on the Ultimate Warrior.
But the Warrior shakes it off. The Macho Man then goes and hits a second one on the Ultimate Warrior and follows up with a pinfall attempt.
Then climbs the top rope and attempts a third one, but is caught in midair by the Ultimate Warrior. Warrior then carries Savage around with one hand and hits a backbreaker.
He goes for a pinfall attempt but again only for a count of two. Warrior then drives Savage headfirst into the turnbuckle and continues the onslaught.
Savage is then whipped into the opposing turnbuckle and then caught in a bear hug by the Ultimate Warrior. The Warrior then picks up the Macho Man and hits a side slam on Savage.
He tries another pinfall attempt, but Savage kicks out. Savage then tries a small package on the Warrior, but the Warrior kicks out at a count of two.
Warrior slowly follows the Macho Man, then whips him into the ropes, but the Macho Man hits a neckbreaker on the Ultimate Warrior. He tries a pinfall attempt but again only for a count of two.
Savage hits his patented running and draping the throat of the Warrior over the top rope like a slingshot. Savage tried a suplex, but he couldn’t get the Warrior up. Both men are weakened and battered.
Warrior continues to work over the lower back of the Macho Man. He then wrenches a front face lock. He then hits a suplex on the Macho Man. Warrior tries another pinfall attempt but again only gets a count of two.
Savage is then resting across the ropes, to which the Warrior charges and the Macho Man moves. Warrior misses and falls over the tope rope to the floor.
This causes the Macho Man to climb to the top rope and hit a double axe handle to the Warrior from behind. But Savage breaks the count and goes back after the Warrior on the floor.
Savage then breaks the count and once again goes outside after the Ultimate Warrior on the floor. Savage continues to beat down on the Warrior on the floor. He brings the Warrior back into the ring and goes for a cover. But he only gets a count of two.
This leads to Mr. Perfect and the Nature Boy Ric Flair to come down to the ring. Back in the ring, the Ultimate Warrior hits a back body drop on the Macho Man and tries to go for the pinfall attempt.
Warrior then slams Savage. Warrior then attempts a splash, but the Macho Man gets his knees up at the time. Savage attempts a pinfall attempt, but the Warrior kicks out.
Both men are knocked down. Flair and Perfect look on. The Warrior goes for a pinfall attempt, but Savage kicks out. Savage then attempts a pinfall attempt, and Warrior kicks out.
Savage then hit the ropes, and as the referee was distracted, Mr. Perfect grabbed his leg. This leads McMahon to say that proves the Ultimate Warrior sold out to Mr. Perfect.
Savage turns around while sitting down and looks at Mr. Perfect. Savage’s attention is focused on Mr. Perfect. The Ultimate Warrior then decks Savage once he turns around.
The Ultimate Warrior then hoists up the Macho Man and drops him to the mat. Warrior then whips the Macho Man, but he ends up taking out the referee.
The Warrior then slams the Macho Man and begins to climb the rope and hits a double axe handle of his own. But as he goes for a pin, the referee is still trying to come to.
But once the referee does make the cover, the Macho Man does kick out. The Warrior is then busy arguing with the referee.
When the Macho Man comes charging at the Ultimate Warrior, he hits a knee that knocks the referee out of the ring. Savage then hits a piledriver on the Ultimate Warrior.
Savage then sees the referee is down and goes to try and help him up. While this is happening, Mr. Perfect goes in the ring trying to get the Ultimate Warrior to come to.
Warrior is then still trying to gather his bearings when Mr. Perfect holds the Warrior from behind while Ric Flair brings out brass knuckles and decks him, knocking him down.
Back in the ring, the referee gets woken up, and Savage then slams the fallen Warrior. Savage then climbs the top rope and hits an elbow drop. The referee goes for the pinfall, but the Warrior kicks out at two.
Flair and Perfect are talking, but Warrior is stirring, trying to make his way back up. Savage continues to punch the Warrior from behind, and he continues to make his comeback.
The Ultimate Warrior hits a series of clotheslines, then a shoulder block. The Ultimate Warrior is standing in the middle of the ring signalling for a press slam. He then hits a press slam on the Macho Man.
As the Warrior runs across one side of the ring, Mr. Perfect tries to trip him up, and the referee is distracted by that. However, when he hits the opposite side, Ric Flair hits him in the back with a chair.
This completely wipes the Warrior out. Savage didn’t see what happened, just that Warrior was on the mat. The referee is making his ten count as the Warrior lies face down in the ring.
Savage then lays the Warrior in the ring but notices both Ric Flair and Mr. Perfect at ringside. He then goes to the referee and tries to kick Mr. Perfect.
Now the referee is distracted by Mr. Perfect. When the Macho Man decides he won’t drop an elbow on the Ultimate Warrior, but rather Ric Flair as he leaps from the top rope to hit a double axe handle on the Nature Boy, Flair avoids it and hits Savage in the knee with a chair.
Savage is then clutching his left knee. The official then makes the count with the Warrior out inside the ring and Savage crawling to make his way inside the ring. The referee makes the ten count, counting the champion out.
Winner: via countout, The Ultimate Warrior
As soon as the bell rings, both Ric Flair and Mr. Perfect go after Randy Savage’s knee. Perfect hits a knee breaker and Flair follows up with a figure four.
Back inside the ring, the Ultimate Warrior is slowly coming to as Perfect continues to beat on the Macho Man. Warrior is slowly making his way around the ring and eventually pulls the chair away from Ric Flair and chases them both up the aisleway.
The Ultimate Warrior then beats on his chest and makes his way back to the ring as the Macho Man is back in the ring trying to recover from the attack from Mr. Perfect and the Nature Boy Ric Flair.
Warrior looks at the fallen Macho Man Randy Savage. The Ultimate Warrior then climbs out of the ring and grabs the WWF World Championship.
He comes back in the ring and then looks at it again and picks up the Macho Man as he tries to help him up and gives him the title.
The Warriors’ music hits as both challenger and champion are celebrated by those in attendance. They then make their way back up the aisleway together.
Mean Gene Okerlund then speaks with Mr. Perfect and the Nature Boy Ric Flair. Perfect says that the deal was between him and Flair.
Flair says it should have been him going after the title, not the Warrior. Ric Flair says that Savage had better be aware that this title is coming back to the Nature Boy.

Kamala with Dr. Harvey Wippleman and Kim Chee vs. The Undertaker and Paul Bearer
Howard Finkle then passes on the microphone to Harvey Wippleman, who introduces Kamala, who then comes to the ring.
We then hear the famous gong of the Undertaker, who comes down to the ring in a hearse. Once in the ring, The Undertaker removes his jacket and hat.
Kamala then tries to sneak up on The Undertaker, but he’s caught and choked in the corner. The Undertaker is then whipped into the corner, but reverses it. Taker then climbs the rope and walks it and hits Kamala across his upper back.
He then follows up with knife edge chops on Kamala. The Undertaker is then distracted and pulled off the top rope.
We then see The Undertaker clotheslined over the top rope and lands on his feet. He is then caught by Kamala, who follows him outside.
The Undertaker is then rolled into the ring, and Kamala pursues him. But The Undertaker then hits a chokeslam on Kamala.
He then follows up with a lunging lariat on Kamala off the ropes. The Undertaker then picks him up, but Kim Chee comes into the ring and punches The Undertaker in the midsection, prompting the referee to call for the bell.
Winner: via disqualification, The Undertaker.
After the bell, the Undertaker then begins to stalk Kim Chee. He grabs him by the throat and then gets tossed to the floor.
Kamala then continues to splash the Undertaker in the corner and then gets slammed. Kamala then hits a splash. He then climbs to the second rope and hits a splash.
Kamala then climbs a third time and then attempts and hits a third splash. The Undertaker is lying down, but he sits up as if nothing had happened.
The Undertaker then begins to pursue Kamala back up the aisleway as Paul Bearer leads him. Both Harvey Wippleman and Kim Chee scurry to the backstage area with Kamala.
Sean Mooney is then backstage with the British Bulldog, asking him about the family pressures surrounding his upcoming WWF Intercontinental Championship match against Bret Hart.
The British Bulldog says that when that match happens, it’s as though he doesn’t know Bret and that he didn’t meet Bret.
He hopes that after the match, the family reunites. He then addresses a crowd of nearly 80,000 people in his home city of London.
Bret Hart is then speaking with Mean Gene Okerlund. Hart says that he works well under pressure. He says that The British Bulldog’s claim never to have known him, when he stands in the ring, is that he wouldn’t be where he is in the WWF if not for him.
Hart says the Bulldog wanted the big fight, and now he’s got it. Bret said that Bulldog’s dream will become a nightmare.
There is then a performance by a group of bagpipe players in front of the crowd at Wembley Stadium. As a special surprise, ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper was coming out to perform with the Highlanders on stage. Fans applaud the group’s performance.
We then see Sean Mooney in the crowd with Diana Hart discussing the upcoming struggle within the family. She shares how both are fiercely competitive and that she may be an obstacle in their path.
Diana then shares that she isn’t concerned with who wins and that the bond within her family is more important. We then hear Howard Finkel announce that the upcoming WWF Intercontinental Championship match is next.

WWF Intercontinental Championship
The British Bulldog vs. Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart (c)
First out to the ring, led by World Champion boxer Lennox Lewis waving the Union Jack, was The British Bulldog. The Bulldog acknowledges the adulation of those in attendance as he makes his way to the ring.
Once in the ring, we hear the popular guitar riff that signals the arrival of the Intercontinental Champion, Bret ‘Hit Man’ Hart, who then makes his way to the ring.
We then see Diana Hart Smith at ringside applauding both competitors. Hart kisses the title and then hands it to the referee.
He then goes to the arena floor and hands off his glasses to one fan at ringside. Once back in the ring, Hart and The Bulldog stare each other down, then shove one another.
They circle one another, then lock up and push each other off. Bulldog then hits a shoulder tackle that knocks Hart down, and he then falls outside the ring to the floor.
Hart then gets back into the ring, and he and Bulldog lock up again. Bulldog puts him in a head scissors, but Bret gets out of it again and then does it again.
We then get a pair of pinning attempts by Hart and the Bulldog kicked out of both. Hart has a side headlock and wears down the Bulldog, who reverses it into a hammerlock.
Bret then hits an elbow to the face of the Bulldog and then has an armbar himself on the Bulldog. The Bulldog then reverses the move, locking in an armbar of his own.
Bret and the Bulldog are on their feet. The Bulldog then whips the Hit Man into the corner turnbuckle. The Bulldog then wrenches the arm of the Hit Man.
Hart then gets back to his feet but gets caught in a crucifix pin by the Bulldog. The Bulldog then locks in another armbar.
But as the Hit Man attempts a slam, the Bulldog holds onto the armbar, causing him to drop to the mat. Hart then whips the Bulldog into the ropes and hits a knee into the midsection of the Bulldog.
Hart follows up with a leg drop on the Bulldog. Hart then locks in a rear chinlock. The Bulldog attempts to fight it off but to no avail.
The Hit Man then drops an elbow on the Bulldog, regaining control. Hart then picks up The Bulldog and nearly gets caught in another crucifix pin but then drops down on the Bulldog.
Hart locks in a rear chinlock once again. Hart takes down the Bulldog with a shoulder tackle but ends up getting caught with a monkey flip by the Bulldog. The British Bulldog regains control momentarily.
Hart then hits a Bulldog on the Bulldog. Bret then climbs to the top rope, but the Bulldog tosses Bret off. He attempts a diving headbutt on Hart, but Bret moves. Bret regains control, working over the Bulldog.
The Bulldog tried to toss Bret into the ropes, but Bret moved, and the Bulldog ended up on the floor. The Bulldog then gets caught with a plancha to the floor by the Hit Man.
Bret then drives the Bulldog back first into the ring post. The Bulldog is then tossed back into the ring. He is then whipped hard into the corner turnbuckle.
Bret then hits a headbutt and a russian legsweep on the Bulldog. He attempts a pin but only gets a two count. Bret then hits a series of forearms, then a right hand, and a dropkick. Bret hits a back bodydrop on the Bulldog.
The Hit Man then follows up with another rear chinlock. Both men are on their feet, but that’s until Bret hits a suplex on the Bulldog.
Bret once again locks in a rear chinlock. Hart then takes a headbutt, but the Bulldog attempts a pin by tying up Bret’s arms.
But Bret then hits a side backbreaker followed by an elbow. Hart throws hard right hands to the back of the Bulldog’s head. Fans in attendance are booing the Hit Man.
He then throws a pair of right hands and then locks in another rear chinlock. Both men are on their feet. But Hart locks in a sleeper hold on the Bulldog that brings him to his knees.
But the Bulldog gets to the ropes. Hart then throws a couple of boots to the Bulldog and then locks in another sleeper. This brings the Bulldog down, but he looks as though he is fading while the referee checks.
But the Bulldog doesn’t drop his arm a third time and drives Hart back into the turnbuckle. But Hart doesn’t give up and does it again, only to be driven into the turnbuckle once more.
But Hart and Bulldog throw fists at one another. This leads to a gorilla press, and the Hit Man is then dropped over the top rope. The Bulldog then hits a clothesline on the Bulldog and goes for a pin.
But he only gets a count of two. The Bulldog then hits another gorilla press and attempts a pin. But we only get a count of two. The Bulldog then hits his stalling vertical suplex on the Hit Man.
He once again goes for a pin but only gets a count of two. Hart is then whipped chest first into the turnbuckle. He then signals to go for his patented powerslam.
He then picks up the Hit Man over his shoulder and hits the power slam. But the Hit Man kicks out at the count of two! The Bulldog pushes a prone Bret Hart, who easily fell through the ropes.
We then get a belly-to-back German bridging suplex by Bret on the Bulldog into a pin, but only gets a count of two. The Hit Man is placed on the top turnbuckle, to which the British Bulldog hits a superplex.
He once again goes for a pinning attempt and again gets a count of two. Then, The Bulldog whips Bret to the ropes, and both knock each other down with a double clothesline.
While on their back, Bret locks in the Sharpshooter on the Bulldog and then sits up with it locked in. The Bulldog eventually reaches the ropes, breaking the hold.
We then see the Bulldog whip Bret into the ropes. Bret then goes over him with an attempted sunset flip, but Bulldog drops down and covers him for a count of 1…2…3.
Winner: AND NEW WWF Intercontinental champion, The British Bulldog.
The crowd in attendance erupted with the win at the hands of the British Bulldog. Referee Joey Marella hands the Bulldog the title. He stood in the ring while Bret Hart sat in the ring looking dejected at what just took place.
The Bulldog walks over to Bret and offers his hand as Bret gets up on his own, seemingly unwilling to shake his hand, as the crowd in attendance boos Hart each time he attempts to leave the ring.
Hart eventually gives in and comes in, hugs the British Bulldog, and they embrace. Diana Hart Smith, the British Bulldog’s wife and Bret Hart’s sister, comes into the ring and celebrates with the two men as well.
