It is always with a heavy heart when you have to report on less than exciting forms of news. Having spent a lot of time following and writing about the exciting world of Australian professional wrestling now. Unfortunately, the excitement is on pause. Multiple Australian wrestling promotions have had to make the decision to cancel upcoming events. This is as the world unites in the battle with COVID-19.  Riot City Wrestling in Adelaide has canceled their Power Trip show which was set to take place on March 17th, 2020.  A statement from the companies website regarding the cancellation was posted.

Melbourne City Wrestling has canceled its Fallout event for this coming weekend.

In addition to that, the promotion has also made the decision to cancel their April 18th show as well.  In the tweet sent out by the promotion, they stated that they will also postpone their May 16th event and at this time they are looking forward to returning to action on June 13th with their Ballroom Brawl event.  The company also said in their tweet that an announcement regarding Wrestle Rock would be coming shortly and to expect it to be obvious.

PWA Black Label had to cancel their live event coming up.

However, the promotion still wants to give back to the fans by providing a show on their streaming service. PWA Black Label will be presenting Don’t Call It A Cancel. It will be an empty arena show.  The company is not putting together any sort of traditional card for the show. They have reached out to fans to give them ideas of what they would like to see.  PWA Black Label is giving fans the opportunity to suggest matches and get interactive with the company.  If you are looking to get your fill of wrestling entertainment during this very uncertain times then March 20th might be the perfect time to tune in to PWA Black Label presents Don’t Call It A Cancel.

It is a very difficult time for the entire world at the moment. We as people more than ever need to show unity and care for one another as we fight to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.  It is very unfortunate that the Australian wrestling promotions and companies all over the world are not only having to cancel upcoming events. However, they also are not getting the opportunity to soak in the excitement of a live crowd. To all of the promotions, performers, and anyone who works within these companies who are having their way of life affected drastically at the moment our thoughts and love go out to you and your families.

With that said our thoughts and love go out to every single human out in the world, we hope that you all stay safe and that we will soon find the light at the end of this dark tunnel.
