On Wednesday, August 4th, the world lost one of not only wrestling’s greatest tag team wrestlers but one of wrestling’s best people. Fans are remembering ‘Beautiful’ Bobby Eaton all around the world. ‘Beautiful’ Bobby Eaton was found dead Wednesday by his daughter Taryn in his home in Alabama. The 80’s & 90’s tag team specialist was long remembered for his time in such teams as The Midnight Express, Blue Bloods, and factions such as the Dangerous Alliance. However, Eaton’s contribution to wrestling far exceeds what he did in the ring. It also includes; the impression he made on those outside of it.

Whether it was a tag team or singles match, Eaton was long known for what he did in the ring. However, his mentoring to talent outside the ring as well. Bobby Eaton did as much for himself as he did for his opposition as he did for himself.

Bobby Eaton was as reliable a worker as anyone of his generation. As part of the Midnight Express with “Loverboy” Dennis Condrey in Mid-South and World Class Championship Wrestling and later ‘Sweet’ Stan Lane in the NWA under the management of James (Jim) E. Cornette. He was considered arguably one of wrestling’s greatest tag team wrestlers ever. Their feuds with the Rock n’ Roll Express & the Original Midnight Express are long are what he is remembered for.

While Bobby Eaton’s success as a tag team wrestler has long been acknowledged, he also found success as a singles competitor capturing the WCW Television Championship.

A GoFundMe Page has been created to aid the family with the funeral costs. If readers would like to help the family they can do so by submitting their donations here.

As a wrestling enthusiast for over 30 years, my fondness for professional wrestling explores the irrational in a rational way. I will explore the details inside and outside the ring and hopefully have a laugh with you in the process. I've had the fortune to interview wrestlers from Lucha Underground, TNA, Ring of Honor, GFW, and former WWE talent as well. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @TheMarcMadison
