As reported by PWInsider.com and Mike Johnson, WWE NXT lead commentator Mauro Ranallo will remain the in that position for the foreseeable future. He recently came to turns on a new contract but as mentioned the deal was struck a little more than a month back. Terms of the deal were not released but it does appear to continue to follow suit with what the company has already had in place for him. Ranallo has been with the WWE initially as the lead voice of the Smackdown Live program and now with WWE NXT. Ranallo has been in the position of lead announcer since 2017. He is accompanied at the commentating position by Nigel McGuiness and Percy Watson.
The terms of the deal were not revealed but it will allow him to continue to work in other non-WWE related broadcasting events that are tied to combat sports. Ranallo can be heard not only on WWE NXT television but Showtime Boxing and Bellator MMA. On top of Ranallo’s tremendous work outside NXT, and combat sports he has long been an advocate for Mental Health often speaking of its challenges while remaining as a positive voice for others in the process. Ranallo could be seen and heard every week on the WWE Network and their NXT broadcast every Wednesday evening at 8 pm eastern.
Madison’s Mindset: This deal couldn’t have happened to a better commentator and a better person. Ranallo brings to commentating a sense a refreshing sense of enthusiasm and passion that isn’t heard nearly as much with some wrestling/sports entertainment commentators. In having Mauro Ranallo, maintain the lead commentator position fans are assured that they will continue to be surrounded with the best possible person in that position in the WWE and their NXT in the foreseeable future. Often times, Ranallo’s enthusiasm behind the microphone has been captured by fans in attendance.
