Sunday night saw the most historic IMPACT PPV since the company debuted 19 years ago. At Rebellion, three championships changed hands, one of which has now left the company. AEW World Champion Kenny Omega defeated Rich Swann for the IMPACT World Championship, leaving IMPACT wrestling without a top dog. Along with FinJuice touring Japan with the IMPACT Tag Team Championships, things look dire on the home front. But as they say, it’s always darkest before the dawn. Here’s what we can expect tonight during this ‘Rebuilding Phase’ for IMPACT Wrestling as we Brace for IMPACT for 4/29/21.

W. Morrissey Debuts
On Sunday night, we learned that medical staff could not clear Eric Young to compete alongside Violent By Design. That night, Violent By Design announced a surprise substitute for the injured Eric Young. Out came W. Morrissey, the former Big Cass, helping Violent By Design to victory over Edwards, Mack, Sabin & Storm. Thursday night, W. Morrissey makes his TV Debut for IMPACT Wrestling.
But who will Morrissey face in his first singles match for the company? Strong contenders for that dubious honor include Sam Beale, Suicide, and Daivari. But the more interesting question is, will Eric Young try to recruit another disciple of violence? At Rebellion, commentators referred to Morrissey as a hired gun; however, that doesn’t prevent him from becoming a full-time member.
Taylor Wilde vs Kimber Lee (w/Susan & Deonna Purrazzo)
On the April 8th episode of IMPACT Wrestling, we saw a vignette promoting the return of Taylor Wilde. The former Knockouts Champion and Knockouts Tag Team Champion will step back into an IMPACT Wrestling ring after a decade of retirement. In her return match, she’ll be tangling with Kimber Lee, a protege of reigning Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo. Kimber Lee has fellow protege Susan in her corner along with Deonna Purrazzo.
Normally, I’d speculate about a post-match beatdown, but I don’t think this is wise for The Virtuosa. Taylor Wilde has some significant experience dealing with knockout cliques, defeating The Beautiful People several times in her day. Plus, a win over Kimber Lee might be the starting point of a push towards Deonna Purrazzo’s Knockouts Championship. See Taylor Wilde return to IMPACT Wrestling Thursday night on AXS.

Ace Austin (w/Madman Fulton) vs. Josh Alexander (c) – X-Division Championship
Sunday night was a big night for Josh Alexander, who toppled Ace Austin to become X-Division Champion. What Alexander couldn’t have expected from that night was that Rich Swann would lose the IMPACT World Championship. Josh Alexander is now the only man in IMPACT Wrestling who holds a title, and that paints a gigantic target on his back. Challengers will have to form a line for the time being, however, as Ace Austin has invoked his rematch clause.
On Thursday night, Josh Alexander will face Ace Austin in singles competition for the X-Division Championship. As usual, Austin will be bringing Madman Fulton to ringside. Will Fulton make his presence felt in this match, or is the possibility of becoming de facto top champion in IMPACT Wrestling too much for Austin to risk? Find out on Thursday night’s IMPACT Wrestling!

Kenny Omega’s In-Ring Celebration
On Sunday night, Kenny Omega made history by becoming the first person to capture both the AEW and IMPACT World Championships. On Thursday night, Kenny Omega stops in at IMPACT Wrestling for what might more accurately be called a coronation ceremony. Expect Kenny to gloat about his historic victory but also to expand upon his plans now that he has the IMPACT World Championship. Will he take the title back with him to AEW? Will he stay in IMPACT for a while with his friends, The Good Brothers? Which top title might he set his sights on next? And who might try to rain on his parade? Find out during Kenny Omega’s IMPACT World Championship Victory Celebration this Thursday night on IMPACT Wrestling.
What Else To Expect
- Words from the new Knockouts Tag Team Champions, Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering
- DECAY taunt The Good Brothers for losing to FinJuice twice
- Moose confronts Rich Swann about losing the IMPACT World Championship
