Last Saturday night, IMPACT Wrestling held their Hard to Kill pay-per-view. At the event, we saw the crowning of the inaugural Knockouts Tag Team Champions and the debut of Matt Cardona. We also saw a historic main event, wherein Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers defeated Rich Swann, Chris Sabin, and Moose in 6-Man Tag Team action. Now that the dust has settled, we can start to see how this will affect the landscape of IMPACT Wrestling. Find out what’s in store for the future on an all-new IMPACT Wrestling tonight at 8 on AXS. This is Brace for IMPACT for 1/19/21.

Eric Young vs Rhino
On Saturday night, Eric Young and Violent By Design (Deaner & Joe Doering) faced Rhino, Cousin Jake, and Tommy Dreamer in an old school rules match. Tommy Dreamer issued the challenge on January 12th. On Saturday night, Dreamer, Rhino, and Cousin Jake felt the wrath of Violent By Design when they went to war with no count-outs or DQs. The war is far from over, at least while Eric Young can enforce his will on the IMPACT Wrestling roster. This week, ‘The World Class Maniac’ Eric Young will face “The Man-Beast” Rhino in singles action. However, Young has neither Deaner nor Doering in his corner. Will Rhino get a measure of revenge against Young tonight? Or is Eric Young leading Rhino into a trap?

Kimber Lee & Susan (w/Deonna Purrazzo) vs Jordynne Grace & Jazz
On the December 1st episode of IMPACT Wrestling, Father James Mitchell captured The Undead Bride, Su Yung. For weeks, The Sinister Minister mused about what he would do when he got his hands on Su Yung. We finally found out on January 12th, when Su Yung’s 3rd alter ego emerged. Appearing in a pants suit, the debuting Susan assisted Kimber Lee in her match against Taya Valkyrie. We still don’t know much about Susan, but this week she teams with Kimber Lee to take on the team of Jordynne Grace & Jazz. Fresh out of the Knockouts Tag Team Tournament, Grace & Jazz are interested in capturing the championships. But they’ll need to climb the ladder first, and that starts with a win over Lee & Susan on Tuesday’s IMPACT Wrestling.

What Else To Expect
New Knockouts Tag Team Champions Speak
Last Saturday night, we saw the crowning of the inaugural Knockouts Tag Team Champions. It was a long and winding road, but it shaped the landscape of the Knockouts division to come. We saw Tenille Dashwood, Taya Valkyrie, Rosemary, Jordynne Grace, Deonna Purrazzo, and Jazz eliminated. And in the end, it came down to Tasha Steelz & Kiera Hogan vs Havok & Neveah. Poetically, they’re the same two teams who jumpstarted the Knockouts Tag Team scene over the summer. At Hard To Kill Fire ‘N’ Flava used their speed and striking talent to overcome their stronger opponents, capturing the vacant Knockouts Tag Team Championships. On Tuesday night Tasha Steelz and Kiera Hogan will speak about their match at Hard To Kill and their future as Knockouts Tag Team Champions.
Matt Cardona In Action
At Hard To Kill, Super X Cup winner Ace Austin demanded a spot in the X-Division Championship triple threat match later on. IMPACT Wrestling executive Scott D’Amore agreed that Austin deserved a championship match, but that boat had sailed. Instead, D’Amore offered Ace Austin a match against a mystery opponent. Austin accepted the match and discovered his mystery opponent was the debuting Matt Cardona! “Alwayz Ready” Matt Cardona started a promising match with Ace Austin before Madman Fulton got involved, forcing a disqualification. On Tuesday night, Matt Cardona aims to impress in his 2nd match within an IMPACT Wrestling. The question is, will Austin and Fulton get involved a second time?
Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers
When Kenny Omega first appeared on IMPACT Wrestling, he spoke about his former hobby of collecting comic books. He said that no matter how big his collection got, he could never afford the very rare comics. Now he’s grown up and he’s got a new hobby. These days, Kenny Omega collects championship belts. At Hard To Kill, AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and IMPACT Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers faced IMPACT World Champion Rich Swann, Chris Sabin, and Moose. While Swann, Sabin, and Moose put in a valiant effort defending IMPACT Wrestling’s honor, Kenny Omega did pin Rich Swann. In pro wrestling, there’s a saying: “To be the man, you gotta beat the man”. In pinning Rich Swann, Kenny Omega earned the right to challenge for the IMPACT World Championship. Will The Best Bout Machine challenge for the IMPACT World Championship on Tuesday night? Or will he wait for a more opportune moment?
