Yesterday, Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) announced that it is bringing back the Acid Cup. A tournament dedicated to the late Trent Acid. Acid was a veteran of the independent scene for a number of years. His memory is commemorated with GCW’s debut on Independent Wrestling TV. With GCW announcing this two night tournament, it begins tonight and concludes tomorrow. Details as to the participants in the tournament will also begin today. PROGRESS tweeted out a statement earlier on Wednesday regarding supporting one another and future events. With the state of professional wrestling disappointed with the series of canceled events due to COVID-19, something positive has occurred. Independent Wrestling TV has announced that Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) will live stream as many as twenty events in 2020. The streaming service made the following announcement. In a career that spanned over fourteen years, Kirby stepped into the ring with some of the very best. Upon his announcement the outpouring of respect shown towards him was amazing. The Center for Disease and Control Prevention (CDC) recommends the cancellation or postponement of events of more than 50 people. With earlier reports circulating that events of more than 250 people be canceled, the belief was smaller promotions to hold events. However, AAW Pro announced yesterday that their upcoming event EPIC has been postponed. The same could be said about Limitless Wrestling’s whose upcoming Cause for Alarm has been canceled. Of course, these cancellations all lead to what is the single biggest wrestling event of the year in WrestleMania and its future. In a press release issued yesterday by MLW, the promotion stated that it would temporarily suspend promoting any upcoming live events for a minimum of 45 days.
