Cinderella Summer In Tokyo Crowns New Champions | #AndNEW

On Sunday, July 26th, Stardom crowned new champions at their Cinderella Summer in Tokyo show. Two titles changed hands as the High Speed, Goddesses of Stardom, and Wonder of Stardom belts found new homes. One of which was a familiar home. After Bea Priestly and Jamie Hayter had to vacate their Goddess of Stardom tag team championships, since they weren’t able to defend the titles do to the pandemic, new champions were crowned.

With the High-Speed title on the line, a triple threat match took place between a new champion was crowned. AZM defeated Starlight Kid and Riho to win the High-Speed belt. Last August, Riho won the title but only defended it once. AZM had spoken about wanting to win that Championship for some time now. She captured the title after she pinned Starlight Kid. As many know, Riho hasn’t been heavily involved in Stardom to build a storyline going into this match. In the case of AZM, however, has been taking a handful of losses during this recent tour. Both Starlight Kid and AZM are rivals and equally had desires to capture the title from Riho. With Riho rarely defending the title, the win for AZM made sense.

Cinderella Summer In Tokyo Crowns New Champions

In a tag team match between Jungle Kyona and Konami vs. Utami Hayashishita and Saya Kamitani, new champions were crowned. Jungle and Konami were the former champions who dropped them to Bea and Jamie. With them being the last champions prior to Priestly and Hayter, they earned the first opportunity to reclaim the titles. Rossy booked the match and selected those two. Utami and Saya are in the Queen’s Quest faction. The duo has been teaming up together since June. After all, was said and done it was Utami and Saya that captured the Goddess of Wrestling tag team championship.

The final championship one at the recent Cinderella Summer in Tokyo event involved the Wonder of Stardom Championship. Tam Kakano faced Giulia for the championship. It was initially slated that Guilia would have faced Arisa Hoshiki for the title. However, when belt when Hoshiki won the Cinderella Tournament, but she had to retire and vacate the belt. Upon the suggestion of Konami, a small tournament took place. During the tournament  Tam defeated Natsuko, and Giulia beat Konami. Tam had been chasing the title for nearly a year. In doing so, support for her to become champion grew. This support also came from Kagetsu. As the match was reaching its closing moments, it would be Giulia who would win the contest by referee stoppage with a submission.
