On Friday, December 23rd, AEW Rampage for 12/23/22 features three matches. Of the three matches set to take place, the majority of them don’t really seem to have a purpose, sadly, based on what could have been. We have a $300 000 Three Kings Christmas Casino Trios Royale.
Feels like it could be worth so much more if it wasn’t given little to no attention. Where did it come from? Why is it here? And why the amount of $300 000 dollars? Is it because each member of a trio is valued at $100 000 dollars? While we could be here attempting to calculate the name value of the match, we’ll focus on previewing the rest of the show.

$300,000 Three Kings Christmas Casino Trios Royale
As it was shared that the match involves all trios involved in this match. Is it a battle royal where if one member is eliminated, the entire team is eliminated? Little has been shared about what to expect from this match. One could presume that the winners will win $300 000.
But will it lead to a Trios Championship opportunity? Is it an opportunity to include all these teams at once? While on-air time does provide them a place to chance to be seen to be in so briefly could do more harm than good. If any benefit will come from this match, it is a chance to see altercations between Hangman Page and Jon Moxley and Dark Order and Preston Vance and La Faccion Ingornerable.

We hear from Eddie Kingston and Ortiz
If any two men appear to be floating without a place or a role, it is Eddie Kingston and Ortiz. After they seemed to settle the score with the Jericho Appreciation Society, what is next? This appearance will hopefully shed some light on what is in store for these two. As the two are operating as a duo now, could they contend for tag team gold now?
Is that even what they want to do? Or could they very well be on their way to aligning with former friends and colleagues? What is certain is Eddie Kingston has been facing his heroes now. He needs to be given the opportunity to do more than face heroes. He needs to become a hero.

TBS Championship
Jade Cargill vs. Vertivixen
With Jade Cargill creating more enemies now by leaving a former Baddie behind. Kiera Hogan is looking to make a name for herself. So with Hogan likely looming in Cargill’s rearview, it is another current women’s champion that is looking to make a name for herself and hold two titles. The inaugural DEFY women’s champion, Vertivixen, is looking to make a splash as she faces Cargill.
Cargill best not take Player One lightly or she may confuse someone that has an affinity for video games and end up with the biggest upset in AEW’s women’s division to date.

We’ll Hear from Wardlow
After this past week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, we heard from Samoa Joe and his intentions for next week’s TNT Championship match-up against Wardlow. Joe said after he gives Wardlow all he wants that, he plans on taking from him. Now Wardlow has an opportunity to rebut what Samoa Joe has to say.
What is unfortunate is that all the steam Wardlow was granted after capturing the TNT Championship seemed to be taken away. It could have been parlayed into him moving to contend for the AEW Championship. But with fewer title defenses, the phenomenon that was Wardlow’s World took a step back. Does he recapture that buzz in defeating Samoa Joe next Wednesday?

Daddy Ass and Anthony Bowens vs. Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal
To see Daddy Ass work in a tag team match once again will be great. But will this match mean anything in a few weeks’ time? While there is no Max Castor involved in the match the question is whether this will lead to an AEW Championship opportunity or not. With that said, could a loss at the hands of Jarrett and Lethal lead to an opportunity for the two?
Although the pairing of Lethal and Jarrett makes sense, the key should be on how to elevate Satnam Singh. To make Singh a key figure in this group, there should be instances where he shows his dominance.
What To Expect:
- Discussion of match five of the best of seven between The Elite and Death Triangle
- FTR address their loss to The Gunn’s this past week.
- Jamie Hayter, Rebel, and Britt Baker address the involvement of Toni Storm and Saraya this past week.
