On Friday, January 28th, AEW presents its continued Beach Break from Cleveland, Ohio, as we preview AEW Rampage for 1/28/22. On the heels of this past week’s Beach Break event, AEW’s second Beach Break show has four matches that will vary in levels of interest and excitement. From an unlikely contender for the TBS Championship to the return of the return of a former AEW Champion to an AEW Tag Team Championship match, this week’s episode of AEW Rampage is sure to have something forever AEW fan.

The announcement of this match came this past week with no build, really. In search of Julia Hart’s record for 2022 in AEW, it wasn’t easy to find her even on the women’s portion of the roster. So for all intents and purposes, let’s presume that her record puts her in the top five, thus making her a threat of the title.

As the match initially came about, Sterling wanted Hart to sign a waiver in part due to the damage to her eye, likely waving Jade of any damage she may cause Julia during their title match. For Hart, her behavior has been somewhat erratic since she endured the mist in her eye caused by Malakai Black. Will that same behavior bode well for her during this match or likely cost her the opportunity?

Former tag team partners pit their teams against one another in a first-time-ever matchup. This match initially came about a couple of weeks back. As the Triple-A tag team champions and duo with the greatest amount of history in the industry between them, FTR walks into this match as the clear favorites to win. As Brock tries to carry on his father’s legacy, he teams with emerging Nightmare Factory member Lee Johnson.

The challenge here is regardless of as much guidance as Arn can provide the young duo in-ring experience by as savvy as a duo as FTR in the ring is a task even the best have a hard time with, let alone this young duo.

If anyone duo has been long overdue the opportunity to shine, it is Private Party. Since their arrival, the pair initially emerged in competitive matches that showcased their skillset. However, with the influx of teams and jocking of other teams on the roster to threaten for the titles, they appeared to have been told to sit back. But now is that time, and this is that match.

Fans can anticipate a match where all four men will offer an incredibly competitive matchup that showcases the talent of all involved. Kassady and Quen won’t disappoint, and this match against the reigning champions is sure to entertain. But will the current champions be up for the challenge by the members of the AHFO?

In his return to the AEW in-ring competition, the new Jon Moxley faces one half of The Acclaimed. The duo have had a history with Moxley as they have battled previously. However, at that time, it was Moxley in a very different place mentally and physically. Now, three months after his departure, Moxley has returned and looks great. The time away has changed him, likely helped him personally, and will only prove to be evident professionally.

Moxley is sure to come at this match with everything he has. First, he will come in with the intent of proving just how much he has in him and, secondly, to prove he hasn’t taken a step back for a second.

    What To Expect

    • Adam Cole to address what is next for him after his loss to Orange Cassidy
    • CM Punk to address facing MJF
    • The next threat to Britt Baker’s AEW Women’s Championship is to speak up.
