AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 07/17/24 (AEW Dynamite 250th Episode!)

It is time for the 250th episode of AEW Dynamite as we preview AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 07/17/24. It is crazy to think how much things have changed in All Elite Wrestling since the first episode in October 2019.

They are certainly going for a big night to mark the huge milestone. This week’s show will have two titles on the line: an appearance by Mariah May and a huge Champion versus Champion match.

Let us find out more about this historic night in Little Rock in the latest edition of AEW Ignite.

Mariah May Speaks

On last week’s AEW Dynamite, Mariah May won the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Final over Willow Nightingale.

The celebration with her long-time mentor, Toni Storm, was short-lived. She attacked Storm with the Owen Hart belt and with a shoe. She betrayed and blooded her “friend” just moments after winning.

This week in Little Rock, Mariah May will address her despicable actions against Toni Storm. Why did she betray the person who had befriended and supported her for nearly a year? I

t seems the lure of the AEW Women’s World Championship at AEW All In might be too much for May to ignore.

TV Time with “The Learning Tree” Chris Jericho

Last week in Calgary, Chris Jericho defeated Samoa Joe in a Street Fight. And by defeat, we mean driving a forklift through a wall and injuring Samoa Joe. The match was quickly stopped, and Samoa Joe was taken away in an ambulance.

It is time for another TV Time with “The Learning Tree”. What will Jericho have to say about his horrific actions? I am guessing he will tell us, “Hi, Guys”!

Mercedes Moné
vs. Nyla Rose
(TBS Championship)

Mercedes Moné has really been celebrating her double championships in recent weeks. She must also be feeling pretty confident as she issued an Open Challenge for the TBS Championship on this week’s AEW Dynamite. Enter Nyla Rose.

Rose is a former AEW Women’s World Champion. She certainly has been battle-tested over her many years in All Elite Wrestling. Has the cocky Moné overplayed her hand on Wednesday night?

Swerve Strickland vs. Kazuchika Okada

It is Champion versus Champion in Little Rock! AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland will face off against AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada. It is a massive match between two of the best wrestlers in the world.

Strickland has certainly made his disdain for The Elite’s actions clear in recent weeks. Will the other members of The Elite make their presence known in this huge match? It seems likely, but it would be a shame to ruin this epic encounter on AEW Dynamite.

Will Ospreay (c) vs. MJF
(AEW International Championship)

This is huge.

Arguably, the two biggest stars in All Elite Wrestling have been involved in some games of one-upmanship. They have interrupted each other’s promos and matches over the past few weeks.

It seemed like a huge match for AEW All In was brewing. But we are getting it on the 250th episode of AEW Dynamite instead.

This huge match will open the show on Wednesday night. Who will win this epic match? MJF is certainly not above cheating to defeat Ospreay and win the AEW International Championship.

Can Will Ospreay be ready for all the MJF can throw at him? If he is, this could be a match-of-the-year contender.

What To Expect:

  • Will we hear from Bryan Danielson after winning the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament last week?
  • What will Hangman Page do next after his disappointing loss?
  • Will we learn any more matches for AEW All-In?
