NJPW STRONG Synopsis for 11/26/22 – New Japan Showdown CLIMAX!

All good things must come to an end, and this week we see New Japan Showdown come to a close as we preview the NJPW STRONG Synopsis for 11/26/22. Over the past month, we have seen the crowning of new #1 Contenders to the tag team championship, the debut of Kenny King, and a dream match in Homicide vs. Tom Lawlor.

However, there’s still much action to go before the next batch of tapings. This week we’ll see the former NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champions in action, along with a special champion vs champion match for the first time ever on STRONG. Find out more in this edition of the NJPW STRONG Synopsis, your weekly breakdown of the goings on with the young lions of the LA DOJO.

This closing edition of the New Japan Showdown kicks off when the inaugural NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champions face off against the team of Jakob Austin Young and Greg Sharpe. Making their second appearance together as a tag team, J.A.Y. and Greg Sharpe are still on the hunt for their first wins in NJPW STRONG.

Last time they had their work cut out for them as they faced the powerful duo of Royce Isaacs and Jorel Nelson. This week they fare a little better as they take on Aussie Open. Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis lost their NJPW Strong Tag Team Championships at Rumble on 44th Street, and they’re itching to get back into contention.

But also, their minds are on the upcoming World Tag League in Japan and the IWGP Tag Team Championship match that comes with winning that tournament. They’ll need to keep their head in the game this Saturday night against Sharpe and Young if they want to keep that momentum going into World Tag League.

Jake Something vs. Juice Robinson

Juice Robinson’s 2022 has been a turbulent calendar year. He started the year as a mainstay in NJPW STRONG before heading back to Japan, where he defected to BULLET CLUB. The heel turn brought him the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship; however, Robinson had to vacate the belt after just 28 days due to appendicitis.

This trend continued through the G1 Climax tournament, in which Robinson simply could not find a rhythm, going 2-4 in the tournament. At Rumble on 44th Street, Robinson teamed with BULLET CLUB leader Jay White to take on Kazuchika Okada and Eddie Kingson in a winning effort.

This week Juice Robinson tries to carry on that momentum as he faces Jake Something. The returning Jake Something makes his third appearance in NJPW, but he has yet to rack up a win. However, Jake’s previous matches on NJPW STRONG were against heavy hitters like Eddie Kingston and Brody King.

Perhaps in a match with a smaller opponent, Jake Something will have the advantage. We’ll find out when these two square off this Saturday on NJPW STRONG.

Fred Rosser (NJPW STRONG) vs. Jay White (IWGP) – Champion vs. Champion!

The main event this Saturday night marks an historic occasion for NJPW STRONG. For the very first time, a reigning IWGP World Heavyweight Champion will face a reigning NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion. Representing NJPW STRONG is the fighting champion, “Mr. No-Days-Off” Fred Rosser. Representing BULLET CLUB is the devious “Switchblade” Jay White.

As the man with the company’s top prize on his shoulder, Jay White is gearing up for the main event of Wrestle Kingdom 17, where he will defend said belt against Kazuchika Okada. While Jay White has been building and protecting his momentum going into the show of shows, Fred Rosser has been working tirelessly.

Since he captured the championship at Collision, Rosser has defended the championship 5 times in as many months. It has been Rosser’s goal since day 1 as champion to prove that the LA Dojo deserves the spotlight just as much as the NJPW roster. See NJPW STRONG Openweigth Champion Fred Rosser defend the honor of the LA Dojo against IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White in non-title action this Saturday night.
