It is time for Castle Attack! New Japan has created a new two-night event to bridge the gap between the big New Beginning shows and the upcoming New Japan Cup. Many of New Japan’s biggest titles will be on the line over two nights at Castle Attack! The first Castle Attack show will have six matches, some intense grudge matches, an entertaining Strap Match, and a very emotional main event. With the ever-changing landscape of New Japan heading into the New Japan Cup, we should have some unexpected twists and turns in the first night in Osaka. We present NJPW Castle Attack Night One 2021.

Satoshi Kojima, Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. United Empire (Will Ospreay, Jeff Cobb & Great-O-Khan)
The opening six-match tag team match helps set up two big matches on the second night of Castle Attack. TenCozy wants another shot against the Empire. Hiroshi Tanahashi will be defending his NEVER Openweight Championship against Great-O-Khan on the second night as well. Who will gain the important momentum heading into Night Two after this chaotic opening tag team match?

YOSHI-HASHI vs. Tanga Loa
YOSHI-HASHI has been on a roll. He won his first NJPW title (NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship) last year at Summer Struggle and has defended it on multiple occasions in the past few months. On Night Two, he will get a shot at the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team titles with Hirooki Goto against the Guerrillas of Destiny. On Night One, he will get his hands of Tanga Loa in singles action.
This will be the first-ever singles match between these two talented wrestlers. Who will gain the momentum heading into Night Two? With members of Chaos and Bullet Club involved, it could get ugly quick.
Hirooki Goto vs. Tama Tonga
In the second preview of the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship match, it is going to be two of the hardest hitters in New Japan facing off in singles action. But Tama Tonga has a problem. He has never defeated Hirooki Goto in singles action in five previous matches. Can he get the monkey off his back at Castle Attack? It will certainly set the tone for their title match on Night Two.

Toru Yano (c) vs. Chase Owens (KOPW Trophy)
Yano was lucky. The 2020 KOPW Trophy winner entered the 2021 KOPW Provisional Trophy match last and hit a low blow on Owens to win the trophy at this year’s Wrestle Kingdom. Chase Owens, the winner of the New Japan Rambo on the first night of Wrestle Kingdom, wants a one on one match against Yano. He gets his chance on Night One of Castle Attack.
If we can expect one thing from Toru Yano, it is to expect the unexpected. He will stop at nothing to retain his KOPW Provisional Trophy. The match will be contested under “Yano Style Texas Strap Match”. It will be unique match to say the very least.
Jay White vs Tomohiro Ishii
Jay White vowed he would win the Double Championships at Wrestle Kingdom 15. It didn’t happen. Then the very next night at New Year’s Dash, he was pinned in a ten-man tag team match by Tomohiro Ishii. Jay White was so angry it seemed he quit New Japan Pro Wrestling.
But at a Road to New Beginning show just three weeks later, he returned and repeatedly attacked Ishii. Jay White is looking for revenge from the New Year’s Dash loss, but he is looking for his first-ever singles win against Ishii. He lost the previous two singles matches at the G1 Climax against Ishii. Will Jay White get his revenge against the always dangerous “Stone Pitbull”? It could be the show-stealer on Night One.

Kazuchika Okada vs EVIL
It is time for revenge! At last year’s New Japan Cup final, EVIL shocked the world and joined the Bullet Club. At the end of that shocking final, the Bullet Club cheated to cost Okada the match and a chance to regain the Double Championships. Okada moved onto to other feuds in 2020 but he never forgot that night. He finally gets his chance for real revenge against EVIL during the main event of the first night of Castle Attack.
EVIL has been avoiding “The Rainmaker” for months. Can Okada finally get his clean singles match against his hated rival? The bigger question is how much will The Bullet Club try to interfere in the main event and can Kazuchika Okada overcomes those impossible odds yet again?
