PCW ULTRA Mutiny – Episode 17 aired on their Youtube channel on November 8. It featured their PCW UltraLight Championship match from the first Wrestle Summit back in March. The champion, “Superstar” Jake Atlas defended the title against the Impact superstar Dezmond Xavier.
Showcasing this match could not come at a better time. As Jake Atlas will be defending the ULTRALIGHT Championship against former ULTRALIGHT Champion Douglas James in just a few weeks in Seattle, Washington, at Wrestle Summit II.
This huge matchup will take place during the first night of this two-day wrestling show on November 30. On Twitter, Atlas also stated he wants to face DEFY’s Cody Chuhn. That may take place during the second night of the show on December 1. Jake Atlas has now surpassed Douglas James as the longest-reigning ULTRALIGHT champion, nearing 300 days.
Also included on this episode of Mutiny, the Olympian juggernaut Jeff Cobb takes on the controversial “King of Dong Style” Joey Ryan from PCW ULTRA’s “Fantasm” show from 2017.
Also announced for Wrestle Summit II is the Pacific Northwest’s own rising star, fan-favorite, and former DEFY champion, Artemis Spencer. Taking on international superstar and Bullet Club member El Phantasmo.
El Phantasmo is the current IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion with Taji Ishimori in New Japan Pro Wrestling. He is also the winner of the 2019 Super J-Cup tournament which was held on the United State’s west coast this year.
Artemis Spencer and El Phantasmo are no strangers to each other. Before and after El Phantasmo became an international superstar, these two have collided numerous times in British Columbia. Their most recent clash took place in ECCW at Ballroom Brawl 11 in January of this year.
Both competitors hold similar accomplishments in their home territory. Having both won ECCW’s Pacific Cup tournament: Phantasmo won it in 2009, and Spencer won it the following year in 2010.
The beef between these two still remains fresh, as they clearly know each others’ styles (and tricks) through their long ordeals and history. History will repeat itself once more as these two will clash at Wrestle Summit II’s first night. Only this time, they are both at the top of their game and careers and will be facing the best version of each other.
Additional announcements were made on Mutiny, including tickets that have now gone on sale for PCW ULTRA’s huge anniversary show on January 10, 2020, in Wilmington, California. They can be purchased at PCWULTRA.com.
After attacking the PCW ULTRA Women’s champion Sumie Sakai just weeks ago at the last show, Ruby Raze will be making her in-ring debut at PCW ULTRA’s Anniversary show in January. It has yet to be announced who she will face. But Sumie Sakai may be a solid guess.
Mutiny also revealed that Killer Kross will be making his PCW ULTRA debut at the Anniversary show. Keep your eyes peeled, as his opponent will certainly be announced sometime in the coming weeks.
Jeff Cobb vs Joey Ryan
The match between Joey Ryan and Jeff Cobb began with some basic wrist locks, but Joey quickly tried to catch Cobb’s hand between his legs with his…well… you know what. The two trade headlocks, before some brawling ensued. Cobb quickly caught Ryan in a vertical suplex.
Ryan shot back with a gouge to Cobb’s eyes, and capitalized by following up with some kicks and headlocks to wear him down. As soon as Cobb broke out of a headlock, he took Ryan down with a couple clothesline and a belly to belly overhead suplex.
Consolidating control mid-match, Cobb nailed some of his signature suplexes, and two standing moonsaults. But Joey surprised Cobb nailing his Hollywood Suplex. As Cobb tried to keep Ryan from gaining any advantage, Ryan again surprised Cobb with a devastating spinebuster.
This setup Ryan for an attempt at shoving his blowpop into Cobb’s mouth. But Cobb ducked and nailed a series of German suplexes. Cobb attempted to follow up with the gutwrench, but Ryan flipped out of it and super kicked Cobb.
Ryan wasted no time to insert the blowpop into Cobb’s mouth and superkick him in the face a second time. Ryan, waiting for Cobb, set up Cobb for his infamous dong style finisher. But Cobb was able to use his current position (between Ryan’s legs) to lock him into the Tour of the Islands for the win.

Jake Atlas (c) vs Dezmond Xavier
PCW ULTRALIGHT Championship
The match started with a bang, with Dezmond immediately nailing a dropkick to the back of Atlas’ head. The match immediately broke out fast-paced chain wrestling as the two went off the roads multiple times, demonstrating various ways of outmaneuvering each others’ offenses.
Atlas nailed a fireman’s carry roll-through, with a successive kick to his face, then a standing moonsault, all connecting. The two traded some chops, then Atlas broke out with some flips off the ropes and a surprise head scissors takedown.
The two continued to maneuver around the ring and off the ropes at blazing speeds, with Dezmond scoring an upper hand with a dropkick out of the blue. Some successive punching and kicking proceeded as Dezmond wore Atlas down.
Atlas looked to be in trouble and slowing down, failing a few attempts at striking back at Dezmond, missing him completely. Dezmond continued to punch back at Atlas in quick succession, then connected with a cutter for good measure.
Atlas finally scored an opportunity to strike back, as he pump kicked Dezmond into the corner, and charged in with a European uppercut. The champion went into a fury, as the two traded various kicks to the noggins, resembling a martial arts street fight for a few moments.
Atlas finally broke the chain of kicks and caught Dezmond into a suplex which put him in a daze. Dezmond responded by spitting in Atlas’ face, infuriating him. The two traded blows, then both fell as they head-butted each other in a collision. Atlas demonstrated his gymnastics skills, barely avoiding a kick by backflipping away from the impact.
But Dezmond nailed a double stomp off the top rope onto Atlas back. But only a moment later Atlas caught Dezmond in the jaw with a knee strike and went to the top. It is as if neither of these offenses was phasing the other, but rather it was infuriating them.
Atlas went to the top rope, but Dezmond nailed a hurricanrana, sending him sailing. Dezmond then went to the top rope himself, but Atlas interrupted his plans and the two fought for control in the corner.
Atlas kicked Dezmond off the top rope and Atlas nailed his LGBT DDT off the top rope, consolidating the pinfall.
Winner: Jake Atlas
