Quick Hits Recapatory for 4/3/19

Welcome one and all to this week’s Quick Hits Recapatory for 4/3/19! Each and every week myself, co-editor Mark Blake and editor-in-chief Marc Madison will take turns on giving you just the best of WWE Raw and SmackDown Live.

All of us here at Pro Wrestling Post believe that there’s enough negative attention drawn to the WWE and wrestling in general, all over the internet. And because of that, we will only be looking at the positives of the main WWE weekly programming. Wrestling is supposed to be fun, after all!

Rollin(s) To Mania: In the second segment of RAW, Paul Heyman speaks on behalf of his client, Brock Lesnar. He touts that at WrestleMania we will all be witness to Seth Rollins’ last match. Paul gleefully recounts all of Brock’s accomplishments and how that the next one will be the end of Seth. Rollins comes out and acquiesces that Brock has indeed done a lot. He ends by noting that beating Brock is not impossible though and that he will at WrestleMania. Seth attacks Lesnar but gets a German suplex for his trouble. Rollins is able to get the upper hand and leaves Brock laying after a curb stomp.

Thrilling Tag Team Action: The Revival of Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson take on Ricochet and Aleister Black. This match is highlighted by both teams pulling out jaw-dropping moves and feats of athleticism. Of any match on this week’s Raw, this is one to search out to watch. Both teams remind you how good tag team wrestling can be. The heelish champions take the win by making Ricochet get counted out. Dawson actually hides under the ring and this is how he traps Ricochet into the count-out. After the match, we get the two moves the crowd was waiting to see, Black’s Black Mass and Ricochet’s 630 splash.

Main Event Ladies: Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Ronda Rousey were forced to team up to take on the Riott Squad. The match ended quickly, but the post-match is where the real action is. In a wild brawl, the women fight off security and end up being arrested by the police. Following their handcuffing, they managed to continue to fight even without the use of their hands. The coup de grace was when Charlotte hits a sickening knee strike on Ronda as she taunts Flair from the window of a patrol car.

It’s The Kevin Owens Show: Kevin Owens returns with another episode of his show, with AJ Styles and Randy Orton as his guests. They both take turns taking shots at one another, AJ dogging Orton on only having one move and failing drug tests; with Orton just dogging on AJ being in the indies. As was the case with the last episode of the Kevin Owens show, it breaks down into a brawl and KO flees just before it starts.

8 Man Tag Action: In a match that CHIKARA would call Atomicos, we have an eight-man tag team match. The Usos team up with Ricochet and Aleister Black to take on The Bar, Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev. This match is another to find time to sit down and enjoy, as it highlights some great tag team competition. The Usos, Ricochet and Black win, and Alexa Bliss comes out to announce a new match for WrestleMania. It will be The Usos vs. Ricochet and Aleister Black vs. The Bar vs. Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev! Hopefully, this one will also be a fantastic tag team showcase match.

More Multi-Person Tag Team Action: This one was a giant match, literally, involving 18 people, nine on each team. The Hardy Boyz teamed up with Heavy Machinery, R-Truth, Naomi, Asuka, Nikki Cross & Carmella. They took on the team of The Good Brothers, EC3, Shelton Benjamin, Andrade, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, Lana, and Zelina Vega. While the match itself wasn’t much, it was the comedic moments that made it worthwhile.

What to expect for next week, is to expect a lot of loose ends and fallout from WrestleMania. The Raw and Smackdown Live after WrestleMania is generally the biggest of the year. This is where we will see the gloating over the final moments of stories that are complete and the kickoff of ones that are new. Traditionally there have been NXT call-ups but with so many having come up in recent months, it’s possible it may not happen here. But you never know with WWE and these shows tend to be the most unpredictable. The Superstar Shakeup is also on the horizon, taking place the following week.

What did you most enjoy from Raw and Smackdown Live this week? Let us know! Let’s have an open conversation on the stuff we like instead of all the complaining on social media. This was the Quick Hits Recapatory for 4/3/19.
