Tonight’s SmackDown Live portion begins with a backstage promo by Shane McMahon on his Extreme Rules opponents The Undertaker and Roman Reigns….New Day’s Music hits.

It’s A New Day….Nope…We get a replay of Samoa Joe’s vicious assault on Kofi Kingston last night…Dolph Ziggler emerges…He’s not done with the WWE Champ yet…WWE officials spoke with Ziggler, and if he wins tonight’s 2/3 Falls Match tonight against Kofi he will be added to his WWE Championship match against Joe. Making it a Triple-threat-match at Extreme Rules.

We see Daniel Bryan and Rowan backstage in a foul mood, making their way to the ring against New Day.…commercial.

Shane walks out and Elias fills him in…Shane says he’s got the match tonight… as long as Miz can defeat The Drifter in a 2/3 Falls Match.

Daniel Bryan and Rowan vs. Big E and Xavier Woods Tag-team match

The match starts I would have never guessed but Woods and Bryan have impeccable chemistry. Rowan and E always create chaos and plow down the competition. After a hard-fought victory E and Woods are attacked by Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Followed by Heavy Machinery to even the odds…Eight-Man Tag on the horizon?

Back from commercial…Bell rings and the heels isolate Woods in the corner with quick tags. This was a good match different from their clash last night on Raw. A highlight is Rowan landing a Gigantic Superplex on Tucker. Compactor for the win.

Recap from Naomi and Natalya vs. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross…Bliss makes the tag…Cross does all the work and The Goddess claims the victory and glory…

Nikki Cross vs. Bayley tonight and if Cross wins Bliss will get her rematch at Extreme Rules…

Miz and Elias up next after commercial…

Miz out first when we come back…Elias is providing his own entrance music by guitar…Damn, he’s so talented!

The Miz vs. Elias 2/3 Falls Match: If Miz wins he gets a match with Shane

Decent match, Elias got the first fall early thanks to Shane. Miz valiantly fought back but got the hell beaten out of him by Shane and Elias to give Miz the second. More brawling and another mocked Spear by Shane and Elias picked up the easy win after a top-rope Elbow Drop. If Miz doesn’t get added into the WWE or Universal Championship title scene after this feud, this was all a waste!.

Interview with the Intercontinental Champion: Finn Balor talks about his respect for Andrade in their hard-hitting affair at Super ShowDown. He’s asked who’s next as Shinsuke Nakamura walks up and touches the title. This is exactly what Nakamura needs to be taken seriously again. These two only had one match in NXT before Balor got called up.

Back to the ring…Miz is being helped out by the official.

Nikki Cross vs. Bayley:
If Cross wins Bliss gets her rematch at Extreme Rules

Bayley and Cross had a great ten-minute match here, Cross was hell-bent on getting her “best friend’s” rematch. The champion looked unbeatable and was hitting on the right notes. Several sequences of near falls, then Cross got the surprise pin for the three-count. She was ecstatic after the victory…too bad the writing is on the wall for her and Bliss.

24/7 Is The Best: Carmella is backstage searching for R-Truth who is hiding in some cart. Drake Maverick approaches Truth and declares his life is a disaster, he dreamed of wearing the 24/7 title on his wedding day. Truth ruined it…Truth gives him a hug and says if it means that much to you, get a referee. Psych….Truth lied and runs on with Carmella. These segments are gaining more spotlight every passing week. The next step is a pay-per-view match!

Ember Moon is shown making her way to the ring.

Ember Moon vs. Sonya DeVille

A quick match with Moon firing on all cylinders, she gets distracted by Mandy Rose at ringside. Sonya rams her shoulder-first into the ring-post and stacks her up for the win.

Someone’s knocking on HIS Door: An unhinged Aleister Black pacing back and forth almost stuttering his words, flabbergasted that no one has answered his request to pick a fight with him. Lights go dark and we hear a knock and Black has a sinister smile on his face. Please For The Love of God be Bray Wyatt…Hopefully, we’ll find out next week.

Main Event time as Ziggler makes his entrance as we head to commercial.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston 2/3 Falls Match: If Ziggler wins he gets added to Kofi vs. Samoa Joe at Extreme Rules to make it a Triple-threat-match.

The match begins with Ziggler and Kofi trying to get the upper hand. After a few sequences of reversals, Ziggler goes to back to rest holds to wear down Kofi. Both competitors execute sunset flip covers for near falls. Ziggler used the ropes but got caught and Kofi got the first fall. Ziggler viciously attacks the champ and hits a Zig-Zag on the hard floor as we head to commercial.

We’re back now as Ziggler attempts a splash in the corner nobody home, Kofi almost gets a clean sweep. He eats a stiff Superkick and Ziggler evens the score to 1-1. One of the highlights of the match is when Ziggler attempts the Fameasser but Kofi counters and spins him around for a ferocious sit-down Powerbomb for a long two-count. Followed by Ziggler ramming Kofi shoulder-first into another ring-post, and a Zig-Zag and Kofi barely got the shoulder up. The finish comes when Ziggler wants the Superkick, Kofi sidesteps and rolls through…Trouble in Paradise, nope…Ziggler again blocks…Kofi hits Trouble in Paradise and the 1-2-3.

Show closes with Kofi celebrating his win, high-fiving the WWE Universe.
