On Tuesday, May 28th, from Jefferson, Indianapolis, Wrestling Revolver presents 5000 Candles in the Ring. Unusually, the event takes place on a Tuesday night, but with a busy week of wrestling ahead it is an opportunity to shine for all involved. Fans will be treated to a series of amazing matches including talent not yet as prominent on the independent scene. That will likely all change once these young up and comers are seen in the ring.
There are two prominent matches with championship implications for Wrestling Revolver, and a championship match that doesn’t involve Wrestling Revolver, but could certainly be featured prominently by a major promotion. Will this be another night of action where the wrestling world is put on its ear? Here we go, as they light the ring up with 5000 candles. Pro Wrestling Post presents a preview for Wrestling Revolver’s upcoming 5000 Candles in the Ring.
In a rather interesting matchup, oVe member Jake Crist squares off against the man known as Project M.O.N.I.X. Very little is known about M.O.N.I.X other some of the limited particulars that he has made available. He is a five-year veteran of the ring, achieving his greatest acclaim in IWA Mid-South as a tag team and heavyweight champion. Project M.O.N.I.X also sat in on wrestling seminars hosted by the likes of Mustafa Ali, Dean Malenko, Simon Gotch, DJZ, Kevin Quinn, and Matt Riddle. He now faces the challenge of ‘The Mini-Draw’ himself. If anyone has a specific advantage it would be Crist based on experience alone. This could certainly be a big chance for M.O.N.I.X to be elevated in Wrestling Revolver.
In a match involving oVe members Dave Crist and Madman Fulton, they face two rarely spoken about newcomers to Wrestling Revolver, the team of Trash Punx, comprised of Christian Kobain and Crash Jaxson. Little is known about them, but they have been earning a name for themselves in the Midwest, with Jaxon also competing as part of the Rockstar Pro Wrestling promotion. Fulton and Crist may now be familiar with one another as members of a faction, but being tag team partners could prove to be very different. One of the keys to successful tag team wrestling is the ability to communicate with one another and to demonstrate foresight in order to operate seamlessly as a unit. That is a strength the Crist brothers have, but one wonders if Fulton and Crist will be as effective. This could be a night when Trash Punx make a name for themselves.
Much like the RiSE special matchup earlier, we have a special X-division matchup presented by IMPACT Wrestling at a Wrestling Revolver event. It isn’t typical that championships from major promotions are defended on the independent circuit, but here it is, as one-third of The Rascalz has an opportunity to face off with the champion Swann. Swann is a changed man since he went to war with his fellow Ohio wrestling colleague Sami Callihan, and we could see that emerge against Miguel. It won’t be a simple case of ‘Can you handle this?’, but rather can he survive the out of character onslaught that Swann is capable of? On a night where Miguel’s partner Wentz is also in action, the question is, will his fellow Rascal play a part in this matchup? The only way to find out is to catch all the action tonight! We could see a Rascalz walk away as the X-division champion at Wrestling Revolver’s 5000 Candles in the ring.
What an incredible blend of different styles in this special three-way Bunkhouse Brawl. We have the ‘Zombie Princess,’ the ‘Southern Psycho’ and the man who is ‘Too Sick for this world,’ Zachary Wentz. It will be interesting to see how the quick-paced Wentz is able to handle the rugged onslaught from Warner. The on again/off again rivalry between Jacobs and Warner could play a factor here, as both men never seem to let go of their animosity for one another in the ring. However, that hostility is a win for all wrestling fans in attendance. Jacobs brings years of experience, while both Wentz and Warner have gained notable television exposure recently, and developed their skills along the way. Wentz and Warner are on IMPACT Wrestling and MLW respectively, and they have become familiar with how to execute matches and focus their attention. Fans can be assured that this will be a match to keep their eyes on. What will the implications of the match for the winner of Wrestling Revolver 5000 Candles in the ring.
In one of the most amusing matches of the night, Wrestling Tent defends his championship against the likes of Manscout, Manders, Phillips and two yet to be named opponents. Besides being the most uniquely booked match of the night, it could certainly usher in a comedic element often lost in wrestling today. A couple of surprises appear to be in store, but the bigger question that remains is, can the adult boy scout be the one to walk away as the champion? Or will it be the Cornbelt cowboy that will rustle up a championship win? Could the victor be the Midwest-based wrestling guru and ‘School of Roc’ graduate Sage Philips? In any event, one has to wonder how or if Wrestling Tent will be able to sustain the onslaught of five other competitors. Only in wrestling folks, only in wrestling.
What initially began as a battle of the sexes between Havok and Romero has turned into a fatal four way for a number one contendership. Add to that, Havok and Romero have been working the independent scene for some time. For this contest, we can’t pick a side, and recommend sitting back to watch these talented competitors strike each other often in hopes that they will outslug their opposition. Romero is coming off the high of his participation in AEW’s recent Double or Nothing Casino Battle Royale. Here he will have an opportunity to continue to ride that high only three days removed from that appearance. For Havok, this could be the match that shows how dominant she can be. We may see another attempt at an epic pounce from Romero, but not if the Havok Death Machine has anything to say about that. Add to the fact that former Open Scramble champion Caleb Konley and the one true ace in Ace Austin are also involved than it makes for an exciting match for all.
They hit hard. They kick hard. And when these two talented ladies step into the ring the result will be nothing short of danger, and a night to remember. Nevaeh will bring her fourteen plus years of experience to the ring against another wily veteran in Kimber Lee. Since this match is being advertised as a RiSE singles affair, it raises a question about what the result of this match could lead to: could a RiSE championship match be in store for the winner? While more details are likely forthcoming, it would be exciting to see additional cross-promotional matches between Wrestling Revolver and RiSE. Regardless of the result, fans can be assured that Lee, a veteran of the CZW Wrestling Academy, and the veteran Nevaeh will come at each other with everything they have. Who walks away the winner at Wrestling Revolver 5000 Candles in the ring?
Wrestling Revolver’s newest champion Larry D shows that he won’t back down from a challenge. This time around the challenge is from a multi-time champion in his own right. The leader of oVe, fondly known as the Callihan Death Machine, walks into PWR and looks to dethrone the recently crowned champion. To get the title, Larry D defeated Matthew Palmer in a match that showcased his strength, agility, and growth as a performer. This time around he will need to tap into a more violent portion of this psyche in order to defeat a man known for doing just as much damage to his opponents mentally as physically. How do these two matches up? Fairly well. The biggest difference between them, and it can mean a lot, is experience; Callihan has his opponent trumped in that area. Fans can anticipate that they will bring the plunder in this contest regardless of what the end result will be. Will we have a new Wrestling Revolver champion at 5000 Candles in the ring?
