OWE’s Flying Prince to land in Toronto

The Chinese wrestling promotion Oriental Wrestling Entertainment, or OWE, though still fairly new, is quickly beginning to expand its global reach including Flying Prince. Wrestling fans are well aware of their partnership with All Elite Wrestling, which has led to members of its roster appearing on all of AEW’s events so far, beginning with ‘Double or Nothing.’ However, from the beginning, the promotion has sought opportunities for its talented performers to be seen outside of its home country. This has led to members of its ‘Strong Hearts’ faction appearing on several occasions in Japan, for Dragon Gate, DDT Pro, and Wrestle-1. Now, one of their phenomenal talents is poised to make his first foray overseas to wow even more fans.

Gao Jingjia, also known as the ‘Flying Prince,’ is a young, native Chinese wrestler who has already turned heads with his stunning, innovative aerial assault. A member of the aforementioned Strong Hearts faction, he has already been part of the OWE representation that has appeared for Dragon Gate and Wrestle-1. But in August he will travel to Toronto, Canada to appear in the ring in front of a new audience. This is his first overseas foray, and he is scheduled to travel to the UK in September as part of the OWE UK event taking place there.

Jingjia’s high-flying ability is so remarkable it has drawn admiration from WWE’s Ricochet, a man many consider the gold standard of high-fliers today. ‘The One and Only’ demonstrated this admiration by sharing videos of Jingjia on Twitter. While Jingjia is younger and less experienced than his Strong Hearts stablemates, he is quickly attracting as much attention as any of them.

When he arrives in Toronto, Jingjia will get to share the ring with some other talented fliers. First, on August 7th at the Mid Town Event Theatre, he will face Canadian flier ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey. This is part of OWE’s first-ever show in Canada, on a card that features legends CIMA and ‘Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels against Private Party, the up and coming tag team from AEW.

Three days later, on August 10, he will return to the Mid Town Event Theatre to face another young man known for his aerial ability. AEW’s Sammy Guevara. This Saturday afternoon show by OWE also features intriguing matches, including OWE’s Sunny Zhai facing indy veteran Buck Gunderson and two-thirds of SoCal Uncensored (Daniels and his long-time partner Frankie Kazarian) facing Rekka and Gaia Hox, two other young men making a splash in OWE. Jingjia’s Strong Hearts allies CIMA, T-Hawk, and El Lindaman will also be on the show.

This is hopefully just the first of many appearances in North America by the Flying Prince, but fans should definitely take advantage of the opportunities to check these shows out and be prepared to be wowed by someone who is taking high-flying wrestling to the next level.
