Welcome back, marks! No time to dawdle, so let’s get straight into it… When last I left you, Jack Pride had just beaten Dylon Stone in a 2 out of 3 Falls match to cement his claim as THE GUY in the CWC! Fast forward to the next CWC event where Jack was defending his title against Stone’s tag partner, Shaun Martens. This time we present you with Stone vs Pride Chapter 2.
The finish came when Stone distracted the ref and slipped Martens some knuckle dusters. Martens blasted Jack in the jaw and left him laying for the 1-2-3. When he regained his senses, Jack grabbed a mic and challenged Stone to “one last match”; A ladder match with both men’s contracts hanging above the ring! Jack wanted to win and be done with Stone forever by terminating his contact!
Unfortunately, when that ladder match took place, things did not go Jack’s way. He threw everything he could at Stone, including hitting his Smirking Revenge elbow drop off the top of the ladder. In the end, it was the numbers game once again that led to Jack’s ultimate demise. Stone won the match after Martens interjected himself in the match, laying out Jack and carrying Stone up the ladder to victory. To everyone’s shock, Stone didn’t fire Jack. No… Stone wanted to humiliate Jack. Dylon held Jack’s contract hostage demanding he does his bidding or else he would fire him. Stone made Jack attack other wrestlers, eliminate himself from battle royals, and help Martens win matches. Jack hated every minute of it but had no choice as the contract was ironclad.
A Few Months Later
A few months later, after a hard-fought match against Chris Perish that saw Jack come up short, Stone took to the ring and began to berate Jack. Right when it seemed like Jack had enough and was going to do something, Stone tore up his contract in the middle of the ring! Jack was left with nothing while Stone laughed and laughed.
Fast forward to the CWC’s year-end show, The Stud Stable (led by Chris Perish and Col. Austin) was running the show over the CWC. Stone’s partner Martens had turned on him to join The Stud Stable which left Stone at a crossroads all of his own. At the same time, Jack had wrestled under a mask and defeated Stud Stable member, Nightmare before disappearing into the crowd.
The main event of the night was almost completely ruined when The Stud Stable came and attacked both men involved in it. To help clear house for “Team CWC” Stone came running from the back, and then out of nowhere Jack had also returned! “Team CWC” chased off The Stud Stable and the day was won! In a very uncharacteristic move, Dylon Stone, who still maintained control over Jack’s contract rights, asked the audience what he should do and ultimately REINSTATED Jack! The Neon Knights would ride again!!!
Back on the same page, the next year was a big one for The Neon Knights. Stone would go on to win a 20 man Battle Royal to become the CWC’s first Alberta Champion. Jack was involved in a heated rivalry with Chris Perish over the CWC Title.
Previously with Perish
In the last match of that rivalry, Perish would put his CWC title on the line one last time, but if Jack couldn’t win then he would have his “Greatest Hair in Professional Wrestling” shaved off in the middle of the ring. In the end, the ref was down, Jack was down, and Perish was poised to finally take Jack out with a chair. Stone ran down to save his brother from the illegal attack. Stone was able to get the chair from Perish, only to have Perish spit right in Stone’s face. His blood boiling and seeing red, Stone unstrapped the Alberta title from around his waist and readied himself to bash Perish’s brain in. Things, however, did not go how Stone planned…
Stone VS Pride Chapter 2
Perish saw the attack coming and ducked. Jack, who was just coming to, saw nothing coming until Stone blasted him in the head knocking him clean out. Stone was beside himself and didn’t know what to do. Perish spun him around, hit a Pedigree, and then pinned Jack 1-2-3 in the middle of the ring…
A man of his word, Jack sat in the barber’s chair and had his nearly two-foot mane shorn from his head. Stone all the while trying to apologize for the failed attempt to save Jack. Sitting there while his whole world crumbled around him, Jack was out of sorts and inconsolable. Before leaving the ring, Stone tried to bring Jack in for a hug, but Jack who was beginning to fill with rage shoved Stone to the mat before leaving the ring. Getting pretty exciting now eh, marks?!
Stay tuned for next weeks third and, I wanna say final chapter, but this is wrestling, so nothing is ever really over until you stop lacing up your boots. To quote one of the greats, “later marks!”. This was Stone vs Pride Chapter 2.
