On July 5th, 2005, Pro Wrestling Noah aired Pro Wrestling Noah Differ Cup 2005 Night 1 as 8 Junior Heavyweight Tag Teams competed & on this show.

We have seven matches, including the Quarter- and semi-finals and our only Non-Tournament match between Sonjay Dutt and Ebetaro.

Quarter-Final Match Of The 2005 Differ Cup

Katsuhiko Nakajima & Takehiro Murahama vs. Super Shisa & Tiger Emperor

Katsuhiko Nakajima & Takehiro Murahama take it to Super Shisa & Tiger Emperor by working them over with some tag teamwork.

Both of them bring some kicks throughout the match. Emperor gets the hot tag, but even he gets worked over by a kick combo from Nakajima. Shisa gets a near fall with a double under-hook suplex with a headstand bridge.

Tiger Emperor looks to head to the top rope but gets knocked off the turnbuckles when Nakajima takes his head off with R15. Emperor hits Tiger Suplex 04 on Nakajima to get the win for his team.

Winners: Super Shisa & Tiger Emperor (16:54)

Minoru Fujita & Ikuto Hidaka vs. Taka Michinoku & Psycho

Ikuto Hidaka & Psycho start things out before Taka Michinoku & Minoru Fujita soon enter, and the strikes fly.

Things go incredibly fast-paced, and Michinoku ends up eating an inverted atomic drop out of a Leapfrog.

He aids Psycho in dropkicking the Zero1 MAX crew and accidentally gives his own partner a backdrop suplex. Fujita & Hidaka then crush Psycho’s skull with a double dropkick.

Fujita & Hidaka with a double team Boston Crab, but Psycho finds an opportunity and nails a swank-swinging complete shot.

Michinoku gets the tag and wastes no time breaking out No Hands Springboard Plancha into the crowd. Back inside, Michinoku goes for Michinoku Driver II, but Hidaka counters with a DDT.

Michinoku locks on Just Facelock, but Hidaka finds the ropes but Michinoku won’t quit that easily and locks it on once again while countering a Powerbomb.

Fujita & Psycho make it back in, and Fujita taunts Michinoku by nailing Michinoku Driver II on Psycho.

Michinoku locks in Just Facelock on Hidaka but neither is the legal man and that allows Fujita to submit Psycho with Boneyard.

Winners By Submission: Minoru Fujita & Ikuto Hidaka (11:52) (They will face Shisa & Emperor in the Semi-Finals)

Naomichi Marufuji & Kenta vs. Kota Ibushi & Kudo

Kenta & Kudo face off to start the match and kick the ever-living hell out of each other.

Kenta changes tone by slapping Kudo, and they slap each other senselessly, with Kenta winning. They trade kicks again, but both end up floored this time.

Kota Ibushi & Naomichi Marufuji take over with some exchanges before Ibushi sends Marufuji to the floor and follows with a Space Flying Tiger Sault.

Back inside, he hits a standing Shooting Star Press before Kenta locks on a Camel Clutch and cranks on it big time.

Marufuji isn’t left out as he nails a Piledriver on the ramp, which Kota does not sell. Back inside, they lock on an Abdominal Stretch/Octopus double team submission.

Ibushi gets the tag, and Kudo takes it to Marufuji & Kenta Marufuji takes a German suplex. Kudo gets caught coming off the top rope, but Ibushi is there for the save and hits a Cartwheel Standing Phoenix Splash.

Ibushi’s moonsault gets another near fall, and with Marufuji on the floor, Ibushi goes for the win with a Phoenix Splash that almost smashes Kenta’s face in. Kudo follows with a Flying Double Knee Drop.

Marufuji and Kenta have had enough and go for a Doomsday Busaiku Knee Kick on Ibushi. Kudo saves but is thrown to the outside while Kenta nails the Kenta Combo and hits the Busaiku Knee on Ibushi to get the win.

Takashi Sasaki & Gentaro vs. Leonardo Spanky & Kaz Hayashi 

Kaz Hayashi & Leonardo Spanky are being whipped around on the floor for a few minutes. Back inside, Spanky is worked over extensively with several strikes.

Each time he looks to escape, he’s beaten back down to the mat. He eventually makes the tag to Hayashi & them, which allows them to hit Planchas to the floor.

Hayashi takes a near fall with the WA4, and he & Takashi Sasaki roll to the floor. Hayashi & Sasaki face off while Gentaro & Spanky do battle back in the ring.

Sweet Chin Music gets Gentaro a near fall before he misses the Shooting Star Press, allowing Spanky to nail the Sliced Bread #2 for another near fall.

Hayashi nails Final Cut on Sasaki, which allows them to hit Powerbomb/Avalanche Sliced Bread #2 for the win.

Winners: Leonardo Spanky & Kaz Hayashi (15:26) (They will face Marufuji & Kenta in the Semi-Finals)

Sonjay Dutt vs. Ebetaro

Ebessan complains about the ref’s count and instructs him to counter faster. Sonjay Dutt rolls Ebessan up and the ref counts fast as he was instructed.

Ebessan was less than thrilled. Then Dutt ended up on the floor, and Ebessan crotched him as he reentered the ring. Even the ref got crotched.

Once Dutt got back in, Ebessan worked him over, which included spanking him in the ropes.

Dutt fires back with an awesome Asai DDT and a Satellite DDT. Ebessan strikes back with the Ebisu Otoshi and Shining Ebezard.

However, the ref ends up being tricked into DDT’ing and Lariating Ebessan. Dutt connects with a springboard tornado DDT and then hits Phoenix Splash for the win.

Winner: Sonjay Dutt (11:29)

Super Shisa & Tiger Emperor vs. Minoru Fujita & Ikuto Hidaka

Super Shisa & Tiger Emperor strike first, with Shisa hitting a headstand headscissors and Emperor landing an awesome Plancha.

Back in the ring, Shisa is grounded and works over fairly thoroughly. He makes the tag to Emperor & he cleans the house, and they lock on a Double Bow & Arrow submission.

Tiger is also soon grounded and Hidaka goes nuts on his leg by locking on a Figure 4. Things broke down big time in the final stages of the match, with Hidaka nailing a tornado DDT and Fujita locking on Boneyard, but Shisa made it to the ropes.

Emperor counters a Brainbuster with an Inverted DDT in mid-air as Emperor takes Fujita out of the equation and makes a hard-fought attempt to end the match.

He nails a stalling Tiger Driver for a near fall, and then Hidaka goes for Shawn Capture, but the Tiger Emperor counters and ends up hitting the Tiger Feint Kick.

He goes for Tiger Suplex 04, but Fujita breaks it up. Tiger Emperor dropkicks Hidaka out of the ring, but he hangs on, comes back into the ring, and lands Shawn Capture.

Tiger Emperor fights it off as hard as he can, but eventually, he has no choice and taps out.

Naomichi Marufuji & Kenta vs. Leonardo Spanky & Kaz Hayashi

Naomichi Marufuji & Kenta quickly grab the advantage and work over Leonardo Spanky. Spanky takes an a**-kicking all over the ring and the ringside area.

Kenta fakes a springboard leg drop, opting to land on his feet and simply kick Spanky in the face. Hayashi makes it in eventually, and he & Kenta go not on each other’s skulls with strikes.

Marufuji and Hayashi face-off, with Marufuji dodging a Shining Wizard and hitting a Tiger Driver and a cover. However, as Hayashi kicks out, he catches Marufuji with the Shining Wizard.

Hayashi & Spanky hits Powerbomb/Avalanche Sliced Bread #2, but this time, the pin is broken up. Hayashi hits Final Cut, but Kenta isn’t phased as he nails Busaiku Knee. Marufuji rolls Spanky up in a Rolling Prawn Hold to get the win.

Winners: Naomichi Marufuji & Kenta (19:12) (They will face Fujita & Hidaka in the Finals)
