This week’s preview of AEW Rampage is for the week of 4/22/22. It features four matches, which isn’t typical for the show. The program also includes an interview segment as well. On the heels of this past week’s announcement on AEW Dynamite, AEW and NJPW will come together to present the Forbidden Door pay-per-view. The event is slated to take place on Sunday, June 26th.

One of the matches taking place on this evening pits Adam Cole against Tomohiro Ishii. Their match is an Owen Hart Foundation Cup qualifier. The remaining three matches scheduled include a one-on-one matchup between the Murderhawk Monster, Lance Archer against Serpentico, Daniel Garcia against Eddie Kingston, and Jade Cargill defending the TBS Championship against Marina Shafir.

Which match are you most looking forward to on this week’s episode of AEW Rampage for 4/22/22?

    Lance Archer vs. Serpentico

If a match ever appeared in its booking of being an absolute murder, it could be this one. However, while the match is guilty of cold booking, it does provide both talents an opportunity. Archer faced Hangman Page for the AEW World Championship. While the match could be seen as a step-down for Archer, it is a chance to be seen by a television audience. His massive frame and intimidating look has always resonated.

And with the upcoming NJPW/AEW PPV it presents a former Suzuki-gun member of showcasing how dominant he can be. For Serpentico, aside from presenting something that leaves those watching in awe of his heart, it is easy to be fearful.

Tony Schiavone interviews Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland.

Very little was revealed about what this interview will be about. However, one can presume with the recent issues they have had with Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs that it may be about that. How long these issues will continue to remain unresolved with all sides hasn’t been determined when or how long that will last. Fans may see some form of an altercation between all four matches leading to another tag match up. But at this point, nothing is quite confirmed.

    Everyone Banned From Ringside
    Daniel Garcia vs. Eddie Kingston

The rivalry between the Jericho Appreciation Society and Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz. This one-on-one matchup just fuels the animosity between the brawler and the ‘sports entertainer.’ In a match dubbed ‘everyone banned from ringside,’ the two men will face each other with the premise that no one else will get involved. The problem with that notion is the risk that someone that isn’t typically on the side of either group does get involved.

Could this be the night we see another two men come to aid Kingston? A pair of individuals whom he could trust or had a history with? This could be the night that the sides become even between.

The Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament Qualifier
    Adam Cole vs. Tomohiro Ishii

Ishii is THICK! That is the best way to describe this human bulldozer. Silent in his demeanor yet violent in his actions, Tomohiro Ishii, returns to compete in AEW. The last time fans will recall Ishii competing in AEW, it was part of a Best Friends and CHAOS union that included Rocky Romero. This time however he walks in alone with the intention of not only qualifying for the tournament but likely embarrassing Adam Cole in the process.

For Adam Cole, he is coming off his second loss to Hangman Page for the AEW World Championship. While he intended to shoot for the moon, the problem was he missed. So while he has landed amongst the stars, Adam Cole winning once again, is on track to head back to where he had always wanted to be. At the top. Does Cole lose, only furthering the tension among the Undisputed Elite?

    TBS Championship
Jade Cargill (c) vs. Marina Shafir

With the rise of Cargill’s baddie section, the question now that appears to be present is, does the champion now also have an entourage? Fans have seen Kiera Hogan and Red Velvet join Cargill’s baddie section and seems to be her backup. But, in saying that, will she be able to use both of these women’s forces to cement her 30-0 record? For Shafir, she comes in as a lone wolf.

As ‘the problem,’ Shafir is bringing her MMA background and no-nonsense style to an AEW ring. In doing so, she has taken her past and appears to be applying it to her future.
