Welcome to CMLL Juicio Final preview that is one of the most historic events for the company. This tremendous event, CMLL has two hair vs hair matches and a retirement match. What do you need to know about this event? CMLL has regular shows three times a week in Arena Mexico. In addition, every three months or so, they organize huge events like Homenaje a Dos Leyendas, Sin Salida, Aniversario, and Juicio Final. On these shows, they book matches with wagers involved; hair, masks, or careers on the line. On May 31 with Juicio Final, CMLL gives us a huge event. Let’s go analyze the matches.
Blue Panther Jr, Rey Cometa, and Black Panther vs Kawato San, Misterioso and Disturbio
To begin Juicio Final, CMLL has set up classic relevos austrialianos match. This translate to Australian Rules, or a six-person tag team match. The opposing team must pin the other team’s captain or both of the other members to win. Black Panther and Blue Panther Jr. will team with Rey Cometa. The Panthers are children of Blue Panther who is a CMLL legend. They also specialize in technical wrestling abilities. Rey Cometa has shown week after week his extensive aerial arsenal.
The other team is represented by Disturbio, Misterioso and Kawato San. Disturbio is growing up in the company, and last year went to Luchamania in Japan. This event is shared between CMLL and NJPW. He has a strong style and powerful moves. Misterioso is very similar; he also has traveled to Japan and also has great power moves. The last partner is Kawato, a Japanese wrestler who is learning the Mexican style. We hope for a strong style match with dives and high flying by Cometa. It’s a good match to start the show and to excite the crowd.
Angel de Oro, Soberano Jr, and Niebla Roja vs Los Hijos del Infierno (Mephisto, Luciferno and Ephesto)
The second match is another Australian Rules match. On the tecnicos side, we have the Chavez Brothers and Soberano Jr. Both Angel de Oro and Niebla Roja have grown a lot, as both have lost their masks. They are a great example even though they lost their mask with courage and honor, they can succeed in their career. Soberano Jr is a great high flyer; every week when he is booked in Arena Mexico, he always has left a good taste with the crowd. These tecnicos are coordinated and will seek to earn an opportunity for the Trios Championship.
They will face another great trio in Los Hijos del Infierno. Mephisto is a wrestler with powerful moves and sometimes uses dives. His father was Kahos, who is a legend in Toreo de Cuatro Caminos and CMLL. Mephisto is also the leader of this team. They also would like to earn a shot at the Trios Championship. This match is highly recommended as both these Trios are solid and work well together. The two teams have proven at every opportunity that has all that they deserve a shot at the Trios gold.
Retirement Match
Metalico vs Virus
This retirement match between Virus and Metalico is very important. This rivalry started weeks ago in Coliseo Arena with a contract for hair vs hair match. This Wednesday, the stakes were raised when both signed a contract for a retirement match. That means it will only be a one fall match. Both have experience and have participated in the different types of betting matches. Metalico is called the Pedro Infante of the Lucha Libre, as he has a great resemblance to the actor. However, he always has been in the mid-card matches in CMLL. Metalico a great athlete and for many things is called a master.
Virus began in the minis division, going by Piratita Morgan then Diamencito Guerrero. He decided to work harder to win a place with the biggest CMLL stars. So he changed his image and created the character of Virus. He with Volador Jr and Ricky Marvin kept great matches against Rocky Romero, TJP and Bobby Quance, and these six men revolutionized the CMLL style. In singles matches, Virus has won some hair versus hair matches. This match will be amazing, you can’t imagine all the feelings that they will have. In one match, it’s decided if they’ll continue to do what they love or if they have to hang up the boots.
Tag Team Championship Match
Diamante Azul and El Valiente (c) vs Gran Guerrero and Euforia
The CMLL Tag Team Championships are on the line at Juicio Final. This match was added two weeks ago. During the press conference, CMLL informed us that the titles would be on the line. The current champions are Diamante Azul and El Valiente, since November 2018 they have held them. They defeated Rush and Bestia del Ring. This match will be their second defense. Diamante Azul and El Valiente are a team that has everything: strength, speed, and aerial moves. In front of them, they have Los Guerreros Laguneros. CMLL gave them this opportunity because see them as having all the requirements to be good challengers. CMLL could have held a tournament but to fill the show, they have added this match. But on the other hand, Los Guerreros are an excellent team. Gran Guerrero and Euforia are heavyweights which is an advantage for them.
Hair vs Hair
Kaho Kobayashi vs Amapola
Well, the ladies will have this match to prove all of their skills. This rivalry was born in Arena Mexico between two warrior ladies weeks ago. On one side, we have Amapola. She’s a wrestler with lots of experience and more than 20 years in the business. In CMLL, she has had several different rivalries. One of them was with Dark Angel who won her mask in 2014. That loss did not frustrate her and she continued to demonstrate her technical skills.
In Amapola’s way has now appeared a Japanese rookie, Kaho Kobayashi. Kaho who has about 6 years experience, has decided to prove herself and earn a spot as one of the best. Kaho has a bit of experience in Mexico but her with her strong style and agility she could get the surprise victory. Young Kaho has all the desire but Amapola has the experience. The finish is unpredictable but we will have an excellent match to remember.
Battle of Idols
Caristico, Volador Jr. and Mistico vs Los Apestosos (Mr. Niebla, Cavernario, and Negro Casas)
Next match, we’ll have the Battle of Idols. Why is it called this? Well, because on the side of tecnicos, they’ll be represented by some best high flyers of CMLL. They are Caristico, Volador Jr and Mistico and they will blow your mind. Caristico is an icon to CMLL and lucha libre. He has all that you need to enjoy a great match and with his partners, Volador and Mistico, it’ll be awesome. Volador is a tremendous high flyer, just like his name means. And last but not least, this trio is reinforced with Mistico, well the same case, a great high flyer and the youngest of the team.
In front of them, they have Los Apestosos (The stinky or the stinkers.) They are represented by Negro Casas, El Felino, and Barbaro Cavernario. These stable always steal the claps of the crowd, and they are excellent wrestlers. Their strength is in their experience, these qualities are brought by Negro Casas and El Felino. And the stable is reinforced with the man who has grown a lot in the last year, Cavernario. Carvenario has everything, speed, dives, strength, and attitude.
Hair vs Hair – Main Event
Ultimo Guerrero vs Mascara Año 2000
The main event at Juicio Final, it’ll be master against a legend, it’ll be a Mexican classic style, it’ll be rudo against rudo. That is the description of this hair vs hair match. This is happening because weeks ago, they had tremendous matches between Guerreros Laguneros against Dinamitas. These leaders have decided to finish this rivalry with a hair vs hair match.
Mascara Año 2000 has been an enormous wrestler, he is a CMLL legend. His career started in EMLL (this was the name of CMLL before). He began on the tecnico side, but he raised his game when changed to the rudo side. He won Anibal’s mask, which for Mascara was a great moment. That night was ended like a truly hated rudo. Anibal was a great wrestler, during that time he was touted as the next Santo or Blue Demon. With his brothers, Cien Caras and Universo 2000, they formed the stable Los Dinamitas. He and his brothers were one of the most important pieces when born AAA in the 1990s. Mascara lost his mask at the first Triplemania, but it didn’t affect him negatively. He grew and raised his game. These days he wrestles with his nephews Sanson, Cuatrero, and Forastero. They are called NGD or Nueva Generacion Dinamita.
Ultimo Guerrero is an icon of CMLL since he began to learn lucha libre. Ultimo was part of Promo Azteca, this company was created at the end of the 1990s. He got an opportunity in CMLL, and he has had great moments. Guerrero won Mr. Aguila’s mask in 1998; Aguila would go on to be Essa Rios in WWE. He also formed the stable Los Infernales with Satanico and Rey Bucanero. He and Bucanero were a terrific team, they traveled to Japan and also participated in the World Cup X in TNA in 2008. In 2009, he had a great triumph as he won a mask of lucha libre legend Villano V. That match was awesome and it was big for Ultimo because Villano is called a master.
In 2014, he had a sad moment. He lost the mask which was the most important in his life, his own. However, he didn’t allow to affect his career, he has since bet his hair three times. In all of these matches, he’s walked away with the win and he has never lost his hair. We’ll see a clash of great masters and a great match. This match will be mythic. Who will win at Juicio Final? Only the best rudo of CMLL.
