In a recent report from PWInsider, Brian James a.k.a Road Dogg has taken on a new full-time role with the brand. It had been mentioned previously that Road Dogg was working with the talent in the WWE Performance Centre.
This news comes after last month’s decision by James to step down in his role as co-lead writer of Smackdown Live. James was heading the Smackdown Live writing team and would be on the road while Stephen Guerrieri would remain working at WWE Headquarters.
It had been suggested that the decision had in part to frustrations the writer was facing behind the scenes due in part to script revisions being made. No official word has been made yet on his role or title but it should be taking place shortly.
Madison’s Mindset: The addition of James to the NXT team only adds to an already deep roster of Hall of Fame talent and trainers that play an active role in the growth and development of the roster. James is a former Hardcore and WWE tag team champion multiple times over. He was at the helm during some of the most exciting and engaging episodes of Smackdown Live in recent memory.
James brings with him a wealth of information and experience in the role thus allowing for talent to grow and prosper. NXT has emerged as a must-watch brand for fans and subscribers of the WWE Network. His addition will only continue to add to the talents developing storylines and help them to further progress the potentially future Raw or Smackdown Live roster stars. With talents such as Adam Cole, Velveteen Dream, Johnny Gargano, Mia Yim, and Matt Riddle a part of the roster, the work of the WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg would only help refine the already established skillsets of these men and women.
