SATURDAY, MAY 4, 2019 (Edmonton, AB) – Real Canadian Wrestling celebrated their 16th Anniversary in Edmonton with an appearance by WWE Legend “The Vampire Warrior” Gangrel, as well as the (Ring of Honor) ROH World Champion Matt Taven.  In Taven’s match, he challenged RCW Alberta Champion Dylon Stone in a Title vs. Title Match.  “Mr. Saturday Night” had just won the Alberta Title from Pride in Red Deer a mere three weeks ago.  What culminated was a twenty-minute classic match.

Both men threw out everything they could at each other.  Taven countered Stone’s finisher, the Saturday Night Special (Running Knee) into a short powerbomb, but only for a two.  As Taven went to hit his finisher, the Climax, on Stone, Dylon reversed Taven into a cross-face in the center of the ring.  Whether Taven was going to tap out or not we will never know, as members of Dirty Inc., Cody Chimera, and Maverick Jack, came out to break out the party. This resulted in a disqualification victory for Dylon Stone.  A tainted victory against the Ring of Honor World Champion, but a victory none-the-less.

“I came here thinking there was no one on this roster that could hang with me,” Taven stated in a post-match promo.  “Honestly, this is no schtick, this is the truth… You (Stone) are one hell of a wrestler.  Now it seems half-way through that match, I feel like you changed my mind, and I feel like it was a mistake to put my title on the line.  But as God as my witness, I will come back here any time to put my title on the line because you are one hell of a wrestler.”
