TiTan Championship Wrestling Quickly Making Waves on East Coast

Unlike the innumerable indies who use the very same talent pool in their area, New Jersey-based TiTan Championship Wrestling is rapidly making a name for themselves as being something special. Bringing in rarely and never used wrestlers from out of state, mixing in some of the greatest legends in the history of the game with their own grapplers, and booking seminars with such immortals as Arn Anderson to help their young, hungry talent flourish, they have rapidly made a reputation for themselves as the new promotion of note.

I sat in on a business meeting they held Sunday, February 23rd in Sayreville, New Jersey and was impressed with not only their experience but with their passion for the business. TCW wasn’t going to be the same old, tired, 14 match ticket-seller marathons filled with kids with no gear doing endless, numbing spot fests. They aspire to build their own stars and create Art.

Speaking with the brains behind the brawn, Owner/CEO Billy Fetzke summed up his ambitions for the fledgling promotion. “Titan Championship Wrestling LLC is not your typical sports entertainment company. We are professionally licensed. We bring you all the best professional wrestling talent from yesterday, today, and for tomorrow. The management of Titan Championship Wrestling has cut their teeth for the past few years in the tri-state area wrestling scene. We offer a great event from start to finish, that’s family-friendly, and destined to make you a fan.

Our goal is to provide a little bit more bang for your buck. You can see wrestling on TV, but at our events, you can practically reach out and touch it.

The fan experience is very important to us. Whether it’s signing an autograph, high fiving a fan, or raffling off some special merchandise, from the minute you find your seat until the minute you leave, we want you to enjoy yourself. We want you to be part of our family because you are.”

Charles DeLutri- Co-Promoter/Production Director further spoke about TCW’s vision.

“Pro wrestlers are meant to be titans- larger than life. At Titan, we follow through with that aspect. We believe in the ethics of pro wrestling by providing fans with that larger than life experience.”

And how does a veteran wrestler in former ECW tag champ and WWE performer Chris Michaels of Team Splendid see TCW? “Unlike most independent promotions where two people run the entire show, Titan Championship Wrestling realizes that delegating responsibilities to competent people will make for a better product.” And luckily for the stars of TCW Bill Pierce AKA Chris Michaels is a talent agent as well as a member of the creative staff and will be hosting a seminar this Saturday 3-5 where the youngsters can soak in 30 or so years of his wisdom and experience. You can also see Chris on the WWE Network vs. The Undertaker or as Team Splendid faces one of the greatest tag teams in history in The Rock & Roll Express April 18th for TCW.

If I’ve whetted your appetite for this brand-new promotion come out to this Saturday’s Winter’s Vengeance featuring WWE and NWA legend The Warlord vs. the always formidable Steve Monsta Mack. With a bunch of exciting shows and seminars already lined up, here’s a taste of what’s to come over the next few months. As a columnist for Pro Wrestling Post, we’ll put you inside these shows as they happen and thank you to Marc Madison for caring enough to cover and support the indies worldwide; it’s a service that’s greatly needed and appreciated.

    Upcoming TCW Events:
    Feb 29, 3-5 PM

    WWE/ECW’s Bill Pierce Seminar

Titan Championship Wrestling has another great opportunity for up and coming talent. Bill Pierce is a legend in the pro wrestling industry. With great matches against such talents as The Undertaker, to being a mentor to others, he has a lot of knowledge to pass down. A master of old school professional wrestling, this is an opportunity for talents to learn from the best. The seminar is just only $10 (payable to Bill Pierce the day of), but the knowledge you will gain is priceless.
