Less than a month removed from losing the IWGP Heavyweight tag titles at Wrestle Kingdom 14, the Guerillas of Destiny have won the titles for the 6th time.
After winning World Tag League, the team of David Finlay and Juice Robinson defeated the duo of Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa at the Tokyo Dome on the 4th of January.
The brothers were quick to revoke their re-match clause and the bout was set for the next upcoming tour in America.
However, on the last date of the USA portion of the New Japan New Beginning’s Tour in Atlanta, Georgia (1st February) the Bullet Club pair won the titles back.
Due to the fact that the match was not streamed live, although there may be VOD in the future, not much is known about the match itself. All that is stated on njpw1972.com is that the match went over 18 minutes and was won via pinfall.

It might be easy to assume that the presence of Jado in the corner of the brothers was a huge factor in this match. However, G.o.D are not one of the best tag teams in the world for no reason. This is just another example of how good the two are as a team.
The loss will have had a huge impact on the team of Finlay and Robinson as they failed to defend the titles losing it on their first defense. However, this is not the first time a title has dropped on the first defense, and it has become more common in the past year with titles It even happened with the IWGP Heavyweight title as both Jay White and Hiroshi Tanahashi dropping the belt on their first defense.
Going forward, it seems like G.o.D are unbeatable in the tag division and has beaten everyone that New Japan gives them.
With the belts back around the Guerillas of Destiny waists, it doesn’t feel like the two will let the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship go again without a fight.
