On Saturday, February 29th, Black Label Pro presents Quantum Leap. It is rare that an event take place on the one day that only happens every four years but BLP jumped on that. With at least eight matches scheduled the result should be another fun night from all the talent involved. Who will walk out as the IW Champion, Midwest and Heavyweight champions on this night? Will everything remain status quo or will that extra day throw the champions off? We aren’t sure but if Warhorse has anything to say about it HE WILL REMAIN THE IW CHAMPION! Here is our preview for BLP’s Quantum Leap.
Independent Wrestling Championship
Warhorse vs. EFFY
These two have been striking the cord with one another on social media for some time. EFFY is slated to challenge Warhorse for his title. With EFFY’s challenge, it is likely getting under the skin of the rather intense Warhorse. In fact, EFFY’s playful nature could be summed up in his tweet to Warhorse that the championship is causing fatigue. ‘Are you tired yet, Warhorse? Let me that that weight off your shoulder!’ Both poignant and clever, Warhorse best not allow emotions to get the better of him in this match up with Daddy. Could we see a new Indie Wrestling Champion?
Chris Dickinson vs. Jake Something
This match may be one of the two hardest-hitting contests of the evening. A former trainee of the Ring of Honor Dojo, Something steps into the ring with a man he hasn’t reportedly faced before. For Dickinson, a veteran of seventeen years know how to utilize his size much like Something. However, the experience is clearly on the side of Dickinson. It can be a case of he’ll show his less experienced opponent only what he thinks he may know about him but not what he actually does. Dickinson is just as acquainted with battling the likes of men of equal size whose punches and kicks are equally lethal. For Something, we won’t rely on his past success such as the AAW Pro Heritage Champion to hang his hat on. However, Something will use his youth and spirit to defeat the savvy veteran.
Blake Christian and Alex Zayne vs The Rascalz
If any match has the blink or you’ll miss it signature to this would be it. While both Xavier and Miguel have had a long-standing relationship with one another. With Christian and Zayne both men are familiar with one another as both compete fairly regularly for the likes of GCW. Blake is only in his third year of active competition. This matchup will test his skills against such notable opponents and champions as Xavier and Miguel. It will also challenge his skills as a teammate too alongside Zayne. A native of Lexington, Kentucky Zayne brings anything but southern hospitality to this contest. He is out to win and that is ultimately the name of the game. While four minds are often better than two in a match, it is all about communication. Will Christian and Zayne be able to come together as a team to
Kylie Rae vs. AJ Gray
One is to sweat and the other is too angry. The recipe for this match will be nothing but a win for all involved. With the Black Label Pro Midwest Championship on the line, Gray will do everything in his power to make sure that he walks out the champion. For Rae, this isn’t her first championship opportunity. In fact last month she contended with Warhorse for his IWTV Championship. Despite not coming out of that match on the winning end it won’t prevent her from coming out on top here. Gray will have to contend with the Chicago native’s strong combination of high strikes and quick-paced action. Rae on the end will have to avoid Gray’s size and strength in order to come out on top.
BLP Championship
Josh Alexander vs. Erick Stevens
This match is likely to be a brutal affair. Despite not having his AAW Pro Championship anymore, Alexander is still a perennial champion. As one-half of The North and IMPACT Wrestling tag team champions, Alexander is sure to bring the fight to Stevens. Stevens brings his over fifteen years of ring experience with him along with his time in Ring of Honor in this match. The thirty-seven-year-old is sure to strike and strike often against the walking weapon. These two have never faced each other before but will now. The result from these two pros facing each other is likely to be wonderful. Will Alexander be able to not only leap time but leap over Stevens on this night for his championship at Quantum Leap?
Ren Narita vs. Aaron Williams
This will be Narita’s second match in BLP and he is in for a battle. He last competed for the promotion in 2019 when he faced Isaias Velazquez at Slamilton 2. Now he faces off with a man that is no stranger to Black Label Pro. He is armed with a vast number of moves in his arsenal. From strikes to drivers, Williams is certain to not hold back in his match up with Narita. Narita has burst onto the scene emerging from New Japan Pro Wrestling but moving quickly across the United States as well. As one of the Young Lions, Narita has generated a great deal of interest and traction about himself and it shows. Will the emerging Japanese star take down the established American veteran? Who leaps over whom in another hard-hitting affair at Quantum Leap?
Violence is Forever vs. Wheeler Yuya and Lee Moriarty
Recently signed Major League Wrestling talent Kevin Ku teams with already recognized Dominic Garrini in a matchup against Yuta and Moriarty. For Ku and Garrini they aren’t new to teaming with one another. They previously competed under the team name Sadkampf but have remerged with a new name. In their brief couple of years together, Garrini and Ku have captured championships and held them for quite a while. They have held the Southern Underground Pro and Pro Wrestling Freedom championships. For Yuta and Moriarty, this appears to be the first time the duo has worked together as a tag team. They have faced each other in the past but this would be a different set of circumstances at Quantum Leap.
Bear Country vs. Corn Beef
The duo of Bear Beefcake and Bear Bronson certainly know how to get the crowds in their favor. With this being their third match in BLP they are certain to get these fans to support them as well. Their wins and losses over the past couple of appearances may have been split but that doesn’t mean they are any less of a team because of it. Bronson is a former trainee of the Creat-A-Pro Wrestling academy under Brian Myers (Curt Hawkins in the WWE). Garvin and Manders are still relatively new to one another as a tandem but don’t let that scare you off. If the belief is that they aren’t very cohesive as a unit that couldn’t be further from the truth.
