Pro wrestling is alive and well. With new TV deals, promotions prospering and new signings, it seems sports entertainment is the industry to be in right now. But for one superstar who has wrestling in his blood, it looks like he has his sights on changing his landscape. Back in late 2009, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that Randy Orton teases “has signed a new long-term contract with World Wrestling Entertainment, reportedly for ten years”. At that time it was considered unprecedented. But now we are nearing the end of that contract and Randy may have set his sights on his next move.

As seen above, Orton posted on his Instagram a very interesting “sign” that he already has plans to possibly not resign with WWE and he’s not going alone. Tagged includes his FTRKO partners, and longtime rumored disgruntled tag team, The Revival, the recently returned Luke Harper, NXT standout and former NFL player Riddick Moss, one of AEW’s EVP Cody, and current AEW World Champion Chris Jericho. He even went as far as to tag the location Jacksonville, Florida, AEW’s base of operations.

Jericho, who has never shy away from taking shots towards the Connecticut-based wrestling promotion, joins in the fun offering his help with Orton’s interest in joining the new promotion with his comment of “sending a tape in”.

Only time will tell what Randy and his tagged cohorts will do but we will be sure to update you as more information comes in.

    Caul’s Call:

There’s a reason why I love Randy Orton. Outside of being an awesome wrestler, he’s also a very smart individual. It was well known at the time Randy Orton contract teases was possibly his last and he may be looking to take a reduced schedule. Rumors that he even got his own bus out of it. But with AEW now thriving, it totally changes the landscape and his future. He may be in line for an even bigger contract with WWE or refresh his entire career in AEW.

The same can go for the Revival who are long-standing social media “rivals” and would bolster the AEW tag team roster. Riddick Moss has been between gimmicks in NXT, so it seems to have friends in high places that may work out for him. Only time will tell what happens next. Tick tock.
