AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 05/22/24 (Strickland vs. Wayne)

All Elite Wrestling is less than a week away from their annual Double or Nothing pay-per-view as we preview AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 05/22/24. The card is coming together nicely, and the storylines are certainly being built well. It is time for the go-home show.

This week’s AEW Dynamite will have an FTW Championship contender’s match, multiple singles matches, some important tag team matches, and some previews of this Sunday’s big event.

All Elite Wrestling sure has loaded up this Dynamite. Let us find out more about this stacked card in Bakersfield in the latest edition of AEW Ignite.

AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 05/22/24
IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley will be in the Building

On last week’s AEW Dynamite, Jon Moxley & Bryan Danielson defeated Jeff Cobb & Kyle Fletcher. After the match ended, Konosuke Takeshita attacked Jon Moxley.

The BCC was able to fend off the attack, but it set up a match for AEW Double or Nothing. Moxley versus Takeshita will be played on Sunday in Las Vegas.

On this week’s AEW Dynamite, Jon Moxley will be in Bakersfield. What will he have to say? And will Takeshita be there to greet him?

Moxley-Takeshita will be one of the most highly anticipated matches on the Double or Nothing card. It will be fun to see them face off one more time.

Bang Bang Gang Will Be at AEW Dynamite

The Bang Bang Gang has certainly been playing mind games with Pac in recent weeks. On last week’s AEW Collision, they attacked Pac and dragged him onto the stage. It seems their goal of getting his attention will finally work.

The Bang Bang Gang will be on AEW Dynamite. Will they be on hand to gloat? And will Pac be on hand as well? It could be another explosive moment, for sure.

“Timeless” Toni Storm & Mariah May vs. Saraya & Harley Cameron

Over the last two weeks, Harley Cameron has surprised in competitive matches against Mariah May and Toni Storm.

And Saraya has always been at ringside attempting to influence the outcome of those matches as well. In Bakersfield, the Outcasts will get Storm and May in tag team action.

The biggest unanswered question is about Serena Deeb. While Storm has been dealing with the Outcasts in recent weeks, Deeb has been patiently awaiting the “Timeless” One for a title match at AEW Double or Nothing. Will she make her presence known on Wednesday night?

AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 05/22/24
Konosuke Takeshita vs. Matt Sydal

Last week, Matt Sydal teamed up with Christopher Daniels against the Young Bucks. After a heartbreaking loss to the Bucks, they rubbed even more salt in the wound by firing Daniels. What does Sydal do next?

His reward is a match against the talented Konosuke Takeshita. Konosuke is certainly motivated by his upcoming match against Jon Moxley.

Can Sydal quickly refocus and give Takeshita a good match? If he does, it could be a show stealer on a loaded card on Wednesday night.

Bryan Danielson vs. Satnam Singh

Bryan Danielson is only a few days away from a brutal “Anarchy in the Arena” match against The Elite. He should be trying to mentally and physically prepare for the vicious encounter. But the Elite seem to have other plans for the “American Dragon”.

The Elite have made a deal with Sonjay Dutt. On Wednesday night, Danielson will face the 7-foot Satnam Singh.

It seems the goal of this match is to do as much damage to Bryan as possible before Double or Nothing. They certainly picked the best person to do so. Can Danielson survive and be ready for Sunday night?

AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 05/22/24
Kyle O’Reilly vs. Malakai Black

The House of Black has been playing mind games with TNT Champion Adam Copeland. On last week’s Dynamite, it went to another level as they completed a vicious attack on Cope. Will he even be able to compete at Double or Nothing?

Kyle O’Reilly, a recent opponent of Adam Copeland, attempted to make the save. He was unsuccessful. He was even attacked himself as a result by House of Black.

On Wednesday in Bakersfield, O’Reilly will attempt to get some revenge. Can he do so against all odds? And will Adam Copeland be able to assist? It should be quite the match on AEW Dynamite.

AEW Dynamite IGNITE for 05/22/24
Orange Cassidy & Will Ospreay vs. Trent Beretta & Roderick Strong

It is a tag team match with huge implications for AEW Double or Nothing. Orange Cassidy has been showing a darker side as he tries to gain revenge on former friend Trent Beretta. What lengths will he go to gain the upper hand against Trent?

Will Ospreay will be getting a chance at his first AEW title on Sunday night? Roderick Strong cannot be too pleased with this dangerous challenger.

Will the Undisputed Kingdom try to get involved as well? It might be Strong’s best chance to keep his International Championship.

Swerve Strickland vs. Nick Wayne

It is a battle of Northwest wrestlers on AEW Dynamite! AEW World Champion has battled Nick Wayne many times over the years. They even faced off in Wayne’s AEW debut last year.

On Wednesday night, the rivals face off yet again. Wayne is trying to gain some advantage for Christian Cage before Cage’s AEW World title match on Sunday night. Will the Patriarchy be on hand to interfere in this match? The odds are looking quite likely.

What To Expect:

  • What will Darby Allin have to say about “Anarchy in the Arena?”
  • What will the Elite do next?
  • Will we learn more about AEW Double or Nothing?
