This week’s AEW Collision comes off a huge show last week as we preview AEW Collision for 07/15/23. As well as CM Punk and Ricky Starks getting their tickets to the Owen Hart tournament, defeating Samoa Joe and Powerhouse Hobbs, respectively.
This Saturday, Collision will feature four finalists in the Owen Hart Cup tournaments to decide who will be the winner of the second edition of the Owen Hart Cup, as well as an exciting 2-Out-of-3-Falls Tag Team Title contest.

AEW Collision for 07/15/23
FTR (c) vs. Jay White and Juice Robinson
(2 Out of 3 Falls Match)
AEW World Tag Team Championships)

On last week’s Collision, BC Gold brought the fight to the Top Guys in a half-hour battle that saw the Bullet Club boys get the pin to gain a tag team title opportunity. After the match, both teams decided not to waste any time and to have the rematch the following week, but wanted to change the game for the second match: to win the match, you must beat the other team twice.
With last week’s victory, the duo of Jay White and Juice Robinson will have the advantage over the champions with a pinfall over the Top Guys, giving them confidence going into this huge matchup. However, FTR have more experience in this style of stipulation against teams such as the Briscoes and #DIY cross WWE and ROH.
Despite this, the BC team have proved to be dangerous with their sly tactics, so Dax and Cash have to be very alert.
So, will FTR continue to carve a legacy of tag greatness by putting BC Gold on their hitlist to retain and carry on their AEW tag title reign? Or will the Switchblade and Rock Hard go 2-0 against the Top Guys to gain their first championships in All Elite Wrestling?

AEW Collision for 07/15/23
Ruby Soho vs. Athena/Willow Nightingale
(Women’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament Finals)

On Saturday evening, the winner of the second Women’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament as Ruby Soho looks to avenge her finals loss to Britt Baker at Double or Nothing 2022 by winning the cup. However, she will not find out her opponent for the 2023 finals until Friday, when Athena and Nightingale have their semi-final.
Ruby Soho debuted in AEW at All Out 2021 and she has yet to win gold, despite many attempts through title shots and tournaments ., which caused her to snap and join Saraya and Storm on a pilgrimage of the women’s division. This could lead to an extra edge in this final that will give a first taste of gold to Soho.
On the other hand, despite who comes out of this matchup Friday, either Athena or Willow will have both an advantage and a disadvantage going into Collision this week. On one hand, the winner knows who they will face the next day, but Soho is in the unknown, giving them more preparation.
But will only have 24 hours to recover. Both Athena and Nightingale are itching to battle one another after their heated rematch got delayed from last Saturday, and whoever gets to Collision will bring the fight to Soho.
The winner of this match will become the second woman to win the Owen Hart Cup. So, will Ruby Soho use her newly found edge to fulfill her 2-year mission and earn her first gold in AEW? Or will the winner of Athena vs. Willow Nightingale make good on their 24-hour notice for their opponent to sneak a win in the finals to stand atop the Owen Hart Cup tournament?

AEW Collision for 07/15/23
CM Punk vs. Ricky Starks
(Men’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament Finals)

After many exciting matches from the men’s tournament on the new AEW TV show, Collision will feature the finals of the second Men’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament, which will see Absolute Ricky Starks, who looks to get back on track to the top with a victory here, but has one obstacle: the Best in the World, CM Punk.
On the way to the finals, Starks buried some demons in the form of an old friend-turned-rival with Powerhouse Hobbs, as well as a new foe in Juice Robinson. CM Punk had a similar route by having a first-time opponent with Kojima and getting his first win over one of his biggest rivals, Samoa Joe. Both men have went through many struggles and wars to get to this point, so neither man will be backing down easy.
CM Punk has an experience edge in this matchup, with a 15+ year career being used to these high-stake situations against legends such as Cena and Undertaker. On the other hand, Starks has youth and will be the faster man in this bout, as well as having, arguably, the stronger motivation for a win due to needing that landmark win to elevate himself and a victory over Punk would put him up the ranks in All Elite Wrestling.
The winner of this match will take home the Owen Hart Cup. So, will the Best in The World use his years of experience and make good on his return by representing the Harts by winning the tournament? Or will Absolute be able to gain the biggest win of his career by taking out Punk and being the second man to hold the Owen Hart Cup?

What To Expect:

  • What will happen next in the feud between Andrade El Idolo and Malakai Black?
  • Will Julia Hart continue her 2023 undefeated streak and build more momentum?
  • How will Samoa Joe respond after his post-match attack on CM Punk?
  • The aftermath of Powerhouse Hobbs turning his back on QTV
