The rumors were true. For quite some time, people have been saying that promotions from around the world that have close links to WWE would appear on the WWE Network. And just an hour ago it was confirmed. This Saturday, you will be able to watch some of the world’s best independent wrestling content. Yes folks, EVOLVE, ICW, PROGRESS, and wXw programming will be coming to the Network.
It’s mentioned on the WWE website, that this is just the beginning. Over the coming weeks and months, you will be able to watch more content from all four promotions. Whether that’s select matches or full event cards remains to be seen.
This Saturday a pair of compilations will be added to the WWE Network. The first will feature current WWE Champion Drew McIntyre in his EVOLVE days of 2017. You will see him take on current WWE roster members Aleister Black, Matt Riddle, Johnny Gargano, and more.
The second compilation added is all bout NXT Champion Keith Lee, also from his EVOLVE days. It features two matches that will shine more light on his friendship/feuding with Dominik Dijakovic. Definitely a must-see in my opinion.
New Independent Wrestling Content Coming To The WWE Network
The first wXw content to be added will be the AMBITION 11 and Femmes Fatale 2019 events. Ambition 11 was a one-night tournament that features wXw alumni Timothy Thatcher and WALTER as Ringkampf. And Femmes Fatale 2019 was also a one-night tournament with some of the best female talents from around the world.
PROGRESS will be highlighted on the Network by the showing of Chapter 92: Entertaining Friends. The main event was a super-strong match for the PROGRESS World Championship – WALTER vs Ilja Dragunov. But the sleeper match for me was Trent Seven vs Paul Robinson. Another must-see folks!
And last but by no means least, is ICW’s Night Two of Shug’s Hoose Party from July 2018. Jeff Jarrett was the commissioner that evening and he oversaw a great card that included Grado, Session Moth Martina, Jeff Cobb, and a whole load more.

Long rumored to be added to a higher tier of the Network, seeing these promotions added is quite surprising. But clever too. Showing current WWE fans current roster members from their indy days could improve their standing. To see where they came from, the wars that they had? Surely that will give fans hope that they could replicate those matches in a WWE ring. But then again, I could be very very wrong. Uncle Vince is still the man in charge…
