#Preview MLW Presents Saturday Night SuperFight

MLW returns to their home in Chicago, IL of Cicero Stadium to host their first-ever pay-per-view event, Saturday Night SuperFight. Promociones Dorado, just as Salina de la Renta likes it, is smack in the middle of everything. On several different fronts, they are involved in the action. All of the gold in MLW will also be on the line, and will feature a special Stairway to Hell match The pay-per-view will be available on all major cable and satellite distributors, as well as on FITE.TV. As if that weren’t enough, there’s also a free one-hour pre-show.

Included on the preshow will be four incredible fights to get you ready for Saturday Night SuperFight. Savio Vega will take on one half of the Dirty Blonds, Leo Brien. Salina de la Renta will lead Hijo de LA Park into battle against the South American star Zenshi. Gino Medina will make his highly anticipated MLW debut against the amazing Air Wolf. Also set for triangle tag team action will be Simon Gotch and Ikuro Kwon of CONTRA Unit, Dominic Garrini and Douglas James, and The Spirit Squad!

Septimo Dragon, Gringo Loco & Puma King vs Injustice (Myron Reed, Kotto Brazil & Jordan Oliver)

Gringo Loco has been competing with the members of Injustice since he joined MLW as a regular fighter. It was only when they began to accept the use of underhanded tactics and objects to score victories that it would become a problem for the Base God. On episode 73 of MLW Fusion, Injustice would score their first major victory over Gringo Loco, Air Wolf and Zenshi. It was then they first used questionable means to get the win, and from that point on, it would recur in every match. The odds will be even at Saturday Night Superfight as Loco teams with Septimo Dragon and the unorthodox King of the Jungle, Puma King.

Low-Ki vs. Brian Pillman, Jr.

Several weeks ago on MLW Fusion, Brian Pillman, Jr. managed to nearly defeat Austin Aries. After the match, Low-Ki attempted to offer some sage advice to the 2018 Rookie of the Year. In his typical fashion, Pillman blew off Low-Ki and his advice. He then mocked Low-Ki on the most recent episode of H2 TV. Pillman threw down the challenge and the former world champion was quick to accept. Many would remember that Brian has a long history of disrespecting veterans; having had similar issues with Kevin Sullivan and Tommy Dreamer. However, since Low-Ki returned after being laid out by CONTRA Unit, he’s been undefeated. Low-Ki also has picked up a string of knockouts, vanquishing all opponents quickly. At Saturday Night SuperFight, we’ll see if Pillman can back up his confidence or if Low-Ki adds to his TKO count.

Stairway to Hell Match
Jimmy Havoc vs. Bestia 666 vs. Mance Warner

Jimmy Bloody Havoc will be involved in a contest seemingly made for him. He’s been busy in MLW in 2019, embroiled in a bitter feud with Mance Warner. Havoc has also risen the ire of Bestia 666. Bestia and his father, Damien 666 had been allied with Havoc’s business associate Salina de la Renta. Havoc however took the opportunity to destroy Damien 666, which means Bestia is now on the war path. To seek vengence on behalf of his father, Bestia 666 has been added to this Stairway to Hell match at Saturday Night SuperFight.

The rules of this match are pretty simple. Barbed wire will be suspended above the ring, and like a ladder match, you must incapacitate your opponents in order to climb. If and when you retrieve sections of barbed wire, you may introduce it into the match. In any gruesome way possible you may use it and other forms of plunder to put someone down for a pinfall or be forced to submit.

MLW World Tag Team Championship Texas Tornado Match
The Dynasty (MJF & Richard Holliday) (c) vs. The Von Erichs (Ross & Marshall Von Erich)

At Saturday Night SuperFight, the running is over for MJF and Richard Holliday. Due to the heroic efforts of Holliday’s lawyer/father, they’ve been able to duck The Von Erich boys. They even were able to put off this title fight from October 5th to November 2nd. Court Bauer had had enough dealing with Holliday, MJF and Holliday’s lawyer/father and put this match on the books. In addition to being for the MLW World Tag Team Championships, it will be a match that the Von Erich family invented and made famous: a Texas Tornado match.

A Texas Tornado tag team match is similar to lucha libre style tag team matches in that tags are not required. The difference is that both members of the team can be in the ring at the same time. This makes a very tough job for the official, but means that MJF and Richard Holliday won’t be able to run and hide from Marshall and Ross Von Erich any longer.

MLW World Middleweight Championship Match
Teddy Hart (c) vs. Austin Aries

Since returning to MLW in June, Austin Aries has made it very clear that his goal is the MLW World Middleweight Championship. He’s racked up an impressive string of victories over Adam Brooks, Brian Pillman, Jr., and Ace Austin. Aries also made it exceptionally clear that he’s out for Teddy Hart, as he attacked Hart during the 2 out of 3 falls match in Tijuana. Aries dropped Hart with a devastating brainbuster on the ring apron, which put him out of competition until Saturday Night SuperFight. Hart was cleared by a doctor in Calgary for this contest. It should be noted that the League official doctor, Nelson Sweglar, does not agree with this determination. Teddy Hart will not be denied any longer, he wants to get his hands on Austin Aries.

National Openweight Championship Match
Alex Hammerstone (c) vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr.

The strongmen of The Dynasty and The Hart Foundation will clash over the National Openweight Championship. Earlier in the summer, Davey Boy almost defeated Hammerstone. However, the rest of the Dynasty intervened to keep the title in their camp. Never one to give up, Smith worked his way back up in the rankings to earn another shot at the National Openweight Championship.

Timothy Thatcher vs. “Filthy” Tom Lawlor

Renowned grappler Timothy Thatcher laid down a challenge for the former World Heavyweight Champion, “Filthy” Tom Lawlor. Lawlor, a former MMA fighter, never backs down from a challenge and agreed to the contest. Thatcher spent ample time training in California with Douglas James for this match. Lawlor had this to say about the fight: “I’m going to make sure that one missing tooth isn’t the only one when I knock the rest of them down his throat.”

MLW World Heavyweight Championship No Disqualification Match
Jacob Fatu (c) vs. LA Park

In the main event for MLW Saturday Night SuperFight, we will see Jacob Fatu defend against LA Park. LA Park won the second annual Battle Riot earlier this year which gave him the right to a Heavyweight Championship match whenever he would like. Calculating, Salina de la Renta and LA Park decided that this would be the perfect moment to strike. Once this match was announced, the war between Promociones Dorado and CONTRA Unit heated up. Josef Samael would offer to la empresaria to join them, which she quickly rebuffed. As CONTRA often does, they struck first with violence. Salina quickly raised the bar and promises that if they want it cartel-style, that’s exactly what they’ll get at Saturday Night SuperFight.

Both of these wrestlers are currently undefeated in MLW in singles competition. There can only be one winner, one champion. Which group will have control over the league when Saturday Night SuperFight is through? You’ll have to tune in to find out.
